Ok I looked around on the forums for a bit and didnt find anyone pointing out this location.

c:\Users\Jake\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows\.jagex_cache_32\

I regularly delete the randoms.dat in the plain old windows folder but there was another one here.

Im running Vista by the way

PS: AppData was a hidden folder

PPS: I just loaded up classic for the heck of it and found uid.dat in the file store folder does that one only show up in classic?

Yah I know its in regular windows .jagex_cache_32

and I delete that one every time I use a signed client

what I saying is that I deleted that one and then I found another one in the VirturalStore place

Was I already suppose to know there was a copy in the VirturalStore?
Cause if so then I completely missed it:spongebob:

If you are just looking around in different folders, then don't.

Just go:

Start > Search > random.dat (or uid.dat, runescape or jagex), then make it read-only. If you delete it, it will just keep coming back.

Oh, and another thing, when you make it read-only and you play RuneScape again, re-search it all again as they put it in a different spot then. Just re-do all above the above stuff. I think I had to do it about 5-6 times.

After a while, they don't have it in any more spots. I was surprised to find that they actually once put it on my Desktop :p (I am talking about my Virtual Machine by the way).

How do you go about making a file read only?

Edit : Never mind, I found it.
