… So I came home today to find that my computer had a bunch of pop-ups and the background was some website thing saying that my computer is infected…

^^ Thats my desktop…. theres 2 pop-ups and the last 3 icons i didnt even download. This really sucks because ss just started working again and right now i have to burn a copy of windows and reformat my computer. I hope this never happens to any of you and i just wanted to let you know that this happened.

You know the process's in the task manager? Well usually on XP you have around 19-34 depending on the stuff you have installed. I encountered a computer with 142 process's running… Lets just say it took me a couple hours to fix it, as the owners didn't want it wiped out because of the valuable data on it. It was A LOT of file deleting and registry editing… *sigh*

Sucks that your computer got infected though, it happens to the best and the worst of us. Hey think of it this way though, if you learn how to fix it you can make money fixing it for other people.

Happened to me from a damn AIM virus. Mine was a rootkit virus -_-.

u can do that…or u can download, ummm oh ya, sry i forgot :p
u can download ComboFix. :), but reformattings good too i guess

You must be a lucky one then. Usually viruses attack the system restore first.
