To be honest, when I see an autoer I know is using scar, I don't report them. I wouldn't like to be reported when I'm autoing. It's like screwing oursevles over, stabbing oursevles in the back. What's the point?
Plus, it increases the chance of jagex finding out more about us, the script we use, what type of click we use, etc, so they can detect us better in the future.
IMO don't report.

If you're going to report someone for using SCAR/SRL, then why are you in a SCAR/SRL community? And for all you know those players were the author testing out his own script (however unlikely that may be).
IMO report people who abuse autoing. Ie. have the basic clothing, shit names, or are < lvl 20.

I don't agree with you, when someone is autoing at the expense of someone else's pixel pleasure, I think they should be reported if they don't go to the effort of making the script 'their own.'
I did consider Jagex finding out more about us, but I don't think they could gather the type of click we use. How is a Mouse click different from a …Real Mouse click? If it's any different, I think it would already be discovered.
Although, RadialRoadWalk may be sold out through reporting leechers…as well as other functions.
Is this the reason there is a post count required to become a Junior Member?
(This was in a crowded area, I found the first one because someone typed in one of the keywords for 'stfu.' A silent bot suddenly became loud.)
@Zach
The reason I am in a SCAR/SRL community is because I want to annoy Jagex, not the players. Your opinion is the 'standard,' but I am more strict. If I see you autoing at all at the expense of someone else, I WILL report you. If you want to ruin someone else's experience, you do that, but I will report you if you don't do it the right way, unless I am persuaded otherwise. This is my moral viewpoint.
@Hobbit
Similar, but not in the same numbers. An addy pickaxe was equipped on both, in a mine full of relative newcomers to RS. Most of them were steel/bronze/mithril. Two(One at a time..) were pretty much taking control of the iron.

i don't report SRL users unless they are <20 combat because i think that jagex could find out the triggers and other mechanisms of certain popular scripts that i use, such as masterkill's VEM. I even feel weird about reporting the low level scar autoers because i feel like this will allow Jagex to learn about our techniques.

I report EVERY AUTOER I see if possible (meaning that I haven't reported one in the past minute). If your players look like they're autoing, they deserve to be banned. Look at Fawki's army. By looks and level, they are almost undetectable. Everyone's players should be like that. If they aren't, you're too lazy and don't deserve to use scar.
i have been in the guild mine autoing and just watching whats going on
and sometimes i can tell that people are autoing
its really obvius, but i dont report them
they are never extremly low leveled
but you can generally tell who all is autoing and who is legit
Daniel

If you continue doing so, you're threatening yourself and the autoer. If you look at the scripts and study them and you use the same reply thing (So if you say hello it'll say yo or hi) so Jagex will know if you're an autoer as well.

Reporting the abusive SCAR and SRL users is kind of like reporting flaws, or moles in our community. =P
I report most level 3 autoers…
But why do people do this?
Do they think they seem "cool" because they look similar to the asian autoers?
Or have they just got some weird idea that macroers need to be level 3?
Or maybe they're that ignorant that they don't realize that level 3 macroing = sure ban…
If it's one of the above reasons, I think they deserve a ban .. People learn from their mistakes :p
Edit: Also, if Jagex had a burning need to find some triggers or whatnot, I think they already would have? Basically because you get directed to this site from most RS Cheating related sites (that have anything to do with SCAR that is) and SCAR has been around for years.. I doubt reporting a few "misusers" would do anything bad.

Way to annoy jagex is to. . . . . .. i dont know we are a cheating comunity here or we are a more of a letting your computer play runescape. A computer isnt a bot its a bloody computer :) so how can they even ban anyone. ?!?!?!? think Andrew, i know your here. Andrew you should say on RUles: Do not let your computer play runescape. this is a pretty extreme view, but i kind of agree. We are pointing out any flaws that may be present in the scripts and exposing them to Jagex. For example, if you type in one of the keywords for an autoresponder and they say stfu over and over again, you have just exposed a flaw in a highly sophisticated script.

Jack .. I don't really agree with your reasoning tho you are welcome to it .. and here's why.
Both were complying to SRL Rules
Then why not just leave them alone and carry on with whatever you are doing? They are a part of the community you have chosen.
however, they both had a low combat
The low combat I can understand - but what are you gauging as low combat? My Girlies are all 25 - 30 .. I took a break from training combat to train stats so that I was "mixing it up" in an effort not to get flagged. I don't see many level 3s where I auto; the only place I did was in Draynor because they are all over the trees there.
So .. what is your definition of "low combat?"
and passed the 'Autoing Test' that I enjoy handing out so much. (Basically, I look at a script, find out how it reacts to certain things, and test it on other people. If they react quickly or in the same way, I found an Autoer.)
This makes no sense - even YOUR characters are going to respond and act in ways that indicate to other autoers that they are autoers and I would be willing to bet you wouldn't be too happy if one of us reported you based on a self-imposed system such as yours (see last question).
I mean come on .. I am using Masterkill's VEM right now and I can tell 2 other people are using the same (or one like it) script as I am just based off of the route they walk to the rocks. Would I be justified in reporting them because they don't pass my "autoer test," or because they are mining the same rocks that I am? Even though I am doing the same darn thing to them? I think it's completely contradictory to what I am trying to accomplish.
More questions:
Do you auto?
Do you use scripts from this community?
Do you write your own scripts and use those?
In closing .. I don't personally waste my time reporting other autoers - everyone has to learn somehow and perhaps whatever they are doing is part of their learning process. There are hundreds of other people reporting the level 3s in default drag - I don't even bother with the bots. You are not basing your reporting criteria on just dress and level - you have your own that you have made up that is based on script responses as well, which makes no sense to me.
Last question .. if you are finding things about scripts that result in players failing your autoing test, do you report those findings to the writers of the scripts so that they can improve on them? Or do you just keep that information to yourself?
I guess I just don't understand your reasoning .. maybe I am just slow on the uptake :p wouldn't be the first time! :)

No, I'm not that good. Right now I am using two miners, both of which I did tweak - both using Masterkills tweaked autoresponder. I tweak waits, coordinates, etc etc, then add in responses that will make people not want to talk to you.

Do you use scripts from this community?
Do you write your own scripts and use those?
1. Yes, but no. I've been autoing the most this week, which still isn't very much.
2. Yeah
3. Yes, but they aren't in working condition.
Last question .. if you are finding things about scripts that result in players failing your autoing test, do you report those findings to the writers of the scripts so that they can improve on them? Or do you just keep that information to yourself?
Depends
@ all
I am unsure whether or not you understood what I was saying. It isn't like going around chasing Hugolord, you could just tell that it was a raw-downloaded-off-the-spot script. By low combat, I meant level 20, level 20, level 21, etc. Just outside the range of 20. If there weren't people nearby complaining of their 'rocks' being taken by a level 21 that takes less than an hour to make, it wouldn't concern me, it isn't like a 'SRLsr hunt.' I'd report you no matter what you were using.
And as I said before, I don't want to bother anyone who is playing legitimately, that just isn't the way it should work. I see scripts as "alright" if they are around when no one else is. Is that hard to understand?
@Most of you…
If you can detect a script, it shouldn't be massively used, in my opinion, because it slowly gets more and more detectable, and more of an inconvenience for everyone else. How do you think iBot started out? So far, your views seem to be a lot like an 'autoing war.' Oh look, they are using SRL, that other kid is using iBot. We should report the kid using iBot, not the SRL users, because they have a combat level of 20 and are doing the exact same thing.
No sense at all…If you can tell at a glance the person is autoing, why shouldn't you report them? The main source of Jagex's bans is from people reporting…So we should let the people evolve instead, not the company that responds to reports.
So in turn, I ask you this.
What separates SRL from iBot? The people who use it? The scale? The power behind them? The purpose? The way they work?Give me your reasoning, I am curious. I don't know much about iBot, heck, I don't even know if thats the name of the program the level 3 Autoers use.

SRL is invisible to the common legit. Plain and simple. When they see a lvl 20+ wearing normal clothing mining iron, they think hey look its some nub trying to get geepeez. The autoresponder gives autoers away to US, the SRL community because we have seen it before.
Your "tweaked" autoresponder is no better because i assume it still responds to the same triggers such as, "Mining levels?" and "Trade?" . In addition scripters often encourage people to change autoresponders how they see fit.
When you first started SRL did you tweak anything at all?
I highly doubt it. What if someone who had been around longer than you had reported you because they recognized a mechanism of the SRL script you were using.
By reporting SRL and "letting the people evolve" without helping them you are doing the community a disservice.
A level 3 autoer is one thing, but someone obeying the SRL rules and using a well developed script should not be reported under any circumstances.

Incorrect. Nothing is every "invisible" or "undetectable" in SCAR/SRL.
Also, I really disagree with people saying to not report SRL autoers. If you really don't want to be banned, you should train your players to a very high level, give them rune armor, and use good scripts. If you don't do all that, you should have a chance to be banned.

i am not saying SRL is undetectable by jagex or people with knowledge of SRL. To the average legit player, a good SRL army running a high quality script is invisible.
we have set in place rules for autoing, and if someone is following these rules, they should not be reported.

Untrue, buck cakes. The tweaked auto-responder I use orders it to use a different loop for 20 minutes or so after a certain number of 'mining levels' or 'fishing levels.'
No, it is not invisible to legit players. Three people discovered that I was botting, and would have reported me had I not been there on the spot to talk my way out. Trust me, they know more than you think.

It is the fault of the person who reported you as well if they are in this community. By reporting you they are harming you, and this community could quickly develop into a backstabbing mess.
If people were going to report the users of widespread scripts, scripters may chose to make their scripts private to keep them to themselves.

If Jagex gathered enough information to ban good autoers from poor autoers, then the SRL-Forums should not so freely hand out information.
What separates SRL from iBot, when a community does not give restraint?
You have been putting words into my mouth, buck cakes. If someone from the SRL-Community can clearly see someone autoing, and suspects other people may learn from that, then why shouldn't he clean up that mess?
This isn't a game of tag, you pathetic wretch, I never said the community should be out to get itself.

i apologize for putting words into your mouth, although i believe they were accurate for the most part.
My view is that as long as autoers abide by the rules that we, in this community have set up, that they should not be reported by the members of our own community. That would be like arresting someone for drinking when they were 21. It may not be the best idea, but they are breaking no rules.
And as far as SRL forums no longer handing out information? I strongly disagree with that. Look at you and I, both contributing members to this forum, but we have not yet made scripts. If they were to seal off the forums, people like us would never have a chance to get in.

I'm all for tutorials, but not scripts. Most of the people that come here find the site by googling something like 'Runescape bots' or 'free runescape cheats' or something in leetspeak.
What I really suggested by 'not giving out information' was making the site for a private selection, and made up of referrals, based upon reports really giving out that much information.
While I'm at it, does anyone know for sure how much information can be collected from a report? The thing says it just gives 60 snapshots, I don't think that they would try to hide that they 'discover clicks', and if you ask me, they stereotype bots. I don't think we would be found very often from 'snapshots of the past 60 seconds.'
Actually, this is getting offtopic, and it's turned into more of a debate than 'What do you think?'

As for jagex cottoning on to the was everything works i think they may have a foot in the door already simply because whenever i run scripts i seem to get rapped by randoms 20times more than if i don't! so surely they must be picking up something….or they just hate me:mad:
scar/SRL scripts like wizzup?'s essence miner are so good i can't tell who is autoing! However, if i find someone with a mega shit script like my bonepicker one, they will be reported.
