Why don't scripts work for everyone?

I've noticed that in general, scripts that work great for some may or may not work well for others, even with the same color settings etc. I good example is I made an Edgeville yew cutter/banker, which for me works practically flawlessly, a few times it ran perfectly for over 9 hours on one run with one player. However for others, it doesn't even bank correctly and/or gets lost. I've noticed this with a lot of scripts, no matter how well it's scripted this seems to occur.

Basically I'm asking why is this? And does anyone have any advice? I want to contribute to SRL, however if a script I spent around 12 hours making and debugging works for 30% of the community, then I would like to know what is the cause and if there is any way to avoid this.

Some of it has to do with the fact that colors change everytime you reload Runescape. Also, some people of amazingly fast/slow processors and that leads to some other problems.

There are a lot of things that are unavoidable.

'Others' possibly include people running it on High Detail and set on a Brightness level other than Very Bright.

If it's the processor, then thats sad.

Some people may just not use it right - not filling out the DeclarePlayers PIN, etc. =/

Yeah that would make sense, every time I post a script on another community some idiot comes along and says my script doesn't work. Turns out he didn't put it on low detail and/or very bright, even though I said it in the instructions. Although I've yet to run into that in this community.

judging from the SCAR section at sythe and others, most people are just incapable of following simple directions on how to set up a script.

There will always be those who does that..
You should just link them to a tutorial. As long as its not script side error ;)
