I dont think any of the SRL Members where there, since JuKKas loc field says Helsinki, and Tuusula is about 60km away from there (right?) and Helsinki is the capital, has whole lotta schools anyways so people who live in Helsinki, go to school in Helsinki. About GoF and others I dont know, (GoF is on msn :p ) and if I were dead, I wouldnt be typing this because if I'd believe in heaven etc, I wouldn't think there isn't computers there, just dont want to use a shitty dial-up…

He shot him self in the head he died 4 hours later in the hospital, scrambled brains..

She/He didn't have to look like escapee from mental hospital (right word?) to admire Hitler and Stalin and to shoot the principle in head and just shoot at random people in the way… (or did he..?)

But many people wrote that why didn't anybody 'listen' to his 'threatens'..

Come to think of it, when a (Finnish: kuulutus) came from the school's central radio (right word?) I was on (Finnish: terveystieto) class and the teacher didnt actually talk about the shooter or anything, just asked if any of us got umm… 'unsafe feeling'…

I hate it when people do this just to get attention. They should think about all the other people who are going to die. Like they wont be the only ones affected and that he is a fucking dick!

Didn't bother me that much really.. But still makes me wonder why anyone would do that?? But I've heard the guy was a fan of Hitler and Stalin or something like that.

The thing I also dont understand is that why did he have to kill other people too? If he's so sick and tired to the humankind and such, why can't he just commit suicide? But I guess he didn't want to leave alone..

It was quite sad in a way that he killed 7(?) or 9(?) people and then failed to kill himself (shot himself to the head and still lived for hours)..

What also bothers me is that how the media makes such a big deal about it.. Just makes other maniacs want to do the same, or even worse, to get their 15 minutes of fame too.

I feel with everybody who has/had a relation to this deeply idiotic act on insanity.

Actually he did play counter strike! He also made a map of the school which he trained in how he would run etc..

It's sad to hear when things like this people. I feel sorry for anybody that knew anyone who died. (Offtopic) Why is everyone on this forum live in or near finland?

I think i saw something like this on swedish tv a chanel called TV4 and the program was called Emergency or something but there was 2 boys who got in their school and started to kill… they killed 30 students (high school) and then shot them selfs…

Jukka I'm from the U.S like many others, there is no worries about it reflecting a bad cast on the Finnish people. Many incidents happen every year where young children or even adults commit such acts. The U.S. is probably ranked one of the highest countries to have such acts comitted. If anything, i send my deepest sympathy to your people and to all of those close to the victims and even the murderer…

I know this is horrible but I'm getting enough of and people saying:"MANIAC!", "CRAZY!"

Alot of people are asking questions such as:"Why did he do it?", "Why didn't he get any help before?" "Was he teased at school?"
Everybody should read his manifesto, it explains everything. I think Pekka wasn't crazy at all, he just tought differently than others. And you call that crazy? Ofcourse it's terrible to kill someone else, especifically children. But I think he wanted to be more like example to others, his primary goal wasn't to kill as many as he can, because he had only .22 caliber Sig Sauer instead of assault rifles or such stuff.
In hes manifesto he also says that he was really interested in existentialism, so maybe he just realized there is nothing to live for and wasn't afraid of death.

He also says that most of people will say he was just "Maniac", "Crazy" or "Insane". But some people will understand the reason why he did it, atleast I do.

I think more people would be bothered if they didn't cover it. I mean like what it your child was in a school where a shooting was happening and nobody as far as news covered it? You would just know that they didnt come home. Head up to the school and find police and other people there with no clue whats going on. This kind of stuff needs to be covered.

This stuff is just not right. It's starting to happen more and more often now too.

Something like this doesn't exactly happen everyday, and the media aren't exactly glamouring the situation. If this wasn't covered by todays media, there is the opposing arguement that it would be considered "OK" to do it, which is far from the message we want to be sending out is it?

I don't think he was insane, nor a psychopath. I understand his views, though not quite so literal. But apparently the reasoning behind his actions was a political one, and he wanted to start a rebellion. He simply chose the wrong way to do so.

He should have studied up on his history. :p

To people in the U.S. it prolly just makes the Finnish look like them… Unfortunately, stuff like this happens a lot in the U.S. (well… more then most I guess). One example that was kinda stranger: A milkman went into an Amish school and took a bunch of people hostage. Don't worry about the reputation.

Nah there was one shooting at -89.
14 years old kid killed two of his class mates at Raunanmeri's upper level. He went to school with two pistols in his backpack and just shot the first guy in middle of lesson. And then he shot one more, but only 3 shots were fired.
He didn't try kill himself, and he "also" (relative meaning) managed to escape.
When the police captured him they interrogated him, and asked why did he do that? He answered that those guys teased him from lower level till that day. Atleast they won't tease him anymore.

The guy who did this played 12 hours WarRock or CounterStrike… Lol and i was in Tampere when this happend
