Recently an applicant submitted a script and forgot to remove his passwords…He recovered the accounts and the IP address matched that of Hey321 a well respected SRL member…. I have given him the status of Village Clown, not an honorable Status….. I'm really hoping their is a misunderstanding here, but if he can't post some conclusive evidence in his defense, HE WILL BE BANNED !

As everyone is well aware of, this kind of behavior is not acceptable here.

The person whose accounts were stolen, took screen shots of the login page, The IP address matched that of HEY321.

I have been known to spend 20 minutes and up sometimes, although not often. That was one of those days. I do not know why he logged on, although I surmise it was to take the items off it, believe me if you will, this will probably be my last post here, as if I am still given the "Village Idiot" tag after you read this, I see no point it being here. If you do decide to take off my "Village Idiot" tag, I promise this will NOT happen again. I will watch this thread, but probably not reply to it.

Well, this really sucks…you are a very respected member of this community, but a few things just don't make sense….

That your "friend" had free access to the SRL Member's forums…and he knew to go straight to this particular application and get these user names and pass words ?

As to your first question, I do not believe he knew to go straight there, but I had cookies on my computer that lets me easily get on all forums without having to log in. Second question, I have NEVER leaked anything to anyone, unless obviously to srl members (which isn't really leaking anyways)

To clarify this. Your friend goes to SRL, goes to Applications, checks the one you ironically posted in and takes the accounts.

I guess this makes more sense to me since I have no RL friends who play RS. Let alone people who understand programming.

All in 20 minutes before you come back, and then he doesnt mention anything at all to you?

Also, the way you reference the hacking is very interesting. "The day he got hacked". You say it as if it has some meaning to you, as if its a special day that you want to remember or forget. Why didnt you just say "yesterday" or "the other day"?

The option of scamming a dragon axe from a friend is a lot different than the option of stealing 7 autoed accounts from someone he doesnt know an will never speak to. Especially if he thought he wouldnt get caught.

I am not an SRL member and don't know all the details, but just by reading Hey's "explanation" it makes me assume he is guilty. Honestly, unless you are a 90 year old man with serious bowel problems, no one takes a shit for twenty minutes. Although it may seem long, most people are out in under 5 minutes, let's say 10 for the sake of argument. As I have read, several accounts were stolen meaning that in 10 minutes, this "friend" had to find the right forum, the right topic, open runescape, change several passwords, and then transfer items from several accounts to his own all in under 10 minutes and then close everything and hide all evidence.

Not to mention, who has a friend over their house and not know his name? I smell bullshit.

I dont know what to think, I have let him borrow 3 of my woodcutters…

RAM would you mind posting or sending me the screenies? I'd like to take a look at them. Though this is not a very compelling story I'd still like to have a look.

I believe his not guilty, but who knows. I say his freind could of went onto SRL Forums and was looking around or something and found the application with the pw in it, it is possible, Peoples these days :D

But also sometimes peoples do a shit for 20 minutes even longer.

Im not sure if hes innocent or not… my bro takes an hour when he takes a dump..i wonder what else he does in there… and who would be dumb enough to log onto an acc with their own comp that they use for srl, why not use library comp. But still im thinking he is guilty because just looking at his last few posts it says he got hacked so he might need spare cash or something and he might be pissed because he got an infraction for talking trash to someone who was trying to help him. Not sure though

Guys, I want to clear This up. I remember my friends name, I was referring to the guy who got hacked. As to the second paragraph, because it would seem kind of supid of me if I got the day wrong? I could have said "The day my friend hacked him" or "The day he was hacked" I am not trying to imply I did it, as I did not. Again, whether you believe me or not, I did not do it, and that is your decision.

Also, I keep Mozilla FireFox open at almost all times. I have bookmarks at the top of Mozilla, letting me click and go to a site in seconds. I have cookies, which enable meto get on my account without typing in my password. He could easily have gone to any site.

It's easy for someone to get on with cookies and all you've mentioned but I got a question. Did they just try to steal the accounts (as in changed all passwords but didn't take anything) or they changed all passwords and raided account ? Because depending on which it was could prove whether your guilty or not.

Two things, first of all, you spelt truth wrong :o. Second of all, that is the truth. As I have stated before, believe me if you will, whether or not you want to, is you decision. Well… TBH taking screen shots or videos of your bank still can not prove your innocence because you could have put it on any account. If the items were raided it makes it a lot harder to believe your friend did it while you went to the toilet.

But on the other hand, there are many ways he could have gotten Hey's IP. One way is as simple as sending him some random file over MSN…lol.

• Next you go to the bathroom, so he jumps behind your p.c., logs in at SRL with your account, searches threads, finds the App, downloads the script, opens it, starts up a runescape client, logs in, wow-it-works, starts a second runescape, logs with his own account, does transfers, logs in next account, etc…, and he is not even a member here?

I do not believe you. This is impossible for several obvious reasons:

• A friend sitting in your room would never take the risk of the abovementioned, because that is not what friendship is about at all.
• The sequence of events described above become more unlikely every step. I mean, c'mon, behind your p.c? While you are away for a pee?
• a 'friend' is the number one excuse and very cheap. You'd even forgotten his name.
• Sitting in your room and not being a Member here and doing what you said he did is highly unlikely.

IP addresses are very unreliable for tracking someone, unless they are static. If you're trying to find out who did it, get the IP address and contact the ISP with the address and a time. In fact, I just went on to wikipedia earlier to find out my IP address was banned for making "false statements", even though I have never edited a page without using my username.

The only way I could find out if it was really Hey321 (or his computer) or not is if I get his IP address of when this happened, his name, and his address. But, of course, that would be very unethical and stupid if people weren't to trust me.

But, if this did happen the way he says it did, he would have been on the edge of being caught. You never gave us an amount of time, you just told us that you went to take a shit.

Call me crazy, but I believe Hey321 when he says he didn't do it. However, I don't believe the story about his friend. That would be too hard to do, especially if you don't know SRL forums too well.

Hun .. no offense, but your friend sounds like a complete noob, not someone who could have done what you are accusing him of doing.

He certainly doesn't sound smart enough to know what a cookie is, how to navigate this site, how to raid someone's characters (cuz if he raided em .. I am assuming he transferred the items to another character??) and multi-log.

You did not clarify yourself enough. You will be permanently banned. And, if in the unlikely case, your friend really did this, you need to choose your friends with more care.

I'm quite a "newcomer" to this community, but I would NEVER EVER steal an account. To empty Paul's chars, he would need 2 players in the same world - Virtual Machine? His friend can impossibly have done this in 20 minutes. Well, anyways - He's gone now…

* Warez: Posting or linking to Warez / Cracks / Serials or any other illegal copyrighted material.
* Keylogging / Password Cracking: Any topic related to keylogging / password cracking, helping others creating / using / discussing / distributing password cracks or keyloggers is strictly prohibited.
* Posting infected files: viruses, trojans and generally any other malicious pieces of software / hyperlinks are not allowed.
* Impersonating: Pretending to be a Developer/Moderator/Admin.

Might want to make it clear so people know that changing a password for their own use is prohibited.

Becoming an SRL Member is a very honorable status, There are strict guidelines and an application process for good reasons. As members, We know we can trust other people that are members as well. It is not uncommon for people to share RS account details and passwords for testing scripts.Would I give any regular registered user my information…of course not….would I give a member….more than likely….

Consider it like RS…."We have conclusive evidence to show you were in control of the account"……but but but…"It was my friend" ….well, it's your computer andf your IP address….if you valued the hard work you put into your account, you would be more careful to safeguard your personal information…..

I am sad …VERY SAD to do this, and I don't want to make an example out of anyone…but I hope everyone can learn something positive from this situation….. While we are all labeled as "cheaters" here , I hold every member to the highest standards….I don't believe the majority of the people here would disrespect someone in real life….. so there is no reason to think it is acceptable here……while it is a game….we have all put hard work and long hours into accumulating these pixels. and we should all have mutual respect for our peers.

RAM, I am told Hey321 is on a router. So, surely in the forums logs, the ip will change from day to day?

Therefore, we can only prove that Hey321 or 'his computer' did infact log into those 7 accounts if the ip from any posts made that day, and the ip address in the screenshot match. If it's from any other day, then surely there has been some kind of mix up like he says there was.

He's blocked me on msn now, after I tried to get information to help him, but I don't mind. Can you just look into it a bit?

I have no clue what your talking about, I am sorry if you think I did this, but it wasn't me, the only half reasonable explanation is my friend did it, as he was here the day he got hacked, although I forget his name. I had to go to the washroom, so he must have taken them then, if you don't believe me, that is your choice, but I have told you my side of the story, however unstable it is, and beg your forgiveness, as this is a great community and I have a lot of fun being part of it.

Do we actually know he stole it? From what I've seen, all that is present is an IP address and some badly worded arguments (from Hey32). If he has been in this community for as long as someone said, I doubt he would steal RS items.


So you Fakawi, should not go with the public and auto-perm-ban him, but should rather look over all of the posts and (despite many of them automatically going with the Omg-IP-Lets-Ban-Him-Now view) maybe give him a shorter term.

Its sad to see Hey go although if he was still innocent I think he wouldn't have blocked anyone on MSN, and probably would have done the opposite and tried to prove himself innocent rather than just blocking people and being "done" with it. Its bad to see people go, and although it may sound bad I hope he's guilty, and we didn't make a bad decision.

Hey321 tried to steal my main a long time ago when i let him test out my smelter. i had a pin so he couldnt get to it. i know i left my stuff in the script but i already sent it to him i couldnt do anything. the next time i went on he tried to remove the pin i had. i didnt really have any conclusive evidence that it was him so i let it be…no harm done. but now seeing this im assured that it was him. if he got another chance he would just do it again… Good choice Fawk and Ram.

Well, I've been thinking about this…I guess we are to hard banning people….I'm sure if we just give people a slap on the wrists, they would never steal again….and they would probably tell their friends….check out this community…just don't steal…or you will get a little punishment…..

Alright, that's out of the way. As i said above i'm very annoyed and i think he got what he deserved, i personally didn't get scammed, but i know how it feels, lost a lvl 91 to a scam when i was a noob ^^.

He did something extremely stupid, and should have taken a better approach. If he were guilty and made a good lie, I would be tempted to let him stay - that would at least mean we had someone creative. He was extremely disrespectful to Fakawi, and he insulted another SRL-Member. In fact, his whole argument was offensive to the community, because he actually expected us to believe him.

IF i were to do something like this (though i NEVER WOULD) i would atleast be smart enough to tell my sister to log onto the accounts from her computer at her college some 50 miles away from me and on a different isp, trade me the stuff. but hey was just stupid :D glad hes banned, we dont need scum like this here
