Friend of mine just came up with an interesting observation.

Basically 'the Assist System is designed to eradicate trust trades; when these are gone, uneven looking trades - like when a collector trades some stuff with a banker; will stand out more and autoers will be easier for Jagex to find'.

What say you?

When I restarted my fighter this morning it still turned the chats that were on to off. Assist was defaulted off, but I know these only check once per option. So just 1 more additional option to add. Easy fix.

Ok i fixed the SetChat:

Goto includes/srl/srl/core/fagchat.scar line 295, and edit the old case statement with this:

  case chat of
    1: mx := 145;
    2: mx := 199;
    3: mx := 316;
    4: mx := 261;
    5: mx := 373;
    else Exit;
  end;

This new system is crazyyy. Borrowing skills. Multi-logging and macroing on a nub to get your main exp? Sounds like a plan.

Does this mean people can borrow my magic level and go around barraging people? wtf? lol.

I'm not sure I completely get the point of the assist system yet.

I had a guy ask for assistance, and I gave it to him. But then the assist screen stays up the whole time. You can't DO anything while assisting, not even move.

How stupid is that? I hope there's some way to assist while you can still move around at least.

Also, if someone with 99 mining assists you, does that mean you can mine stuff really fast, or do you just mine all the rocks at your normal speed? I guess that could be one benefit.

I wonder what happens if you have your main assist one of your bots? Free xp for your main, or would they ban the main for assisting a macro? Dunno, kind of a weird system no matter what.

Wtf? An assist system?! Omg, sounds like a damn stupid idea, just get alot of materials, and let your friend to make you some rune platebodies = both get exp?

I dont know what everyone is complaining about-srl has been fixed before, its doable. Also-i think jagex just helped out macroers A LOT. think about this:
now if you multi log in (or just have 2 computers) you can have several crap accounts working on mining on one account- now all of the crap accounts get more products for more money, and your actuall account gets so much more exp! gaining levels will be so fast!

this is sweet :). I'm getting plenty of crafting xp by assisting ppl lol.

We should make an autoassist. It would be a great way to gain lots of xp. All we need is a continuous typesend of "who wants assistance? I've got xx experience in blabla"

Then, accept assistances, and wait for 5 minutes or so for the other guy to finish. And then record xp gained. That would be awesome.

To be honest the New Assist system is a total load of crap I have ever seen, it's like walking up to my mum and asking if I could have her job for a few hours and then steal here money like wtf?!?

auto assister on the way?? im going to try to find out as much as possible. but a risk is… if we auto assist on our main we have to keep it logged in which might be very risky :p auto assisting your autoers isn't really worth it, because you'd have to do it everytime for everybot in every script.

then you get a menu, only way to keep active is through changing gametabs, rotating cam or talking. I'll still check if you get logged out or not.
You have to accept to assist on certain skills, i'm guessing most people will always leave all skills on >.>
if a stat is accepted 3257337 is the font color, 5069867 is the bg color. if it isn't it's all greyish.

edit: there's a max distance, you have to be close enough to assist. alkharid bank -> furnace is close enought,
alkharid bank -> varrock is too far.

edit 2: if your lvl15 and trying to mine iron, you won't get assisted. but if you try to mine silver you will get assisted. i wonder if you mine it at minimum lvl speed or at assisters lvl speed?

doesn't work. you can only assist one person at one time, and while assisting you can't do anything but stand there. its basically free xp for surfing the internet if you get a productive assisting partner… i've already gotten 12k fletching xp from one guy.

this assist thing is really stupid. if your assisting someone you just have to stand there while the other person goes off and has fun. plus if your being assisted i couldnt figure out how to become "unasisted" because its only if the other person closes the stupid window the thing stops.

Skilled workers are positioned by the user. Unskilled works run between bank and skilled workers.

Keeps your skilled workers from getting lost, which, in turn, requires less work training your army, because you don't need to train as many characters for long runtimes.

I guess if you just want to sign on with you main and have them stand around assisting other people while you play a different char, you might end up better off in the end. I agree with the guy that said it's free xp while you surf the internet. That's pretty much it.

Not as valuable in the long run since you have to be near the skiller and you can't do anything. So if you are helping someone wc, it would be better to wc yourself getting exp and logs instead of just exp.

It's a pity that you can only get max of 30,000xp in 24 hours.

I gained 30k exp very fast with fishing/cooking while assisting.

Its just another free exp option like tears of guthix.

i used it when i was powermining with my noob account i got mad exp like 26000xp

It's actually a well rounded update imo…considering a lot of their updates are so shitty…it keeps people from borrowing skills and doing whatever…otherwise people would alch and loan their friends skills so their friends could make cash (91 rc for example) and they gain the experience for doing whatever else they're doing…the fact you have to be within pretty much the same screen as the person you're doing it for and the fact it stops you from doing anything at all does what this update was intended to do.

STOP TRUST TRADES

If somebody was going to take the time out to make something for you then they wouldnt have a problem with loaning you they're stats and chillin for a second while you do what you need to do.

They would ban both account's. The autoer and your main.
