Dynamic Deformable Template Model Dimension ++
I think its a pretty nice idea, but I cant concentrate making it so if someone is interested he could make it -
The would be added one variable to DDTMs, 'Depth'.
The bigger Depth, the darker the color of that point would be.
When using together with area sizes, it would allow us to more effectively use DTMs on mainscreen.
Discuss.

Nice spam! lol :D
Aww, the topic title shows it as Ddtmd++, not DDTMD++ :(
Yeah, I also think that its pretty good idea..

im not sure i get it, ur also measuring how dark the color is? why would that help

Shadow changes in different angles ;)

Oddly, this reminds me how they were able to store info in a 3d cube.
I don't really think it would be so great - all color spaces have at least 3 dimensions. Its like adding a fourth dimension to a still picture.

Which is plain awesome and revolutionary? :p

I dunno n3s, it's not that nescesary to let freddy edit it:p
Btw, give ues an example of a situation were it is nescesarry, if you van give a good one, we all can discuss further.

Itsnt this like an HSL DTM?

Lets see, the pillar in banks - 'Deposit Pillar' or whats it called, its a good example because it is 'round' so we dont have to mess with too much AreaSize, BUT, Saradomin lets the sun shine through the roofs of banks of RuneScape, so, in different angles the darkness is different, and the more umm how do I say it, the more the point in the 'circle' is away from you, more like behind the pillar, more shadow, and its more 'deeper', undahstawd?

You could just add another point. Or change tolerance. Or make more DTM's.

Indeed, btw n3s, you actually mean te luminance?

Rewrite the DTM system, but now using HSL Tol…. Or atleast, L tol x').

I could make a system to make DDTM's with HSL, but I'm lazy.

Hmm…I still don't understand…why can't you just change tolerance?

Thats what I said Santa. Seems n3ss3s has got his head screwed on wrong.
I posted it as initiative for someone else :).

Oh sorry, I hadn't read your post…
I remember when n3ss3s also came up with the idea of making a DTM Mask…:p Dark and I said it would never work, since the outline is already black.

Well the DTM mask was umm… a similar one to my tolerance invention xD
Meh, I always fail to share and describe my ideas well…

If you wanted a HSL DTM you could just set the CTS to 2 before you searched for it? ColorToleranceSpeed's apply to the tolerance in bitmaps and dtm's too

Yeah, but HSL DTM is not the idea of mine, but this thread can be forgotten, ppl didnt get the idea, or got wrong one….

darkness = luminance? well dunno, but csm(2) might have the dtm colorfinding work on hsl…

GOSH!
I have used HSL DTMs (SecurityGobliner for example), HSL DTM IS NOT WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! Im talking about that the algorithm or whatever sets the correct luminosity for the Depth -.-
Dan Cardin
2007-11-05 14:14:25
u mean figures out ur angle and will set the luminance accordingly?
R0b0t1
2007-11-05 22:28:54
Ooooh…. I think I get it now… n3ss3s, please use more descriptive language :p.
Do you mean that you want a way to change the DTM through HSL? Or perhaps be able to search using techniques that you can only do with HSL?

r0b0t is getting close.
@dan: 'Depth' would be a new var included to TDTMPointDef…
But anyhow, RuneScape is 3D, so, there isnt flat things, like umm for example lets take a fence, and then a gate we want to find in it, so, where the gate part ends, there must be somekind of shadow, even if it was very small.

I think he means like;
To make the color darker based on the Angle(Depth, shadow w\e) away from you it is, Which unless edited by Freddy would be kinda hard.
Kinda like that, Instead of Having tolerance check if it's brighter OR darker, Just check if it's darker?
n3ss3s
2007-11-07 06:51:06
Hehhehhe, the trick is… That it doesn't exactly check… It sets ;)
