Guys, I know it sound crazy, I thinking of this strategy whole night and it will try to prevent the spam and leech in the free member and junior member forum correct me if you think i'm wrong or crazy or the other way round…

Here is my suggestion… How to prevent leech and spam

1. It seem that now a day in this forum, we are facing too many spammer and leecher in the free forum and junior forum, so to prevent them (as we are thirsty for the progress report…) the solution i suggest is SRL Junior member application form which almost as same as apply for SRL membership but in this form we need them to submit the progress report which contain 2 figure or digit of the total time they have run the script in Free For All Scripts with a total of 10 different script report per week or month with the range from 5 - 10 hours script time. And they must include their SRLID for cross reference. Which mean who ever not posting a 5-10 hours progress report with the embedded SRLID in which the SRL stats stated no activity, he will consider as a leech. Posting in forum will not count as an application for SRL Junior membership.

So the summary will be

• Sumbit a total of 10 different script report with a different submission date (Not consider using VM situation)
• Embedded with SRLID
• Report must be 5-10 hours progress report
• Date due will be a week or a month.
• Must comply to SRL 7 Golden rules
• Progress report from SRL Junior member script will not be allowed
• Free member will not allowed to apply for SRL member but allowed for SRL Junior Member

2. For Junior member, which they have successfully pass the 1st test, they will still need to submit 5 progress report with SRLID embedded, with hour range of 15 - 24 hours progress report, within a month range which mean if they fail to submit 5 progress report in a month their benefit will downgrade to SRL Free member. If they apply for SRL member and success to entitle as a SRL member, these rules will not be bound to them.

So the summary will be…

• Submit a total of 5 unique progress report (VM stats allowed)
• Submit within a range of one month with SRLID embedded
• Not comply to SRL member application successor
• This will push them to learn scripting and help the community
• Must comply to SRL 7 Golden rules
• Progress report from SRL Free member script will not be allowed
• SRL Junior Member will allowed to apply for SRL Member

Please give some other suggestion or comment if the above issue work or not.

That is mental! most people arent able to run a script for that long let alone anyone whose just starting out, that doesnt make them anyless of a leacher… and it also is alot of hassle for the mods and admins think how many new members there are…

yes i know of that, maybe the script timing can be shorten or something as i just draftly layout the thing. I can try to amend it…

You probly won't find many Free scripts which could run for that length;
Also, Being able to auto doesn't make someone a contributing member; More like something a leecher would do, However only someone who followed the 7 rules would have an army which could run 15+ hours due to size with a decent script, The longest, I've ever autoed would be 2 hours, I autoed for maybe 40 mins 2 weeks ago xD

Requiring some sort of application; I dunno, It'll be alot of effort sorting through them; However I like the requirement of an SRL Stats account

Give me a new computer or kick me out pl0x. I can hardly get 3 hours. Sometimes (perfect situation) 10 hours…

oh and btw, what if I don't use scripts or scar crashes and I don't have a report? This cuts many non-leechers too……

ehh… what the above state was for SRL junior and below, as SRL member vision was script not auto or leech and if they can't get the report or crash then we will implement the file system in script. Which it will integrate with progress report and i've used that feature before so it should be no problem to state I Can't post the proggy due to PC crash which in fact the report was save to the HDD itself. The reason i post it here was to receive the comment from SRL member first… whether helpful or not

There is 3 or more scripts by WT-Fakawi, they atleast run more than 12h etc..

And some people just cant, there is this monster that tends to shut down computers at night and morning :rolleyes:

Sooo many threads and strategies about this.. But seriously, does it matter if people leech scripts? And they also somewhat keep this site alive too, bring traffic + maybe sometimes click ads.. I think even fawki (or some other admin) said something like that..? Atleast less bills for dankness in that case..

And I dont care if people leech, its their problem, except if they're being assholes, for example make a thread "omg scpts dunt works" and are like "everythin her is shit and dun work u nooob idiotss".. But most of them dont.

Just let them be, if they're planning to contribute, I'm sure they will when they're ready to.. Everyone has been a noob once.

Wtf? 15 hours.. I sleep like 8~13 hours and then I want to check my email in the morning, are you saying that I should wait 2 hours just to stay in this community? o__O

the progress report time is stupid, thats testing their computer not their skill, nice for trying though

Lol, you guys do never read the whole thread. What i mean id JUNIOR and i believe you guy still didn't get a hand on the VM yet. With VM you can do everything you want and you still have your army auto for you. As stated above why Boreas can and you can't think of it.

some ppl cant run vm b/c of their machines…also quite a few scripts in the free section can make 15-24 hrs easy…mostly all the fighters i believe…when not burying bones make it there easily…if setup correctly…but i just think overall its a bad idea

I like the idea.

Too hard though. Three reports that are more than one hour with more than five players within a month. It will be far easier if Dankness ever connects stats accounts to forum accounts. Or maybe we could get RAM to learn PHP :D

They should also have the option of going through a 20-50 question quiz and then submitting a 50+ line script.

I disagree. I auto mostly EVERY day. I rarely hit 10 hours. Leechers would never make it, just leave em be, most of em don't do anything to us and raise script stats.

man its not so hard you just need 2 good coal miners… im using jukka's guildminer i can run it with 2 chars 24 H and one of teh chars will be false after few hours but the other wil run for 24 H :)(i love coal)

It would be a too big requirement. Newbies come in, find a script and suddenly they have to run 10 hours? I started out by trying Wizzup?'s essence miner. I wanted to learn by then, I didn't want to run scripts. This would filter some of the people who are ready to contribute, off.

I like the idea of a 50+ line script, just too prove that they're ready. It could be something like findcolortolerance+MMouse, a small usage of uptext, maybe a writeln here and there… Something basic, yet something you have to read to learn.

But, I like the system we have now, so I don't really see any reason for making a new one.

You shouldn't have to auto to get in to this community. Most of the members (I'm fairly sure) don't even auto all that much. I know I don't.

This community is more about programming than geepeez, and I hope it stays that way.

I Somewhat agree, while most of us (excluding me, damn haxers lol) don't auto much, I believe we should make it a rule that you MUST have an srl stats sig in your signature to become a junior member, OR be able to show it at any time.

OR should we put some competition of SRL stat every month? lol xD Just another stupid idea…
