German/Chinese Autoers

If there were scripts that could be run in the foreign worlds, they would be so nice because most of those worlds always have less than 700 people in them when they are busy. :cartman:
Just an idea. ;)

German world was kinda full, 500 players but the newbies spots had loads of lvl 50's+ lol.
German translating sites translate pretty good. Not much point tho unless it goes quiet once the Germans are in bed ^_^

I didn't find the Chinese servers, but the german servers might be a good idea :P But since we have so damn many autoers, those servers would become crowded pretty quickly.. :think:

Well, if we went into the script and edited every english word that it looks for then it SHOULD work from what I know about SCAR. I am not 100% sure if this would require you to edit some of the SRL includes, but it really wouldn't be that hard and would definetly be worth it!

Correction: Edit ALL the SRL. All the login, anti-randoms, banking, just about anything that uses text would need updating :|

Well, it wouldn't really require experience in the german language, you just have to be able to read everything it says on Runescape and not necessarily need to translate it. I am sure this wouldn't take very long if we got more than one person working on it.
Would it just involve translating the words it looks for into german in all of the SRL includes?
If so, it really would not be
THAT hard. :)

Well it seems that there are times when nobody is on the German servers. Right now (12 AM Eastern) theres less than 100 people on both of the free German Servers. If we make this though I think it should be SRL Members only or maybe Devs only. Jagex would wonder why the free german worlds have 1500 people all of a sudden, and go on a banning spree and get rid of a 1000.

in my opinion, it's a total waste of time. I mean think of the time it would take to completely translate all the includes and programming. TOO LONG :P

Well…
I guess some people think its worth it and some don't.
If someone who knows a lot about SRL would be willing to add me on MSN, you can show me what needs to be translated and I can do it all myself if no one else thinks this would be worth it. :(
If I am the only person autoing in a german world, all for the better… ;)

It won't waste the time let's think about it if scar can tolerate with multi national language and with Flawless auto response service what will think then? Scar will be more human then auto or bots.

I really just need someone with a lot of experience in SCAR and SRL to help me figure out what needs to be translated.
Also, this might be something that I could sell. With permission of course. ;)

I doubt you would be able to sell this since SRL is free and translating SRL and selling for profit would not be allowed. But, I wanted to know where you saw the Chinese servers. I only know of the German ones.

See this is stupid, you do not need to translate SRL! What you would need to do is go and actually find the text in the Runescape and just replace the English text with it. A good example would be if the translation of 'abc' was 'xyz' but on RS they made it 'xzy' then your translation would still not work on the German servers. This would be more than a translating job but one that would require tons of work.

A better example of chinse translation
Hi, hello -> Ni hao ma, Ni hao,
lvl -> den ji ru he, yong gong le duo shao
lol example only…

well it is doable, we only need to change the words we look for. you don't need to edit any of the coding. the only thing is srl is huge, so it's a massive editing.
BUT
type
texty = record
English: string;
German: string;
end;
TheWord: array of texty;
TheWord[1].English := 'hi';
TheWord[1].German := 'hallo';
or even better
TheWord array[1..2] of array of string; //i think
//TheWord[LanguageNumb][WordNumb]
TheWord[1][1] := 'hi';
TheWord[2][1] := 'hallo';
{TheWord[1][3] --> language 1, word 3}
anyone up for the challenge? :p
i had to do a multilanguage website and we used arrays of arrays.

There are no Chinese servers. I just thought there were.

All we would have to do is change the test that SRL looks for to the German text found on the German servers. You wouldn't have to know any German at all to do this.

I agree with that most of the problems in the Chinese language translation. It is among the most difficult languages to understand, write and to translate. It is time consuming also.
3 years…really?
Check the past post's date next time before you post as this was a massive, unnecessary grave dig.
