I know this saddens some of you, and it is actually my hope that it does, not because I want you to feel bad but because it shows me that I amounted to something in this community. The real world is a huge place where it is hard to show your abilities, that is one of the reasons I have liked it here.
Here is how I came about my decision. I was in my bed last night, and I had stayed late all weekend with my friend, so I could not go to sleep. I found myself thinking of different things of scripting, and I looked at my place here very thoroughly. To tell you the truth, this community is addicting. I was not addicted in the way the way you may think, such as 8 hours straight on here, I was addicted in the way that I must get on here at least once a day, even if it was to sit here and do nothing, searching the forums. It was hard to admit this addiction, but I took a step back and saw it clear as day.
I simply looked at what my brother would see. He sees me everyday, here on the computer, at least once. On saturdays when I have nothing to do, I can stay on here for hours at a time and loose track of time. Anyways, the whole story in short is that me and my brother are very close, even though he is three years younger than me. I mean very close. He had no idea why someone would do that, and I used to say it was just because I loved the idea of creating something that was all yours, that satisfaction. But as I have been here, I have been maturing alot. You may have seen the difference in my attitude when I left in january of this year, then came back in around june.
Anyways, I will not be on SRL-Forums until Friday(today is Monday for me). I want to test this addiction. However, I do not just want to leave this community! I want to finish the work I have put into it. Here is a list of some of the people I have started projects with. The list only concerns things that are members and up, else I would have a list about 40 items long ;):
- Boreas - Items(you know what I mean)
- Macrosoft - Get that cooking script done ;)
- Rudeboialex - sorry about helping you w/ miner, I will talk to you on msn
- The scar noob - Helping you in various ways
- Santa Clause - ColorSpaces
- Special Ed - Helping you reformat MSI :D. Good luck, I think I will talk about it on MSN some more…
- Probably more…
I tell you these because I want you to PM me about them while I'm gone this week so I will know what to finish up…
One of my regrets here was never getting the masters cup. I won't deny I had goals, as all of you. Even though I didn't get it, I'm glad I learned SCAR. It taught me alot about programming. There isn't one thing I don't know I'm pretty sure. I have been here awhile… and when I find something I like, I work at it. Now granted, I couldn't make things that were *Perfect*, but that is what SRL is about - changing players if something goes wrong because nothing can be perfect. I do, however, believe I know everything there is in SCAR. (Ask anyone I have helped :D, you can't give me a question I can't answer or a function I can't make.). I have tried to make as many tutorials as I can on these, thus the tutorial writers cup. If you look through the tuts section, I pretty much have a tut on everything.
Now, to leave you, I have one more thing to say. I really care, not cared, but care as in still do, about this community. Some of you may not have known this, possibly a few, but I spent 99% of my time on msn helping new members. On a normal day I would help around 5 people at once until I got off. This is what it will take if you ever want to improve the quality of scripts you see. Please continue to teach the new members on msn.
Thats all I have to say I think, I won't say any names yet because I haven't fully left yet. If you read the whole thing, I applaud you, thank you for taking some time. I may check later today. If I talk to you today, when I leave, or your just see my last post, until next time :).
To whom it concerns,
