…In theory wouldn't it be possible for Jagex to 'stamp out' botting by sneaking a file that detects how many times the UID is deleted, and reporting it back to Jagex, then rank players over 'average threat level'?

meh,, when you've to many different UID files in a short time. they know that you delete the random.dat files very often. and you'll get a bann :)

Are you sure? Did they actually send him 'You are being banned for deleting the UID overmuch' or did they mark it as just autoing?

If they really banned him for deleting the UID on worldhops then…wow.

Another idea.
Even though Runescape's main glory and…shame is that it would run on EVERY computer.
There is already this 'moparscape' out that is really pimp for testing scripts, so Jagex wouldn't have to worry about pirate versions so much I think.
Why not make it so you have to install Runescape? I'm sure the pretty pictures (laugh*) would make it at least a few hundred Megs…This would stamp out virtual machines.

They don't tell you exactly, but Fawk never gets banned, and that was the only variable that changed from normal.

O_o Well, Jagex for sure is too dumb to catch Fakawi ( I certainly am ) , so maybe it was the UIDs being deleted…
Thats really retarded, but it definitely will be good against the 'mass autoers.'

I still have my doubts that they would do that though. I can barely see them having this thing automatically send you a message saying

You have been banned for deleting the UID.bat. Next time, please read the rules, or refer the KB (knowledge base).

Unsigned aren't as fast, and are probably more* detectable.

No i disagree that with UID store in your PC that is more detectable rather then unsigned.

they kinda do have something like that but instead of a file its a ip address scanner
