99-100% MM-North! *Not like you think*

What this procedures does, is:

1) It starts by turning the minimap east.
2) It turns MM against north (but not completely).
3) It does a serie of small right-arrow-clicks (undetectable, of course)
until it finds a dtm of a line (from a house, preferably), somewhere near the middle of the minimap

So, it doesn't just set the minimap-MARK at north, but the minimap itself.

I just need a few people to run this, so I know if this works for others, and then I need them to tell me how it went :P

If you're willing to spend those 2 minutes for me, I'll thank you a lot :D

Here it is:
Procedure MMNorth100;
var
Line,a,b,I: Integer;
E: Extended;
begin
Line := DTMFromString('78DA632C656260706140012FBEBF651001D28' +
'C503E23488D3B116A3CA9A4C6990835DE44A8F1C5ADE63F100000' +
'9B301D64');
MakeCompass('E')
Wait(500+random(500))
SendArrowWait(1,620+random(80))
repeat
SendArrowWait(1,30+random(20))
Wait(100+random(400))
I:= I + 1;
until FindDTMRotated(Line,a,b,620,49,662,98,0,0,0.01,E) or (I = 10)
SendArrowWait(1,30+random(20))
FreeDTM(Line)
end;

Will test right now. Could prove to be extremely useful.

Unfortunately, it doesnt work. It's around 92-95 percent I'd say, but definately not perfect :p

I had the exact same idea as you a short while ago, attempted it but never seemed to get perfect. Like yours xD

Always wondered if you could do this. I'm happy to test, but I'm going to bed now. I'll post results tomorrow if I remember.

Tested it, nearly there not so 99% tho. It failed the first time and left it kinda north east ish. But 2nd attempt left it very close to north, 96-97% ?:P

Sorry, I don't play runescape much. Can you please explain more about what this does?

n3ss3s

2007-10-18 03:25:24

Umm for me "MakeCompass('n') " makes it perfect north?

King of Knives

2007-10-18 07:21:38

Thanks for the results everybody, but maybe 99 percent is a minor exaggeration :P

It has worked about 97% for me each time though.

n3s: There is a random rotation on the minimap. This procedure sets the minimap to north, not just the compass. From my.. eh.. research, the compass can be off by around 20 degrees.

Yes, but it sets the MINIMAP to north!

King of Knives

2007-10-18 07:51:28

No, that's the compass :D

First two times I tried it, it didn't work that well. This last one was perfect :)

*Tests again*

Yech, that one was terrible :| Got it all north-westish…

Kk, even more westish…

Safe to say, it's not perfect, but it is a good idea :)

Fucking christ…Those results suck! I guess it's my bad :P

Remember, this works only if youre close to a buildings wall. I used it in fally west bank - nearly flawless.

Thanks for the results, people.

Great idea I hope you get it better…Sadly I can't test it :(. Maybe you can try testing it in other areas and trying out a few more things?

How about using ScarScape? :rolleyes:

How about you decrease the area size of the DTM points so it doesn't get off so much? HMM?

King of Knives

2007-10-23 08:52:15

The areasizes are the usual 1 pixel… If you mean less points in the DTM, then I say no. I tried that, and it found it after 1 click, so the MM would be set to North-west instead.

@ Varrock East Mine, it got it 99% perfect two out of 3 times. The other time was, maybe around 96%, 97%-ish

You could, find the line color on the minimap using a tol, then using a find pixel -1, +1 find the number of dots on the line, adn then repeat turning until thye all line up…

Because then it can't be used in legit. I use KYAB and that uses legit colours (Hopefully not for long though O.o).

You could make an an alt one for ScarScape though, it is a good idea.

I tried it in the varrock general store, worked perfectly.
Then I walked out to the fountain area, failed all 4 times.
Then I walked a bit more north to the guard path thing, worked two of two times.

Maybe you should make the DTM smaller so it can work in some more places :)

2007-11-14 20:44:41

make it search for a smaller area then check further on the same y axis for a little more accuracy, if none the F8ck that noise XD

Nice, but I prefer the one by XcanadamanX as it doesn't have to waste time turning to east first, which is going to be kinda noticed by jagex if repeated as much as I use his one lol. Nice work anyway.
