First off, GREAT BIG THANKS to THE CLAW and Dark Snipr for helping me get this going….. Ended up, All it took was a restart of the computer….

However, the glory was short lived ….the first time I clicked play from SCAR, it initialized the SMART Client, logged in and did it's thing great….But, then when i tried restarting it, after resetting the character….it is back to it's old tricks that plagued me in the first place……it will type the user name and password, but will not log in…if i log it in manually, it still does not recognize the client……it took another restart of my computer to get it working again, but after stopping the script…it just does the above mentioned all over again…

These last few days have been pretty frustrating….I've been watching everyone here use this for months, and when it comes time for me to try, I'm getting nothing but problems…Granted I'm not the SMARTest person (pun intended), but it shouldn't be this hard…especially if it is being released to the general public so soon…

as always, any help, hints or suggestions pertaining to my problems are always appreciated….

Don't forget updating smart.scar, and including the correct file :p

THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENS TO ME. A few more things happen to me also.

1. When the script is running and I open it up to look at it, it's fine. But when I minimize it back down, it says "NextPlayer" and stops, like its lost focus.

2.(I know Im forgetting something…)

BTW Block and unblock are not the problem, if we have the same problem.

Wizzup?

You guys got latest java?

BenLand100

2007-10-14 09:33:25

And the latest SCAR (3.12c)?

RAM

2007-10-14 20:32:07

I had the latest Java, but not the lates SCAR ©, seems to have solved that problem, Thanks Guys …..

Works Great Now :) Minimizing is great…Compass works…Responder works….

OK, Now, the only problem I have is with the arrow keys…it does not pan up and down or side to side….

and I missed the exact reason why, but I heard mention there was a reason to have to block it and unblock it twice….but it seems like I have to do it 3 or 4 times, for me to be able to use the arrow keys manually….

Unblock + Block + Unblock + Click somewhere…nothing…..Unblock + Block + Unblock + Click somewhere…still nothing…..Unblock + Block + Unblock + Click somewhere + kick the computer…..ahhh, there it works :rolleyes:

Not a problem doing this for typing or freeing the mouse…but using the arrow keys seems to take a bit more doing…..

*little known fact*….I strictly use signed applet when autoing, do to lag experienced on unsigned….my track record for autoing and not getting banned is very good ;) …..So, with that said…let me throw this question out there…when using more than 1 signed applet, I get a "to many connections from this address"….Please excuse my ignorance, but is there any suggestions for remedies around this ?

I had 3/5 unsigned SMARTS running smoothly…upon opening the 4th…the last 2 crashed and just disappeared…..but the first 2 stayed open and running….still going to do a bit more experimenting….

I'm using Fakawi's Cow script, edited to include range…..maybe I'll see how some simpler scripts do…maybe less strain on SCAR/SMART and resources ?

- Nope, no way to log in more than once on signed as far as I know due to random.dat (I think)

- And did you have every scar + smart running from its own seperate folder?

RAM

2007-10-15 07:02:51

Yeah, 5 separate folders, per Fakawi's tutorial.

Ah, well if kicking the computer works, clearly you need a new computer ;) Also, it should be possible to type while blocked… Have you tried that for arrow keys? I'll try it real quick if I can (school computer :))
Edit: Yea, that will have to wait till I get home…
Edit: Yea, I might have to rewrite that part of JNI to keep the damn JVM from crashing whenever anything at all happens… Its too hard to figure out WHAT happend if it commits suicide… :p

2007-10-15 15:06:28

RAM, maybe you need to reset your fpu

:p

I had a few problems with smart crashing, the latest one was caused by trying to load the same world on multiple smarts at the same time.

Dark_Sniper

2007-10-15 16:53:36

Keep on finding those errors :p

I will not give ben my consent to release SMART until the bugs are mostly out :p

RAM

2007-10-15 18:56:42

ok, I tried using my favorite guild miner/ smither hybrid :D…I can get 3 open before it crashes….the arrow keys are working fine, I guess it was just something in the other script I was using…

As far as logging on multiple SMARTS using signed applets, just make sure you use different worlds for each one :redface:

The computer I am testing on is a Intel 3.2 single core with 512 Ram…..

As far as releasing, for what it's worth, I'll give my blessing….I'm pretty convinced, that the average user will be content with being able to run 1 SMART, while still being able to use their computer for other stuff on….But when Andrew comes knocking…I'm pointing my finger at Ben :rolleyes:

Now, lets let Ben get this released, so he can start giving us lessons in JAVA ;)

Static imports allow you to use the static members of a class without referencing the class directly. Take the following example:

import static java.lang.Math.*;

public class MathTest {

public static void main(String args[]) {
System.out.println(PI/cos(5*sin(3)+sqrt(2)));
}

}

I don't see any reason to keep you two secrete, just because you wrote the tutorial doesn't make you an SSRL member par se. I will get to you so that you can post second and third however :)
