Just being clear, I did not write SMART for it to be kept in the shadows. That being said, I would like to know specifically why anyone is against its release. Yes, you can run more than one at a time. Yes, it will increase the total number of accounts per day for Scar cheaters. Yes, noobs will want to use it. Yes, some people won't understand it. Yes, it is A LOT like Aryan. However, most Scar cheaters cheat smart (no pun intended ;)) anyway; if they cheat stupidly, they will be banned anyway, and SMART will only get them banned faster (more accounts stupidly cheating at once equals quicker bans), so whats the problem? Its not like any of you can complain about a super influx of members into SRL, there is a members section for a reason after all. For that matter, it will mean more traffic for dankness and therefore a higher chance he will make more money. I just really don't see the point of keeping SMART hidden away any longer.

Think about it, this is the one single thing that has made Scar less popular than other bots: It takes over your computer. I wrote this to solve specifically that problem (and to rub it in ruler's face ;)). The only reason I didn't release it to everyone out of the blue is that I wanted to work out bugs in an intelligent environment and get a knowledge base built up. Hell, you all figured out how to get it to work on multiple Scar's all by yourselves.

Now, for the real question. I'm still not clear if you all have gotten it functioning minimized yet. Does it work or do I need to change the name? ;)

You mean like the changes that are being made to stop RS Demon and other bots? *sarcasm* Remember, its still Scar, and is still limited to what Scar can do, just letting you do more at once and not tie up your computer.

How can you call it abuse when thats what its supposed to do: Allow you to minimize scar, and by common sense, allow you to run more than one.

I say release it, SMART is like a VM, just uses less CPU, we don't complain how SCAR is being abused on VM's.

I didn't really want it to be released, but who am I to stop you? I just think if it's released, jagex will probably do something to try and "break" it or SRL. It will also probably be abused(as if it isn't now ;)) and leaked(as I'm sure you know, some SRL Members are just there to leak).

But anyway, it works almost perfectly, causes some small errors probably memory related.

On a side note, have you thought about perhaps capping how low FPS will go? That would almost likely stop a HUGE influx of users and accounts being that they can't run 3-4 more.

In my opinion, this should be released. I think that ben hit on the head: this is the one single thing that has made Scar less popular than other bots. IMO SCAR is the most intellegent bot with alot of capabilities, the best anti randoms, and the best library for scripters! Release it, it will become more popular than any other bot! The only suggestion I could make before releasing would be to make it where you can run multiple users easily. If needed, I would gladly write any tuts needed.

Can we just get one thing straight? SCAR is not a bot, it is a color clicker. I'm sure I speak for most of us when I say that a rs2 bot involves some kind of client or class editing.

Its basically simplified to including Smart.scar, and adding a few things in the main loop as it is ;) And, the simple solution to not running multiple bots is to not tell them to copy the scar folder :p

I say if you're gonna release it, release it to the public, not members. Why? If ad revenue is what you want, getting it leaked from the members section won't help at all. You know it'd be all over the RS cheating scene in a matter of hours.

Truthfully, I think it should have fps fixed @ a little below normal. I'd also say it'd be best if it couldn't minimize, but I know that'd never happen….

Oh, one idea: give it a shut off mechanism and a bit of protection. That way, if things go crazy-wild, you'll be able to prevent future damage.

Think about it this way, its not exactly the easiest thing for a leacher to set up. If the tutorial base is in the SRL Members section, regardless of whether or not its leaked, where are they going to go when there is a problem? And if its going to be leaked regardless, why not make the SRL Members feel special for a while at least? Really, its no more vulnerable to leakage than a members script, it is just higher profile.

Who, besides Scar users would be interested in Smart? Why would they want to go anywhere else? Simple answer is anyone interested in Scar pretty much comes here, and leaking Smart to, say, KYAB or IBot would be useless anyway, since KYAB and IBot are clients in and of themselves. (Although, essentially I could build everything a Java bot has into SMART, but we won't go there ;))

About the FPS, Fakawi suggested removing the slider. I am of the belief that its an integral part of running it on slower/faster machines, and goes hand in hand with minimizing. The idea is to have it run in the background without seriously impairing performance, and that is hard for me to predict for each computer/script that might use it.

About a "shut off mechanism", I neither have the resources nor the drive to create such a system. And theoretically, it wouldn't work anyway, since SMART requires no updates unless I make changes or additions.

Is there a way you could somehow limit the amounts of clients run at a time due to forum rank? SRL Junior members, 1 or 2, SRL Members, 3, SSRL + unlimited? If not, a lot of scripts which take up resources in runescape that only 1 at a time can do (mine the rock, or fight a cow) should be moved to ssrl imo. Dont want autoing ruined for everyone do we

Like I said before: It's your treat ben. Everybody is very happy with S.M.A.R.T. (<- cant you come up a more original name, so we can easily query it on the net?, like SCARSMART, or SCASMAT), and even if S.M.A.R.T. becomes widely spread, we are nothing compared to the 1000's of lvl-3 bots all over the place.

I'd suggest releasing it to Members first, let it sit there for a while and see how widespread it becomes in a month or so. You will need to have a seperate S.M.A.R.T. download space, but we already talked about that. It will not be in the official SRL release, just like KYAB isnt.

Once more: Whatever you do, we will back you up.

I'm not familiar with the term, however I can take a pretty good guess at what it means. I'll guess I'll just fiddle with the old sources you provided that I got backed up on disc somewhere. (Not even sure I have them anymore).

It is entirely your creation and IMO entirely your call. The only thing we could do is reject it on the forums but I doubt that will happen ;).

Perhaps a suggestion, make a real protection so that multiple smarts isn't possible at all. At least thats what I would like, but it's probably not going to happen..

Yea, I agree with Fakawi. Release it to members first, and if it does start getting abused then just ad in a 'Kill all' button to disable all the SMART plugins and bring it back to private. But its worth a test to see if it will be ove abused or not..

You can't run many VM's on 1 pc, would be overkill… SMART takes up WAY less cpu…

Even without the slider, it's far better than having to run a VM.

IDK about the name, if anyone can come up with a better acronym, I might consider it ;) I was planning on releasing it to members first. About the download location, I was thinking about something like RapidShare or another anonymous upload place, unless anyone has any objections.

Also, I'm not planning on making any limitations, or authentications into SMART. I've got the release date set for Saturday, assuming I've got nothing better to do ;)

Rapidshare doesn't bring ad revenue to SRL.

I've "acquired" some private hosting off of a friend, if you ever need hosting.

(the package is unlimited, not really unlimited but even if every member on the forums downloads it, it will only be about 6GB bandwidth). It's only about 800mb if the current active users download it.

I could host it if ben is interested… Btw, hosting a file doesn't generate revenue, well except for filehost like rapidshare and stuff of course, if it were to be hosted on SRL or my server there's still no benefits

Reflection is way off of the mark ;) Also, I know why he suggested it should be changed, but my point is, a lot of people don't want smart very public yet, and they don't want it abused. To me it seems counterproductive [as far as some people are concerned] to make the name something that is much easier to find, verses a rather obscure name ;)

well, Iøve been trying to do the math on this for awhile….looking at how many people are logged into the game at any one time…80k+ 140k on average…..and how many users in this forum…33k ….active less than 5k ?…..trying to consider other sites and users out there that use scar and not SRL…or maybe freddy can tell us how many times the latest version has been downloaded ?….anyways…I realize not everyone has the luxury of owning multiple computers…and not everyone gets to leave them on 24 hours a day….so…Iøm trying to figure an average….average user gets 4+6 hours or less of computer time a day…..So, you tell me 5k-30k more accounts on at one time going to make an impact or not ?

EDIT " CODE, not sure what you are trying to say…but one thing i do…for example…I have my guildminer army set up on 2 scripts on 2 computers…1 script mining-smithing , 1 script killing cows….that way, it is constantly switching activities for each player…even if at the odd chance it lands on that is logged in, it just switches to the next…and yes…i took the time to make 40….I look forward to being able to use interscar messenger with them, then the scripts can actualy talk and say who is false, and not just gamble it as i do now

Well not all people have army of 40 players, it'd ruin the purpose of switching accounts, because they'd all run 4 same scripts at the same time with one player… instead of running 2 different scripts on xy players each :)

Think of it this way, now since I'm not really active, I'm probably the only one here without an "army" as such. A few days ago I made 5 accounts, ran through tut island and set up 5 SMART's(yes, 1 account per smart). This was fine and dandy for a few hours, however the last 3 accounts were prone to randoms, such as leo, certers and boxes. Several times I've had to help them, but once I fix up a tutorial island script I will probably be able to fit at least 3 users per script running 5 smarts. It won't take long for people to realize SRL can't solve every random and can mess up at times, thus needing to setup more than 1 account/SMART for a successful nights autoing.

Well today is Saturday, and although I haven't been on this topic much I think releasing it to the public would be ok, although I can agree with saying that an extra 30k auto-ing accounts could seriously do some damage to RS.

I do like the idea of having SMART connect with SRL to give certain "ranked" people different privileges when using smart although that would require the use of an account or something that connects with SRL.

You could do it with cUrl so all you would need to do is check with a php script(Possibly hosted on this website) then even if they manage to find where the site connects to, the username/password = server side.

I think he mean three SMARTS for three different scripts, i.e. 1 SMART it using a miner, one is using a fisher, and one is an autofighter.

As far as the privileges go with SMART if you used like a IP Tracer within smart and that did some cross referencing on SRL then you could "basically" have that users account connected with their SMARTS. I don't think its too difficult to have a program find out a computers IP although I don't know how to find the IP of users on the forum.

ben should put a self destruct in each smart… so he can remotely kill everything if it is over whelming.

Hehe, I won't be here at all on Friday, literally. Sure, I could post it in 10 min, but then I would have to answer hundreds of questions about how to use it. Quite frankly, I couldn't do that if I wasen't here, could I? Please don't try to infer motives from what I do, its one of the most annoying things you can do to me :)

I must be pretty annoying then eh? Naw, It's just that basically what a lot of people I know do, sorry to put you into a generalized category Ben I didn't mean it to offend you.

And yes you can release it whenever you want, and as for answering hundreds of questions I think you should make like a team of people who know SMART pretty well and post their names and have people talk to them as well, instead of just you.
