SRL Members Project

Before posting, please read the whole post.

Well, as you can see, the idea of a scripting competition brought some new life to the SRL non-members forum as well as produced some awesome scripts. It pushed people to do their best and not just give a half-ass effort on their script. In addition to that, the forum has been going through alot of changes like the reformatting of the SRL Free section, etc.

Anyway, I was thinking one day, why couldn't the SRL Members have a script section? Here are some points to consider
  • It would bring some more activity into the SRL Members section
  • We would produce some great scripts
  • Members who can't script well might try to learn more.
  • It would give the members section more of a sense of "family" as I think it should be, not this "i'm going to argue every single post." People will have to work together in order to get the job done
  • It would be overall more fun to script!

It would differ from MSI in several ways:
  • It would only be SRL, as in its not an include also
  • Its only one script
  • People might be able to understand it better. TO be honest, I didn't even look at the MSI forum until Special Ed explained some things about it

I was thinking it may be setup through a SVN server, like MSI. If this is made, I would probably compile a list of tutorials members should read, and if they aren't there, I would make them/ask someone else to.

Although most members would want to help, we might need to think of a way to get people to participate. if you have any ideas, please post them :D

Pwnaz0r, you just have just told me MSI was difficult to understand I would have made it easier to understand if I knew people couldn't understand it, thats why I asked people to post something if they didn't get something.

Also MSI being an include is the biggest debate as of now, I personally think that MSI shouldn't be an include although for the MSI Dev project I was thinking that after a certain procedure / function was made we could alert the SRL Dev's and they could possibly add that function to SRL, which was kind of the main point of the Dev project just some people misunderstood it.

As far as only making one script at a time, MSI should only have one script at a time, it was a mistake I made accidentally posting the two different scripts people could work on and I going to remove one shortly.

So in all honestly pwnaz0r if you'd like to work with me on re-organizing MSI to fit your "view" of it better please talk with me and we could probably get a lot more people interested and understanding it better.

This is basically what MSI is supposed to be, although for some reason people don't ever read all of my post, maybe I should slim it down a bit and break it into chunks, because right now in the MSI revamped thing I have a ventrilo tutorial, an easy SvN setup tutorial as well as an explanation of both MSI parts. Also that family thing you said was originally my main goal with MSI I wanted everyone to be able to work together to make scripts.
