Banned, lol.

Well my 2 best accounts just got banned, including my mates combat 95 or so main.

Account 1 - 38 combat, 73 mining, 40 crafting, 50 fishing - last time I macroed on this was a few days ago, running Wizzup's crafter using SMART. Was never reported, and was alive since last December.

Account 2 - 39 combat, was a 1 def pure in the making. 40 Attack, 49 Strength. 56 Mining, 55 Fishing. Macroed on it using my VWM last night.

Both accounts were 37 mage.

Now the strange thing is, I was just on account #2 5 mins ago, and I traded over about 10k iron ore that I had macroed using my VWM. It didnt get banned for macroing - it got banned for receiving autoed goods, and yet none of the accounts I just traded from were banned. I traded, hopped worlds, and bam I was banned.

Account #1 had interactions with acc #2 the other day, I traded over some leather and stuff. Account #1 was banned without a reason.

What also sucks is my mates main was also banned for receiving autoed goods. What I dont get though, is how I hadnt even traded anything over to that account for at least 2 weeks. And before I traded, I always made sure that the main was on un-signed, and that the autoed goods had been sitting on a mule account for over a month before trading them to it.

So what must of happened is the stuff that I traded over to the main was all kept in a logging system, of the accounts that traded it over, and what stuff I traded. What interests me is how as soon as I traded the iron ore over to acc #2 it was banned as soon as it logged off. Acc #2 was also part of the 6 player VWM army that I had going. Perhaps when I traded over that iron ore, it pushed it over a threshold of some sort, which made it get auto-banned.

I still can't see how acc #1 fits into the banning though. I mean, did they ban it for macroing? The only scripts I have run on it of late are Cowz and Wizzups crafter. Or did they ban it for receiving items from acc #2, which was banned because it received items from the army that it was a part of, while the rest of that macro army still arent banned?

This information could be useful in trying to decipher Jagex's banning system. I am 100% sure that when I traded over the iron ore, from 5 accounts to #2, it pushed it over a threshold of some sort which got it auto-banned. Which indicates that Jagex have decided my other 5 characters are macroers, even though they arent banned. And acc #2 was part of that 5 character army.

I have a feeling that when I wake up tomorrow morning all 12 accounts that I have autoed on recently will be banned, including another 3 bankers. I admit it, I had gotten cocky. I wasnt deleting UID before changing over armies, but I had always traded to my bankers on unsigned. Cause I was autoing correctly, I didnt think I needed to be worried! All autoers lvl 35+, with an extensive auto-responder and they had never been reported, unless they report people without saying "reported", these days.

I will report back in the morning with the status of my other 10 good autoers, please post any similar experiences or advice that you have, so that we can all get less bans. BTW, these are my first bans in 4 months of using SCAR.

What sucks is now I have to tell my best mate I just got his main banned. FUCK

Sounds like they don't want you giving yourself an advantage, but they still want your autoers to put resources into the economy.

Hmm, possibly. I just went through and checked all my accounts, and out of my 12 good ones, split into 2 seperate armies, only the accounts in my first post were banned.

That leaves two possible situations
- They know that all of my accounts are macroers, but they dont want to ban. They want my accounts to keep bringing stuff into the game.

OR

- #1 was detected as macroing by their systems. They banned the other 2 accounts (my mates main, #2) up there for trading with it. This seems the most likely, as the other 2 banned accounts were banned for receiving items, not macroing themselves.

#1 was banned without any evidence given, and all 12 autoers had the same UID.

hrmmm i just got up to turn on my monitor to check out the progress of my guys, and it turns out in the last 15 mins another 35 combat, 60 mining, 37 mage has been banned, rule 7. not sure why, i followed srl's golden rules to the letter. perhaps a script that i ran one day was detectable.

Bans come in waves for me too. Usually a mistake I made in a script. I usually watch a script for hours and hours before going overnight. Be sure to have enough randomisation in your scripts, both in colorclicking and in sequences. Change scripts, dont run the same guys for weeks at one place. Better Log Out than extra profit.

A ban still sickens my day.

Well about a month ago, I made a big mistake in my VWM, I forgot to take out a MarkTime…the result of this was if it didnt make it to the bank first try, it wouldnt continue on to try another way but instead would click at MMCX + 5, or just click on the same spot on the minimap constantly. I woke up and saw that from the debug box, a character had been clicking MMCX + 5 for 3 and a half hours. Another time the same character clicked on the same spot until it got a chicken and died.

I thought that I had gotten away with it, but this was the same character that got banned last night. Do they usually wait a month before banning accounts?

Ouch, that's a nasty one. Yeah, they can ban you after a while. a Rule #7 ban takes a while. but I am sure thats the reason you got banned. They have a very crude "banning" mechanism, only hyperallergic to pixel/color repetitiveness. As long as we dont make mistakes like these, we "seem" to be fine. But we should always stay alert though.

Thats pretty good then, I guess, that the only thing we have to worry about is making our scripts random enough. In my scripts everything has a randomness of at least 5, 5 and it's been fine up until now.

I'll be ultra-cautious now though, I had hopes that Jagex would leave us alone since we respect their game and stuff, but ah well. I know for next time.

And if you dont mind me asking, roughly how many accounts have you had banned and how many do you still have going?

Roughly I'd say I have been banned approx 20-30 times (lost count) and one very dear Main. (My wifes *cough*) All due to stupid mistakes inside my own scripts, or sneaky jgx updates (walking around for hours with an pickaxestick in the MiningGuild, stuff like that…) or being too long on one spot. We still have approx. 40 accounts left. We haven't been banned for the last 6 month except twice for my CraftingBooster (<- my own mistake again…)

We think we have it under control now, but you never know. but, we have grown accustomed to being banned, so we try not to worry too much and inside we know once it will be all over…

Ah damn, that sucks. I know how bad it feels when you get someones main banned, as it just happened to me…not a very nice feeling at all.

So it seems the only way to combat banning, on top of antirandoms and randomness, is to build failsafes for every possibility.. Like you said, walking around the mining guild for hours with a broken pick, because Jagex changed the broken pick DTM or whatever. They could do a whole number of changes which arent obvious straight away, such as that, and when those things occur it would be obvious that we are macros.

To be completely safe, we would need load failsafes, object failsafes and also action failsafes, for every possibility. If it doesnt mine a load after a certain time, walk to bank. If it doesnt mine a rock after a minute, calibrate/walk to bank/logout. Sort of like what I posted on Cowz, about not attacking a cow, due to that gate. It can be sorta hard, but it can all be done..

Thanks though for this chat, its been interesting

What I tend to now is: Make Functions, not procedures. That way you can check if something went wrong. Dont forget to set Result := etc….

I have been setting dangerflags in my scripts for a long time now. Whenever something takes too long, it triggers a flag and inhibits emergency routines or just plain log outs.

Every script I publish uses this technique. Goblins, Guards, Ratz. All build around timed loops, failsafes and breakouts.

Functionality like this:

if Bank(WhichBank,'withdraw') then
begin
if MeltCycle(WhichBank) then
begin
if ToBank(Random(2)) then
begin
if Bank(WhichBank,'deposit') then
begin
if (Players[CurrentPlayer].Banked mod Loads = 0) then
begin
MarkTime(Mark);
repeat
Wait(250+Random(250));
If TimeFromMark(Mark) > 30000 then break;
until CloseBank;
NextPlayer(True);
FTWaitAll(10);
end
end
end
end
end
else NextPlayer(False); // I like this loop :)

The Claw

ah yea, same here kinda:

if not GetWaterColor(WaterColor) then
begin
if not LoggedIn then Exit;
if FindSymbol(Bx, By, 'bank') then Mouse(Bx, By, 5, 5, True)
else if DTMRotated(BankDTM, Bx, By, MMX1, MMY1, MMX2, MMY2) then
Mouse(Bx, By, 5, 5, True) else LogoutPlayer('Not in bank');
if not GetWaterColor(WaterColor) then
LogoutPlayer('No water - bank');
end;

MarkTime(MineWalk);
repeat
if not LoggedIn then Exit;
FindRandoms;
if not RadialWalk(WaterColor, 0, 180, 60, 0, 0) then
if not RadialWalk(WaterColor, 0, 270, 60, 0, 0) then
if not RadialWalk(WaterColor, 0, 270, 80, 0, 0) then
GetWaterColor(WaterColor);
Wait(1000);
if TimeFromMark(MineWalk) > 240000 then begin LogoutPlayer('Lost - MineWalk2'); Exit; end;
until FindSymbol(x, y, 'Mining spot');

As soon as something goes wrong, if it cant rectify itself it logs out. It's the only way to make a semi-good script really..because you can guarantee that these things will go wrong at some point, so it has to do something to fix it, even if its just logging out. like you said - Logging out is better than getting banned :rolleyes:

Hey Guys, gonna Hijack this thread now ;)…I just had my first ban in a year..besides my own main….not to worry though, as it had 7.5 marks on it already(rule #7 Charmz old Williow cutter) and was one of the first in my army …I haven't been using it for almost 8 months now, and as of about a month ago, I put him back into service…was running him on my slowest, laggiest POS machine, using Tara's NewbMiner V.80…not sure what went wrong, as it crashes so often, I can almost never get a proggy from it…..

Anyways..Making a short story longer…if anyone wants to take a stab at trying to recover it…just PM me and I'll give you the details(haven't used appeal yet)…70+ wc/59 mining, maybe 1k+ iron ores on it, etc….probably be recovering it for the challenge, but if you are successful….it's yours…

I dont want a ban with the cause being my script while its still in the works so please dont use it as much unless you edited it (which you did) and you trust your own scripting skills to keep you alive until i get time to finish that sucker

Has Sauron's eye turned upon us at last? It seems that a lot of people are getting banned all of a sudden…

RAM

/\/\ Nope, I don't believe so….My main was my own fault…sounds kind of dumb, but I knew it was the only way I could quit the game…I just thought that after 3+ years of membership, I would at least get a second chance…only had .27 black marks…yes, a quarter of a black mark ?!?!?! for offensive language…and I was banned the first time for autoing, appeal denied…so, I'm telling people, that if you think you don't get banned the first time, think otherwise….

As far as the other account…it was given 1 chance before…and considering I have 50+ characters in my army, with no other bans in the last year…I'm not to upset for loosing this player…actually, I expected it sooner…

@DarkSniper…I use my version of the guildminer/smither every night, with great success :)…It was Tara's Newb Miner…though I blame my POS comp and not his script…

I've never had to worry about getting banned for Rule #7. I pretty much tried to get banned on one of my characters in making over about 50k bow strings but it never came. Almost exactly a year ago I had to characters banned for a week each using Sythe's Autominer which was the first program I had ever seen. Then when I was making my first script I had another character banned most likely for lack of random timing. Other than that, I have only had a few characters banned for Real World Trading that I am not mad about.

Normally if you are banned, it's your fault. If it wasn't a mistake that you made then your account was probably flagged before that happened. That's what I've gathered from it.

Is that the only reason to bring up your grades? You have to pass most of your classes to at least get on to the next grade, don't you?

Yea, I can understand that. Also, my main got banned straight up too, had been member for about 1 and a half years and would have continued to be, but I traded some autoed flax to it (from arga), got banned a week later. But ah well, that ban eventually led me to come here so it wasnt all bad :rolleyes:

But i didnt no he was going to atuo of it.iv been playing alot of mmorpg's and im of sick of them and i really want to come back to runescape.so find it in your heart to let me play

The appeal is actually true, he did quit after getting hacked, and did make the mistake of giving the account to me although he did know I was going to be storing autoed goods on it.
