ok so my computer is pretty old, i'm running at 512mb sddram, and a 1.7ghz processor. (I know it sucks)


I'm thinking about buying a new computer, what's important for running SCAR?

so what i'm wondering are your computers specs.

AMD X2 Dual Core 3800+ 2.01 GHz, 2GB RAM

Running TinyXP, Firefox with at least 10 tabs 90% of the time, few SCARs, notepads, misc, VM with tiny xp, RS and SCAR. Was recording tv earlier also. Been running for a few weeks now (antec p180 case, quiet enough for me to sleep through). No lag. Could probably run more, I haven't really pushed the limits yet.

I'd say get 1-2 gigs of ram. And a cheaper dual core over an expensive single core CPU, especially if you want to use a vm for autoing, because you can set the core affinity between the VM and everything else. Build it yourself, <3 newegg.com

Also try using TinyXP as your main os, you might not need to get another computer, (or if you do, the old one will still be good).

Running Firefox/IE 7(depending on the user), 6+ tabs at all times, AIM, MSN, iTunes, SCAR(s), Runescape, a private server that my bro plays called dodian, media center(Digital TV Tuner), VMW, currently running Tara's Feather collector, :) and i THINK that's about it. :)

On my old computer, i think i had a dual core processor, with a slower processing speed, i think it was only like 1.5.. and i had like 2 gb of ram, and i could run SCAR perfectly fine..

I'm gonna buy a new computer next year with a budjet around 1800&#8364; :)

I won't buy it this year because Intel just started selling Quad's and UEFI is supposed to come this year. (UEFI will replace the BIOS).
And next year I think Vista will be fixed properly (of crashing.)

dam… some ppl have good comps.. my one is 3.4Ghz intel cpu, 2 x 512 DDR ram and a really cheap 256mb pci-e card (6600 LE im pretty sure) ive had this computer for a good 3-4 years and its never ran slow or had trouble with any programs.

i use:
kaspersky anti-virus
Registry Mechanic
Ad-aware Pro
Ccleaner
Diskeeper Pro

with these programs on you computer you can never go wrong, have the same set on my laptop.. and got them all for free off of "insert web page here" (warez is awsome :D)

nah, i know what ya mean lots of hidden viruses and screwed pages.. but. i have found a website that hold links upon links to all the safe/tested warez donwloads :D ive been using it for like 2 years

Dude, I have almost the exact same thing as you! Except I have a C2D E4300. I do love Newegg though…best site ever. And TinyXP is awsome too.

This is fully under a server based architecture (am i dreaming)

Even with this setup, Runescape and SCAR worked well.

This year:

2GB Dual Channel DDR
GeForce 7600 256MB
160GB HD

With this setup, Runescape and SCAR don't have a problem in the world.
