SRL 4 Released.

The SRL Development Team is very proud to present to you SRL 4. SRL 4 is completely rewritten and is thus NOT COMPATIBLE with SRL 3 Scripts. The reason for this is the massive reprogramming of incomplete and inconsistent routines and the deleting of double and even tripple copies of equal functions. The good news is: We did it! SRL is clean now, fast, consistent, and ready to explode under your skilled fingers. SRL now meets our standards more then ever. But the best news is: SRL 4 is auto-updateable from SCAR 3.12! SRL 4 is maintained and distributed through a Subversion Repository here at SRL-Forums! SRL 4 is distributed from within SCAR 3.12. No more installers, unrars, copy plugins etc, SRL 4 is fully integrated in SCAR 3.12. This has great many advantages.

• If RS updates, so does SRL once we fix it (which generally doesnt take more then 12 hours at most) No more waiting for the next "official" release, just update the SVN repository from within SCAR and your are up and running.
• SRL is maintained through a versioning system. Each time we Commit to the repository, SRL's version number is incremented. You can thus tag your Script with a Version Number like this: rev#44.
• SRL can expand easily. We could commit for instance a Bitmap database of most used objects, or maybe even add scripts that will continiously be maintained and updated by the Devs!
• Working with a Repository separates the men from the boys. Installing and using Tortoise SVN requires some skills and will thus not be for everybody. We think this is a good thing. Consider it an antileech measure ensuring our future.
• There is only one SRL! Download SRL ONLY from the repository. Do NOT download SRL from third party vendors. In the evil hands of scammers SRL can potentially be dangereous for your accounts

How-To Download SRL 4.

Download and Install Subversion 1.4.5 from Tigris. It's all SourceForge open-source, 100% trustworthy.
Download and install SCAR 3.12 from Freddy1990's SCAR 3.12 Download

Open SCAR 3.12.

Go to Options…


Click the SRL Download Tab. Select Download Type Subversion Repository.



Click Checkout. A DOS window will appear. SRL is downloading. Wait for the download to complete. Check the last line for the current repository.


Done! You have just downloaded the latest SRL for SCAR. You are up-to-date and ready to rumble!

Keeping Up-To-Date with SRL.

Manual Update.

Once you have properly installed subversion, You may manually update by Clicking File/Update SRL SVN (x->y) or File/Update SRL SVN to Revision.



Automatic Update.


You can also set update to automatic, by choosing Tool/Options…

seems to be an error in the Player.scar

He means the Extended folder. I assume it's not there because most of the files listed there were obsolete.

HowManyBooleans isnt declared in Players.scar, check it out it seems to only be half of what it was before…

yeah the extended folder isn't downloaded.. but im guessing it's supposed to be like that .. i have rewrite like half my script now :(

When I try to run some woodcutting scripts, the SCAR program stays frozen, the scripts does not run, and I have to use ctrl + alt + delete to close SCAR. Anyone knows what I can do?

make sure you have everything installed right then restart computer and then try again… if that fails talk to me again :p

well… i looked at the installation and it said this:
To test the installation, open a DOS box (run either "cmd" or
"command" from the Start menu's "Run…" menu option), change to
the directory you installed the executables into, and run:

This will get the latest Subversion sources and put them into the
"svn" subdirectory.
and so when i tried to do that….. it says cannot find file or something like that….Vista is gay….

Gold… something looks to be wrong with your svn download the one for Windows NT…

same for the guy with windows vista download SVN for windows vista… lol fawk we need to tell them to download the SVN that supports there OS.

i have windows 2000 i completely unistalled scar and got rid of srl then i installed scar and tried to do that thing and got the error

All I can say is to download XP, or wait for SVN to work with Vista…… :\ Or don't macro :p

To Turn Your Operating System From Vista To Xp Go To Office Max (ect.) and Buy a XP re format Disk… Install xp then remove vista, if you ever want back vista buy a vista re format disk or use the one you have (the lab top should of came with one just in case your computer crashed or sumthin ( NOTE: Re- Format Disks Are like $200-$300..) :D )

Guys, if you keep getting errors and such and you cant figure out how to fix them be patient and wait for the acctual script to be updated.

I believe the Booleans needs to be removed from scripts ect..currently they are not working with them.

click checkout.

after that click move plugins.

Svn works with vista fine. I did it couple of hours ago and its pretty good. On my xp comps they work good to.

Yea i got that to on my first try. Heres what i did:
I uninstalled ALL scar folders.
Deleted all srl folders.
So after that there was no such thing as SRL or SCAR on my computer.
Then, I downloaded Scar 3.12 and srl 4.
Then I installed svn again.
Then it worked.

Try doing what I did, if you have vista and cant get it to work.

you gotta update them to work with the srl 4. they added new stuff.

Unfortunately the fonts in 3.12 arent perfect. Maybe before too many people download it, you can replace the 48.bmp ? (The zero that got updated)

Help, please. I don't get any errors when running scripts, it is just that I start it and it doesn't do anything. When I try to exit the SCAR program, it does not let me because it stays frozen. Does anyone know how to fix it, or if I have done something wrong, or if anyone else is experiencing this?

okay here install the subvcersion on first post
the clos scar then go to option klik subversion then okay
then close scar open it op go to file an then click something like srl from svn

I love it - especially the Mass BitmapToString converter (1337ness!). Thanks for making SRL + SCAR even better. Guess I'm a bit late on it (just downloaded Subversion and SRL 4, went perfectly.), I'll check it out more tomorrow.

yes the bitmaps and dtm code has been changed to be better :)

Sweet, SRL is now the only option for rs scar-scripting XD. Well, I mean, it's even more standarized and Freddy1990 has made it even more accessible. Totally awesome; Great Job SRL team. ;)

I got a problem. I wanna install SRL 4 rev#6 or 5. I think i dont have, because i only installed SRL4 (maybe a the beta) when it came out.

Do i just need to install the SRL whats on this forum? If yes, i tried, but i failed. I have installed subversion correctly , and in scar i got this:


Then theres this window, i clicked yes ("ja" in my language).


Finally there comes a DOS window. But theres only a black screen. No text or something.


After a few secs the window is closing.

Does anyone know the problem?

Im using Vista, would that be the reason? Its the newest version and almost all bugs are fixed.

SRL 3 isn't downloaded through the SVN. You can download it in a .rar package. Freddy still has a few versions on his site.

Read the post above you. And to answer your question, the current Srl rev is 4.16. Rev 4.17 will be released soon (i hope). So yes, it's still compatible with the newest scar versions.

Regardless, the tut on how to install SRL and such is very helpful to newcomers - it sure helped me. Before I just manually copied and pasted the latest SRL files into my program files directory. But maybe thats just be being dumb.

a) Search the forums for an answer.
b) Post your problem in the correct place, ("Scripting Help" in this case I believe).

[On a side note, try updating SRL to the latest revision, and make sure you have it in the includes. If neither of those work, follow steps a) or b) =p]

Ehm its because the domain of the repository changed , try using Tortoise Svn, or either use this method http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44230

make sure that you are useing an updated version of scar not 3.12. and use totorise svn.

Or…
Try downloading SRL snapshots http://freddy1990.com/snapshots/srl then extract it into your Include folder.
