Have to make a post. My join date was 2006, and im turning 30 this year, and the childhood scar forum is still kicking. wtf! Amazing administrators, moderators and developers keeping this site alive. With the internet feeling more and more like a group of big TV networks it warms my heart to see Villavu Forum still eith a community. Wish i could prioritize to contribute back. Let me know if you take donations for hosting costs etc.

P.S. idk id youre still around but once again apologies to the guy from here who i used to chat to oh MSN like 13 years ago who trusted me with his account, and my “friend” was keylogging the computer we shared at his house with a big crt monitor, and took your bank, i never made it up to you! He stole shit from everyone and got in trouble with the law later on in life. ????

I say next time OSRS does something like Leagues we work on a script and try to get a botted account on top of the highscores, haha.

Hope you're doing okay @P1nky - it's been a rough few years for almost everyone, stay strong and we'll get through it together

I realize this is an oldish thread but as someone who spent my early teenage years in the SCAR community and who also turned 30 this year I figured I would also drop in to say hello. I recently started dipping my toe into gaming again and was pleasantly surprised to see this place still up and running. I do feel pretty dated given the “nostalgic” RuneScape is still the version of the game that was “new” when I originally played/scripted. TBT to the 2d days.

Editing this because maybe Villavu isn’t going strong? Activity levels seem nonexistent. I hope everyone is having a great Holiday Season!

some really fantastic memories here and on kaitnieks. i remember enjoying my upbringing on a computer, especially around scripting and reverse engineering the runescape client, creating custom clients, and very private vip scripts. what a blast, and im truly appreciative of everyone that i talked to back then

i turned 31 recently, have been dating someone for a while. i think we're going to get married next year :). i've been through a lot of downs in life, but ultimately came out pretty decent. i have a high paying remote job as a senior software engineer ii, so life has been fine in most cases

i wish i could relive my younger years. i so enjoyed them. its good seeing so many familiar faces here

I always chuckle when I get my "Happy Birthday neG!" email from Villavu every year, for that reason this place has always been somewhat present in my mind.

Lots of great memories from this place. I remember applying for forum membership by submitting a script for evaluation, getting turned down initially before implementing suggestions and then being accepted, it was a great feeling.

Autoing with SCAR was my first exposure to programming at 15 years old. I ended up doing computer science at uni and found it came naturally because of the early exposure I had to programming concepts. Now im 30+, have been working as a dev for 10 years and recently transitioned into a solutions architect role (i still get on the tools regularly though). I have to attribute my career path to OSRS and Villavu inspiring me to learn to code all those years ago.

Recently created an UIM to revisit OSRS and I have to admit that im absolutely loving it.

Been a while since I've seen this, not planning on getting into botting but reminiscing on older times I guess…

SRL - forever in my heart!

Crazy to think I was 11/12 when I first joined and started talking to members. Even just the name change back to Villavu lives rent free in my head!

Miss you all so much and hope everyone is enjoying life.

I'm 30 this year and put a large amount of character building and involvement in programming to my SRL Forums family

Oh hey remembered my password, only 1888 days since last login and even that iirc was just a quick visit, and based on last post it's been 9ish years.

SRL was my first foray into programming proper and paved the way for my career. I still have my old scripts saved on some corner on some HDD including script logs.

Since then I've managed to graduate as MSc in Software Engineering (and almost fail BSc by 1 or 2 days :I ), waste 6 years attempting to get that precious first job, experience a company merger, restructure and layoff all the while slowly burning out over 3.5 years before switching jobs with a hefty salary increase and much less work. Pro tip: Don't do tech support kids, it's literal poison… especially without documentation… and as dev whilst doing everything else too.

Still not happy about my life, but the trend is finally getting more positive, and it better stay like this. Except me hitting 30 in two weeks, that ain't positive.

Crazy so many of us are all on the verge of our 30s, I just turned that corner a year ago. I ended up pursuing HVAC, now I've been doing that for 10 years now with no regrets Really good pay and now I get to apply automation in the real world!

Too bad things have slowed down in SRL, glad you all are doing well!
