Please write down a paragraph about Yourself.

I've had to do this 3 times now…I've been scripting in SCAR for about 1 year and 1 month…I have an include…Umm, as stated above I'm a Global Mod and Community Member on Freddy1990.com…I have yet to have a challenge I couldn't overcome, I can do anything I want to do on SCAR, well at least so far and all I really do is script in my spare time.

I just did everything you guys told me to do last time…

I suggest using more SRL standards (IE CamelCaps!) Reserving vote…

Jeez, calm down. I'm on the verge of thinking that you are the next Born2Code. Standards are important. They allow people to read easier. No, they aren't very good and that's something you need for your app..but I'll see what others say. It's not the most important thing an app has to have, as it does not affect the script, but if you do have good standards, things will be easier to fix/read.

No vote yet.

Thanks, BTW, I have standards…I looked up what they are…The ONLY spot I don't have them is when it declares the form…And that's because I forgot and when I loaded everything it came like that.

I've been really stressed out and that's my second time getting really mad, sorry but thanks, I like it when things are explained better.

Aslo mind telling me how I don't have standards please? Thanks :)

Edit: BTW I don't think I want to be BTC right now http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16863?t=18499

… Don't spaz like that, even if you are mad. You need to learn how to take criticism and improve on it. For the names of functions, procedures, variables, constants all need to be capitalized. Camel Capping is when you have two words as one of these names, and capitalize both. EX:

procedure CamelCap;
var BlahBlah
begin
CallFunction;
DoOtherStuff;
end;

EDIT: I don't think I have done anything to piss you off… Still reserving my vote.

I said stressed ask Freddy I'm not normally like this.

Personally I hate having caps on everything, I think it makes it harder to read.

I am starting to put caps on procedure names to make it look nice but other than that all caps makes it too hard to read for me.

Edit: Sorry, really I'm sorry, I don't normally get angry…I'm quite calm but I sorta felt like I was being treated like an idiot…Sorry.

it looks pretty good, but why dont you just use the srl functions that are already made for you? would be a lot easier, you obviously know scar very well but im gonna say no just for the fact you could have use srl more than what you did

like i said you know scar very well, more than me i know for a fact, but this isnt 'scar' its 'srl' if you know what im tryin to get at

Mind elaborating? I have used re-created some that did not work well enough. Like I may have use ms colour finding or mm colour finding or inv colour finding. Please post some examples?

Sorry, no I don't see what you're getting at, if I can script well with or without SRL I should be fine shouldn't I? The functions and procedures in SRL don't use SRL because they are what define SRL, my goal is to be a developer.

well if your goal right now is to develop things then ill change my vote, but what i was tryin to get is instead of making perfect mouse why not just use mouse? i see the perfect mouse is suppose to have a delay and shake and what not but mouse works perfectly fine…just that was the big thing

I guess I was excited…Umm, I think because I was in a rush one time and I couldn't remember all the parameters mouse needed and obviously I knew perfectmouse's. Also perfectmouse is going to be put into SCAR anyways.

I like mouse I really do, I like it because it works well on slow computers and well on fast computers but I like perfectmouse because it works well on fast computers and I think it seems more human-like to use two different mouse procedures.

Mouse procedures could always randomly use different moving operations to reduce detection.

Thanks…I'm working on a huge script that I'm going to make paid/SRL Members. With like no security on the SRL members one because well I don't think anybody will take it…and with well encryption and all that on the paid one.

I'll release like 100 beta's on SRL and a final full version for paid (And of course final version on SRL)

Thanks a lot guys and aww such a long wait for somebody with no patience at all :). I don't like waiting lol.

P.S.: I know I can't sell things on SRL, I'll sell it on Sythe or something. I also don't really want to discuss it until I at least get beta 1 out…which I'll release another beta when I finish each working section.

I read your post before you edited it…I understand you are a bit stressed, but…What is your real motivation for wanting to become an SRL member ? ..Even if you say things out of anger, this means they are still in the back of your mind…and if something to the affect " I really don't care if I become a member" is in the back of your mind…than I just have to wonder…

While you have applied with a nice script…this only part of the requirements…Attitude is a big deciding factor…you have already quoted B2C…He had a poor attitude…then played it cool until he got in…and look how it turned out ATM….

I hate to play Devil's Advocate here…but it's my job…I'm just trying to look out for the best interests of the community, and I hope you understand….

~RAM

BTW, I hold my vote as I always do… No sense committing to anything until you have all the facts ;)

TheGuyWhoGotOn

2007-09-05 20:22:17

I understand fully. I have often wondered why I want to be an SRL member…For a while I didn't care..If you have read my first app you would know that. However SRL IS the greatest community out there and if I want to be with great people in a great community I will have to be in SRL.

As far as I know it is in the back of my mind but I don't know why I said those things I know at the time I meant them but I hadn't thought things over. After I began thinking of how great this is and how he may have only meant for the better but how would I know that? I just insulted him before I knew anything, he obviously did something good to get into SRL.

RAM I 100% respect you and your decisions I will try to keep everything in check for now on.

P.S.: I'm not like b2c I'm in a few other communities about Unreal modding and stuff like that and Freddy seems to like me :P, so how bad can I be? Also b2c seems like more than an angry guy but overall a bad person…

Edit: It really sucks how I had to make that post but I guess it's for the best that you read it

Edit 2: In my first app I said it because, well I was going to make the PH include but now I'm thinking of taking the RS section out of my PH include and contributing to SRL.

I didn't make it specifically for this script…I just temp-forgot how to do the procedure mmouse so I just put in perfectmouse because I was in a rush. I also think that it may be less detectable with 2 different mouse procedures going on.

The SRL 4 beta is VERY messy in a lot of spots…my SCAR wasn't responding for code hints…But it's not really a big deal really, if you guys want me to that badly I'll use mmouse.

Also why are people voting no without posting? It's really annoying.

The dropping isn't consistent with each computer…I'm going to make it be though, it's fast on my computer but I know from experience it isn't on others. I'm going to make it send reports after it drops the logs and not while it's dropping them.

2007-09-06 18:46:02

Well after looking through your script I've noticed quite a few things, sadly, most of which are not good.

First of all, do you understand cases and what they are? They are a very useful tool when you need to set a specific parameter if they users sets a particular variable like in your "SetCB" procedure.

Yes, your standards aren't great but I won't criticize you much for that because when I applied I had horrible standards.

In your "FixRandoms" procedure you don't need to set bitmap mask, the procedures that use it already set it and free it, so your just wasting memory with that.

"ReceiveLogs" is really basic I don't think I really needed its' own procedure but thats just preference. Also I haven't tested yet but from looking at it, it looks like it will lag horrible due to a FixRandoms every 1/2 second.

Good job on PerfectMouse I'm glad that it's going to be implemented into SCAR it looks very useful. Ummm… doesn't look very "Humanized" from looking at the coding but I'd have to see it in action.

There is no SRL, which in most cases is an automatic "no" since it is a requirement, also there is poor multiplayer which is another requirement to become an SRL Member.

You really need to learn more before you can become an SRL member, and personally you don't even know cases… don't use SRL, and ppor Multiplayer, along with poor standards I honestly can't give you a yes.

So try and learn cases, look up proper standards, and use SRL, and better Multiplayer and I can pretty much guarantee you'll get in, but for now I'm going to vote No.

P.S. For those of you who voted yes, please look through some of the requirements to become an SRL Member. Even though he wants to become a Dev you need to start at the bottom and work up, even if you don't like, or want to, you have to.

TheGuyWhoGotOn

2007-09-06 21:31:11

Whoa, whoa whoa. I have Multi-player and it doesn't lag horribly. I know of cases and have a vague understanding of how to use them. I was told to place that bitmap mask thing in but I will remove it. I also have used SRL, that's what my script is based on…This seems really brutal I don't think you read my full script. I even used forms, I used every idea that came to mind.

Please tell me a specific important requirement that I missed.

BTW, thanks for posting why you said no, it really means a lot.

Edit: It's annoying how people will vote no without posting :(

Edit2: I started 1 years and 1 months ago, I can script anything I want to so far…

Well, its not necissarily that you didn't use multi player I just feel that it isn't used effectively. I'll change that in my above post to be more clear. Also your welcome, I feel that it is important for people to learn from their mistakes.

Also for using SRL, your script doesn't need to be based off of SRL it must use SRL and SRL functions.

I did most of the time though…A lot of colour finding procedures were too over-done and game me run-time errors in SRL 4 Beta…I just tried to make things simple…I know quite a bit about SRL but I'm not perfect, nobody is. I know lots more just about scripting in general…Lets put it this way, most of the time I find it easier without a partner but it's always nice to have one. Somebody to talk to, somebody to help when I get frustrated.

I see SRL like that, a great community with great scripters, that's where I want to be for sure. I want to be with good people with great skills who I can relate with instead of being stuck around with the leachers for the rest of my life. I need somewhere to go and I'm a forumer (As Freddy has noticed), I love Freddy1990.com, I check the forums every day and I have read every post except maybe 21.

I feel I could make a great contribute to this community and I hope others feel the same way.

Edit: My multi-player has it's functional use, nothing more nothing less. I think the script is almost everything it needs to be for a non-member script ;).

end;

procedure willow1(sender: TObject);
begin
if willow = false then
begin
willow:= true
exit;
end;
if willow = true then
begin
willow:= false
exit;
end;
end;

procedure yew1(sender: TObject);
begin
if yew = false then
begin
yew:= true
exit;
end;
if yew = true then
begin
yew:= false
exit;
end;
end;

Those can all be combined into one case:

procedure AtClick(sender: TObject);
begin
case Sender of
CheckBox2: if (Regular) then Regular := False else Regular := True;
CheckBox3: if (Oak) then Oak := False else Oak := True;
CheckBox4: if (Willow) then Willow := False else Willow := True;
CheckBox5: if (Yew) then Yew := False else Yew := True;
end;
end;

Hell, you could just make it into a ComboBox instead of a CheckBox. You can use cases with RadioBox's too.

On the progress report you could if used TimeRunning from Timing.scar.

if burnlogs1 = true then —> if burnlogs1 then, looks nicer. Same with all booleans.

You can start using MSX1, MSY1, etc.

procedure recievelogs;
var waited: integer;
begin
waited:= 0
repeat
status('Waiting for logs');
wait(500 + random(500));
waited:= waited + 1;
status('Checking/fixing randoms');
fixrandoms;
until((finddtm(yougetsome, xx, yy, 13, 440, 268, 458))or(finddtm(yourinv, xx, yy, 13, 440, 268, 458))or(waited = 20))
end;

Do you want that to result true everytime there is a log in your inventory, instead of only when there is a new log in your inventory?

procedure fixrandoms;
begin
NickNameBMP := CreateBitmapMaskFromText(Players[CurrentPlayer].Nick, UpChars);
findnormalrandoms;
findfastrandoms;
if findfight then
begin
writeln('You are under attack');
runto('n', true);
status('Under attack, running away');
end;
if finddtm(lvltouse, xx, yy, 9, 442, 495, 458) then
begin
writeln('You lost all your axes, logging out...');
lost:= lost + 1
reportvars[2]:= 1
reports;
logout;
end;
end;

Make the nickname bitmap everytime that procedures is called will cause alot of lag. Everything in FindFastRandoms is in FindNormalRandoms which also causes extra lag.

if ran = true then
begin
perfectmouse(xx, yy, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, true);
end;

Looks better —>

if ran then perfectmouse(xx, yy, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, true);

The way you set up multiplayer is very confusing, and hard to explain why it's not right. Read some other scripts and you should catch on to how it should be used.

"if users = 0 = false then" —> "if not users = 0 then"

SetupSRL;
ScriptID:= '243';
SafeInitForm;
SafeShowFormModal;
setup;
pin:= edit1.text
setcb;
movetotray;
FindWindowBySize(766, 504)
activateclient;
mcbox(521, 5, 551, 432, true);
status('Logging in and setting up');
LoginPlayer;
wait(1000 + random(1000));
makecompass('N');
HighestAngle;
fixchat;

Having all that in the main loop is just ugly. Have a separate setup
procedure.

I skipped around alot and didn't cover the whole script, but those are some specific things to work on. You know alot about Scar, you just need to iron out the small things into your brain like standards. Make sure you understand the functions and procedures you use.

I might vote, I havn't decided.

I've very new with forms…Also a combo box…Let me see what that is…(I didn't read any tutorials except Freddy's), no…because I want people to be able to pick more than one option…Receive logs checks to see if there is a log in the last slot so it knows not to wait…I've acknowledged that I need "NickNameBMP := CreateBitmapMaskFromText(Players[CurrentPlayer].Nick, UpChars);" out already…I don't see:

if ran = true then
begin
perfectmouse(xx, yy, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, true);
end;

Oh, I found it…I need to fix that, it's in at least 2 spots, I don't know why I did that…oh I remember, it used to be longer but I made perfectmouse so now it's shorter, I've had it for a while before this script was for SRL, I'll fix that.

[offtopic]Fix chat doesn't work :([/offtopic] I know it looks pretty bad on the main loop, I'll make a setup procedure for everything.

Thanks for the comments :).

Boreas, whats the meaning of that CTRL + Space? For me it just moves 3 things from task bar to tray?

Oh noe, boreas are you saying that you have tons of scar windows open always so you press CTRL + Space?

lol, and by the way, you have no idea how to do a pretty edit :)

This is how the true masters do it

Lol, I wonder do I have enough avatar space to put that there…

If you remove all CTRL SPACE shortcuts from all other running applications, and then press it in SCAR, it bring up the auto complete menu with the parameters each function uses

A very useful tool

Typing "." in SCAR only works when you are using types, and not when you want to see the auto complete menu.

I hope you haven't tried typing in "FindColorSpir." and waiting for the auto complete menu to appear. It just won't happen.

Besides, he asked what was CTRL SPACE used for, and i answered.

Now we are going off topic, lets discuss TGWGO's SRL Member app. If you would like to continue this discussion, make a new thread in the appropriate board.

101% yes, but why for is SRL made, you can do lots of things easyer, use Srl Manual… some functions are removed after srl 4 release, so if it gives unknown identifer open file where function is located to and be sure its there… else you need to make it yourself:)

This time I am going to vote no. You have a decent knowledge of how Scar works and you tried your best to use at least a few procedures from the SRL, but I don't think you understand everything you're using. Either you had some help with the script, you took some procedures from other scripts, or you kept trying different things until they worked.

Start by moving to the intermediate tutorials forum, then apply again in a month. I don't think you will have a problem becomming an SRL member in the future, but I think you are giving yourself too much credit so far.

Why do you think I needed help or tried 100 times? I've read lots of the manual and it's not up-to-date with even SRL 3.8 and I still ended up getting it, or I would just read through the files in SRL.

Not everybody gets an SRL script right their first time you know…I'm annoyed how it's based on SRL coding when if I know SCAR well and have enough knowledge to be confident in scripting with it I think that should be fine. I can use SRL and have used it how I was told to on my last app, do you want me to make it perfect or something?

Edit: By the way, why are you so sure that I won't get in? I have 17 yes and 7 no…?

Edit2: I didn't try my best…I don't want to give anything with my best away to leachers…But I can honestly say that you're right, basically all I used was multi-player and anti-randoms. What else do you want me to use? I have a bad/good habit of doing everything myself and asking questions later.

Edit3: I also used like chooseoption and banking…

I didn't say that you weren't going to get in. I don't think that you should get in, and I do think that you should move to the intermediate section of Tutorial Island. I thought I was being helpful in that.

I think that you have gotten help because you don't understand all of the procedures you made. Clearly you don't understand forms very well, you also have wasted procedures (maybe to make your script longer, or else because you don't know how to work without them). I don't think you understand cases, at all.

(I just noticed this):

until((finddtm(yougetsome, xx, yy, 13, 440, 268, 458))or(finddtm(yourinv, xx, yy, 13, 440, 268, 458))or(waited = 20))

That confused me before because you start looking for the DTM at (13, 440). What good does that do besides make Scar look for the DTM in places it doesn't have to?

Another reason I don't think you understand your procedures is because you have MSColor and ClickMSColor (neither of which do all that much). MSColor is not used in ClickMSColor? Same with InvColourTol.

Dropping procedure could be much better using InvBox and ExistsItem, etc.

if (regular = true)and(findoption(' Lo')) then
begin
chooseoption(' Lo');
result:= true;
end;
if (oak = true)and(findoption(' Oa')) then
begin
chooseoption(' Oa');
result:= true;
end;
if (willow = true)and(findoption(' Wi')) then
begin
chooseoption(' Wi');
result:= true;
end;
if (yew = true)and(findoption(' Ye')) then
begin
chooseoption(' Ye');
result:= true;
end;

That's horrid.

Another note, use "if not ()" instead of "if () = false".

If this is your first SRL script (you said if it was your first time, I'm not sure how to interprete that) then I definately don't think you should be an SRL member yet. If you think that scripting using the SRL is annoying then stay over at Freddy's site. I'm not saying it's bad forum (which it definately isn't), but these are the SRL Forums. Good luck in the future.

Honestly right now with the way things have been going you'll probably get in its just we've been getting some "inadequate" people in SRL Members and personally I think they haven't been around long enough or have high enough standards to vote, before I though SRL Members was next to impossible to get into, I thought it would be a great feat to accomplish, and in the time I've been here, I've noticed the deterioration of Applications, except a few. I'm not saying that your a horrible scripter I just think you need more experience before you can be an SRL Member.

[offtopic] Really I think with the large influx of people we should make Members at least a little more difficult to enter, or at least bring it back to the way it was.[/offtopic]

On topic however I'd like it if you TGWGO, would do two things for me… if its not too much to ask.

First: Please look up cases in the tutorial section if you haven't already, it would benefit you greatly. Also check how if(Function)then works, not if(Function = True)then… since that is improper "grammar".

Second: Use SRL, please… although you want to be a dev, and you think its easy to use it, please just use SRL completely in a script, use a lot of SRL function / procedure and make it so it looks like you know what all of the functions do in SRL, because to me being an "SRL" Member means you know "SRL" pretty well.

It looks for the DTM in the chat area…how is that useless at all? "If not ()" instead of "if () = false", why? It looks better and I'll get more confused…I really don't see why I should do something like that because it looks better or it's "proper grammar".

I used MScolour and all the others you listed there…without declaring the procedures the script would be much longer. Every version of this script was shorter than the next. How could my script possibly be longer with using those?

InvBox isn't in the manual I'll look for it…No, I won't use that, that would just drop everything from what I see…I could just use "dropall", I need it to only drop logs…not axes and anything else it came up with. Check the older versions of the script, it used to be morel like that.

When you were talking about my dropping procedure you showed me my firemaking procedure, it MUST have that just incase it can't burn the logs. I could make it look for chat text but I prefer to have it that way, more human-like instead of trying to burn everything.

Special Ed:

I normally don't have "if function = true" please tell me where I have that, I understand how it works.

Also on a more accurate note, this isn't my first SRL script, it's my first SRL script that is more than 200 lines long I guess. Maybe my third or so. So my first one that I've make in a year.

Ummm there are a couple more instances but this is the first that caught my eye.

procedure clickmscolour(colour: integer; left, ran: boolean);
var xx, yy: integer;
begin
if findcolor(xx, yy, colour, 4, 4, 515, 337) then
begin
wait(100 + random(200));
if ran = false then
begin
perfectmouse(xx, yy, 0, 0, 2, 2, 2, 2, true);
end;
if ran = true then
begin
perfectmouse(xx, yy, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, true);
end;
end;
end;

instead of if(ran = true)then you could type if(ran)then same with if(ran = false)then could be if(not(ran))then I guess it is just preference but I think it looks nicer and is easier to read as well as shorter to type it the way I showed you. This is just a little thing, but when I read through your code it kind of bugs me… lol.

Oh, I understand it now. I didn't know what it was a DTM of. If you keep doing if () = false then it will mess you up in the future if something does not result false and results nothing instead.

InvBox only results the coordinate of the inventory slot. It doesn't drop for you.

I wanna be a dev, of course I need to learn more SRL to get the full inside of SRL besides the essentials. All of my scripts for now on will be using SRL and I'm working on a big script (As previously posted) that will put my skills to the test and I'm hoping to help the community with it.

I hope to maybe get other people to add their own ideas to it too because if I want a project to help the community I should maybe allow other people to contribute and be credited.

@Town:

Well, I normally want it to return true or false and if it doesn't I'de like an error.

I used to have the ms function in itself…I may do it again but I prefer having two separate functions/procedures.

If I used those for the inventory then wouldn't I have to use Uptext which seems to slow things down?

I admit, I don't understand cases well enough to do that :(.

I'll fix all of my true's then, sorry.

(Everything is in order sorry for not quoting)

Edit: I think it should be mandatory for people to post why they said no because how will anybody improve if they don't know how to?
