The maker of the popular RSC bot STS (reines) has been working on a private server lately. He's got it all setup with a lot of stuff working.

Fighting, banking, mining, fishing, woodcutting, firemaking, etc all good. It's still in the beta stages, so it's not all complete or anything yet. But it does look promising. I know for a fact there will not be any quests. In fact he's removed the quest tab and replaced it with a general information tab about your connection info etc.
Accounts go out by invite, i currently don't have any so good luck with finding one.

I never liked RSC much, it always confused me, how everywhere I was people constantly were fighting… I dunno, I never got any farther than were you start.

once the invites go out itll become easier to get on. No on likes a sever with nobody on it, if you look you'll get oen.

RSCD Rules

In order to keep RSCD running well and to prevent any problems, please follow these simple rules. You must agree to this set of rules before using RSCD. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of the Staff Members.

• No cheating/macroing. Exp has been raised slightly and items made easier to get, there is no need to auto.
• Respect all players, being higher level than someone doesn't make you better than them.
• Do not ask mods for items or stat editing, they could not do either even if they wanted to.
• No scamming. Items should be worked for fairly, there is to be no attempting to steal or deceive others into giving you their items and/or password.
• If you find a bug, you must report it to an admin. Using any bugs for gain will result in a ban.
• No impersonating other people. This includes mods aswel as normal players. (ie. don't register nicknames that aren't yours).
• You may not share your character with other people.

While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure RSCD is not disrupted or abused in any way.

Maybe I am just dum…but what is the point of a private server ? Especially if you can't cheat on it ? Why not just play the regular game ?

Well RAM, after a few years ago, Jagex stopped letting people create accounts for RSC and made it only for members who alrady had an active RSC account.
I didnt even know RSC private servers existed!
Ill try it just so i can use @ran@ and walk though a door and hit my head on the top of it.
Except for that i think rs2 is better :p just good memories on RSC though =)

yeah I'm still interested in how we could obtain invites, because going to the site, it seemed like they didn't really want a whole lot of new members.

Lol, nice. Its been awhile since ive seen anything like that. I remember using the sleeping bot over over IRC with other users inputting the codes to recieve points. Classic.

Originally, RSCDaemon was an april fools joke, which succeeded in fooling a large number of users. A few days afterwards, it became an actual project, and as of now RSCDaemon is a half finished private (emulated) server for Runescape Classic. The original base was developed here. The source is available for anyone interested.

Ok after being on the IRC for a few days, you pretty much have to coax an invite out of someone who has one, which isn't easy, since they are suspicious of EVERYONE. Kinda hopeless.

EDIT EDIT: Original invite cancelled. Got another one. Now I have 0 invites though. Sorry guys.

Invites are only supposed to go out to people you know… So unless you know someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows reines, your out of luck. But knowing someone who knows someone who knows reines isn't that difficult of a task. Invites don't go out through IRC really… just gotta know people. It'll spread like a tree once reines starts allowing others to invite people.

Ok the guy who invited me earlier canceled the invite, but luckily I got ANOTHER one, so I'm still on, but i have 0 invites at the moment.

Ok Sniper well I have 3 people who want one atm, and I have 0 invites. I think you get 1 a week for a normal member, so as soon as I get them I'll send them in order of people who asked. But at least SRL has someone on the inside now :)

Anyone a member there has the ability to invite people. They get 1 (or 2 if they "subscribe") invites per week. So it shouldnt be bad. Problem is you gotta know someone who can vouge for you, saying you're not a nub/jagex.

wow, alot of rsc memories here.. i ended up autoing and got my main banned, i had a pink phat on rsc and blue mask + alot more on rs2, a short while after that i ended up quitting runescape, i might try this out but, how do we get an invite?

I loved rsc. Quit rs for a long time when rs2 came out beacause I loved rsc so much.
