This Forum is Free For All. Every registered user can view, download and comment on this forum. Only registered users can download script attachments, so if you're a visitor just passing by, why not sign-up and join the community.

Inside this forum you will find powerscripts that level certain skills, but you wont find any Harvest/Banking scripts. These are all reserved for contributing registrees, SRL Junior Member and up. All Banking scripts will be removed from this section.
You become a SRL Junior Member by spending 7 days as registree and having 10 posts.

Only Admins and Moderators can make threads in this section. If you think your script should be in this section, PM either WT-Fakawi, Wizzup, Sumilion, Yakman, Tarajunky, Hobbit, Rasta Magician, ZephyrsFury, Markus, nielsie95 or mastaraymond and we will judge whether we think your script should be moved to this section or not.

I plan to give feedback on all the scripts I use.

imo, this isn't really going to help too much, as now people will just flood other sections of the forums with random topics/posts. In the end it will just increase spam and only temporarily reduce leechers.

Good idea though, I think the old rule was a little too long.

i dont think they check all the post. the just sometimes check a few. and when someone is realy spamming his post count gets rested :)

agreed but why we dont do 14 days and 50 post and give a good look at spammers because i had 1000 new post my normal record was 600/700

I doubt Fawki started as a leecher. Adults aren't usually greedy…and he's older than us all.

Though, Fawki, you've got Ratz in here and it's one of the best free scripts…

Back in the day when we all started, there were very few SCAR tutorials around. That meant that the only way to learn was to leech as many scripts as you could, study them hard and learn off of them. Most of the devs you see today have learnt that way, even Fakawi!

However, SRL has entered a new era of SCAR scripting. There are absolutely thousands of tutorials around today all to help you learn how to SCAR script, and how to auto properly. This is actually one of the reasons we have decided to split the forums up as we have done so. No longer do people have to learn from downloaded scripts; we have a huge bank of knowledge! I could have never imagined there would be so many tutorials as there are today.

Ratz is in the free scripts section because 1) it is a great example of the power of SRL and encourages people to want SRL Junior member status and 2) It is a combat training script for low leveled characters and so complies with SRL guidelines: Don't auto on level 3 characters!

With the limited amount of visible forums we have given them, this would encourage spam and would defeat the purpose of why we are trying to do this. 1 post per day is nothing! Run a script we give you and give us constructive criticism about it.

We feel if you can be active by posting 10 posts, and patient by waiting 7 days, you deserve something for it. Remember, if a users spams his 10 posts in the first day, he still wont have access to the forums, and will probably be punished for spamming. Spammers will not be tolerated, and will be banned. Then they have to wait again, or will not have access to SRL again.

This is true. But, remember this only works for the ones who sign up after the reforms. People who were leechers before, now only have to make 10 posts. Well thats no big deal, the most of them already have like 5-7 posts… Just my opinion. :-).

You are right of course. However, if you check out registration stats, you will find we are having 100+ registrations a day!

I also think the reforms have come a little late, however they will not be wasted. ;)

Thats a lot of registrations :eek:. But, there must be a lot of other ways to make this form leecher-clean + a 'family', or am i wrong?

How would you propose we do so?

Good idea! Its like giving the newer people scripts but not many good ones at that. And giving people who meeet the requirrments better scripts! Unless someone wants to make a good script here.

You could always be strict and screen each person individually :P. Of course that would fix everything but I mean how many potentially active members would we be losing? There are flaws in everything, nothing, nobody is perfect.

The only disadvantage to this is now on Freddy1990.com we can't just send everybody to the SRL Forums, oh well, they don't really deserve scripts if they will just take them and hide in a hole.

I think this is a great idea I give it…umm, 9/10.

Some kind of 'point/rep' system. Every time someone goes against the rules, he gets a point, when you got 5 points. You will be 'downgraded' to Free For All section, until you have proven your not a leecher. Something like that?

i have almost 1 month + 25+ Posts.. i am trying to learn… but it seems harder than i think it is.. i think ill try scripting … anyways i think theres a bug i have 14 and more than 25… but i cant go in..

I propose that instead of this system, we have an application system set up. It will be like applying to be an SRL member, but it will be way more lenient. Just to prove that people have a general idea of how SCAR works. This would probably make tons of spam applications, I know, so it might be a bad idea.

This is a really good thing to stop all the noobs and leechers on this forum. This forum is real stable, and I want to keep it so. All the systems against noobs, (noob points, 10 posts) are real effective.
The guys who made this new system, they are good.

Yeah, great idea, although if you check every post, youll see tons of people with around 3 posts posting things like "thnx ill try it later". But its a good idea, if these people kept being active. Maybe make it like, need to get 10 posts every month to stay junior member?

ive only just come back from holiday to find that i cant find any free scripts ive tried making my own but i use the others as templates. ive been a member for about 1 month+ so whats up??

yes its spamming, from now on instead of 1 time posters we have 10 time posters, The mods should arm us with guns and put K.O.S tags on the 10 time posters.

lol true, but some really leechy people will back off, because they don't search hard enough they will not find out about this rule and dont have access to the scripts.. I used to be like that.. Still bit leechy but I try to do some things.. look at my first script :)

This is not THE sollution… I have been thinking… I think I know a better solution against the leechers. A system you can say how usefull someone's post was for you…

A rating system you can rate post that helps you or others with 1 point 2 or 3 points… If you think it's spamming or useless(like this post if you don't think it's a good idea) you give no points

If you want to become member you 9 points or something like that… I have my own forum and I know it takes sometime to script it with php but maybe it will help…

Could someone consider those of us who have "donated" cash. Honestly, I haven't had a script that works yet, so posting what I have would be a waste of everyone's time. Also, most post I read are completely useless… much like the scripts that I've written. That being said, what credibility does one gain by having 10 post that say absolutely nothing? I think that after this post, I will have ONE post. Nine more… and I'll be credible.

yeah its a very good incentive to get noobs(me) to learn how to script and not just expect everything handed to them.

i'm not a bad scripter, i'm starting to get the hang of forms, and i'm learning about canvases, so maybe i'll make a working script soon :redface:

We could have certain area's which give no post count, like stickies.

That will be useless, unless the forum will count the post on unique posting on side and check every post do have contribution or not

Lol, the tutorials wont go anywhere, and nothing goes away when you reach the 10 posts, you get only more.

It may take a couple of days to become srl junior member and just dont stop posting at 10 until the make you a junior member. Even try and finds some tutorials on how to make a script. Then if you make an awesome script you could become a member.

That's pretty much what I did, then yesterday I posted what I created in first scripts (even though it's terrible compared to most scripts out there)

It's really hard not to be atleast part leacher. Ecpecially with all the new SRL commands and new Scars comign out. I guess you could just read tuts but then
all you get is outdated scripting styles that get people banned

I think in ways its goo and other ways it's bad. It shows only a taste of the great scripts there are to be had and the bad we still have the stupid leechers o well

I have to admit, I kind'a started out as a leecher, and I suppose I still am one, since I like to learn from other people's scripts, and mostly modify them to my own use. However, I highly respect the original works and don't post my modified scripts anywhere on the internet and take the credit for writing them. Unfortunately, I rarely have the time to even update my tiny little website! :)

I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to wait 10 days, it is worth it for the scripts.

leachers are everywhere you have to live with them. the only easy way to get rid of them is to charge them for scriptss theyll run fast

I got a .5 black mark with a 10 day ban for using this script for getting from lvl 3 combat to lvl 99, with 95 ranged…great script. I will start using and posting more progs after I get unbanned. =)

imo, this isn't really going to help too much, as now people will just flood other sections of the forums with random topics/posts. In the end it will just increase spam and only temporarily reduce leechers.

liking the systems in place so far, iv been here before, years ago. i miss the simple scripts, like the auto crafter, you had to do all the hard work, just not the boring bits, like string all your ammys. :(

SRL Junior Member rank was made to prevent and decrease the amont of leeching.

Even most of registered users seem to spam their way to the 10 posts, though they get their post count just resetted (gj RAM), the system is slowly coming more effective, even it is maybe hard to see.

However, there will always be leechers and spammers, thats how Internet community economy is.

Also, I'm sure we wouldn't have 13 pages of spam here if even one person would've read the first post.

Plus that, if admin says so, I think you should consider that they have thinked it more than two times and thought it well.

Now, in my opinion and also in many others opinion, this should be closed.
