Are they laid-back, overprotective, are they cool, do they drool… etc! Mine are pretty overprotective, they need to know where I am at all times and always have thorough conversations *cough*interrogations*cough* with any new friends. I just had girls over at my house for the first time (I'm 13, so not really a big deal) but my parents kept on winking at me. Afterwards, the dinner conversation was about how cute they were or how great personalities they have.

Anybody else have parents like this?

Yea, my parents are insane. They wouldn't let me go see the midnight showing of Balls of Fury. :( So im going tonight instead. :)

my mother is pritty normal she can do crazy but thats more funny then annoying. i dont like my stepdad he allways get angry on me. but mostenly my mother says that he need to shutup:).

my parents are pretty cool, they never not let me do anything, they always encourage me to do something(especially my dad w/ hockey), they let me go where i wanted for college(over half the United STates away), and they always want me to have friends over to go on the boat and to paintball and do all that fun stuff out at my house(when i lived w/ them), so they are pretty cool in my eyes id guess

My mom's a bitch. My dad's cool.

Moms the overprotective one. Dads the one who let you do anything. Well at least when I was younger. Now I can do whatever I want just as long as I graduate this year.

My dad is soooo laid back. And i lived with my dad my whole life until i left home last year. He is awesome, giving me rides to partys , getting me alchol, and at times even joining in on partys.

Mum is pretty awesoem aswell. Pretty much exactly like my dad. Laid back. Funny as about girl friends. Always jokes around.

Basically my family never take anything seriously.

Here's the outlook on my parents. (Sorry for the language)

My dad is an abusive fuck, since I was 8 years old. When he gets angry at his job or family, he tends to take it out on me. He makes 70K a year, but spends 30k of it on alcohol (maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but thats what it seems like), which leaves my family then with very little money, while supporting two teenage boys. He threatens me with knives and threatens to kick me out of the house so often, I've gotten quite used to it. Though I do have many wounds from him, and some of them are quite fresh.

My mom is a whining fuck as well. All she does is whine and bitch about how her life sucks all the time, and when my dad goes on his rampages, she does nothing to stop him, only sits back and smokes. She works at a full time job, and makes about 35k a year. Spends lots of it on cigarettes.

So, I have to provide for myself. My parents don't feed me, so I usually steal food or if I can get my dads bank card or wallet, I can use that. My computer, I stole myself, in case anyone was wondering.

I could go on like this forever, but I would rather not, and I tried to restrict this to parents.

well anyways i think my parents arnt TOO proective they cerently wont buy me alchol, but thats probally just because im only 14.

No matter what your friends say about alcohol and cigarettes, it's not cool. Beer a week is good to clean your kidneys, but doing it extensively doesn't make look you cool, you make fool out of yourself and worst of all your liver gets fucked up…

Please don't use drugs, drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes, it's bad for others and your own health.

My Mom has OCD, so at times she is yelling out 50 things to do at once, my Dad is pretty cool, we go to a lot of Patriots and Red Sox games.

My parents like to know where I am and what I am doing but they never really press on past that. I had a girl and a guy come over to my house and they where fine with it. I am 14.

And since we are on the Achohol matter I have had something to drink over in Europe, where it was legal, kind of, Anyways in England we had a meal waiting for our connecting flight to Spain and they asked if we wanted anything and then I asked my Mom and she said go for it, I had maybe a half glass of beer… Nasty stuff =/.

And in Spain it is legal when you are 18 but if you can see over the bar you can get some. So I had something there, I think it was whiskey or Vodka…

I am COMPLETELY against smoking, drinking every now and then I am fine with it.

They are pretty cool and they understand me and my needs, good parents. Couldn't be better. (Unless they had 100 billion cash:redface: )

LordSaturn you sound like you have a hard life. I've never had a situation quite like yours, but I can still feel for you. I hope that one day you'll be able to leave it all behind and continue your life in peace. I know you might not believe in it, but I'll pray for you anyway.


As for my parents… they're so wierd… they scare me…

My parents are pretty laid back. They let me do my own thing and aren't very pushy about things if I don't want to do something. They're cool.

yea, my parents are kinda like yours too kik, at least with the girl part, lmao. i would like get off the phone with a girl and they'd be like o0o0o. but yea, they're alright, a little too concerned about me and school than i'd like but they make up for it.

my dad never drank a drop of alcohol since he was born lol (hes 40 something now o.O) and my mom too i would never drink lol its all nasty i guess lol =D

hummm. Mine are laid back, they have had 3 sons before me so they know whats gna happen, and the fact that il do it anyway. So they just warn me and let me get on with it.

I think my parents are quite similar compared to my friends parents and they (friends parents) are OK so I don't have anything to complain about. :)
They aren't too strict but still they set me some rules.

normal I think… My friend and I totally screwed up his mom's work computer and she was like"OK just fix it before Monday" My mom would have been like OMFG and like ground me for a week

My mom is way to over protective but my dad is pretty laid back about most things. They also just got me a new Honda 400EX quad!!!! So right now i'm hapy with them.

My parents are not too strict or not too laid back. i would get grounded if they caught me drinking or smoking, but it would only be for 2 or 3 days. As for people coming from all directions with drinking and smoking, drinking is definately appropriate at times. Smoking is fine as long as you don't abuse it extremely. People make smoking seem worse than it really is. It is only addicting if you do it a lot. Me personally only do it after i drink (best feeling ever). Not that i'm saying its ok to do.

My parents are pretty cool with everything, but not really laid back. Like they don't like me drinking and stuff. My best friend's parents are actually cool with him drinking occasionally and he didn't get in trouble about smoking pot.

Mine are alright, they can be a pain in the ass sometimes. As long as they know what im doing, drinking and what not. If i tell them before or after, they are very reasonable about it.

mine are a lot like starwind's parents as long as they know what im doing they dont care all that much though sometimes worry when i stay on the computer too "long" meaning about 2 hrs or so

Good grades in school, so i can pretty much do whatever as long as it isn't stupid.
Like I skipped today becuase 1) jammed my metatarsal in my foot.. so barely hard to walk on it, also had PT in JROTC.. so i just stayed home.. 2) had hw i didnt do over the weekend ( 3 essays.. whos gonna do them??) tried to finish those.. but I left some important work at school -.-

I get what I want.. because I rarely ask for anything and almost NEVER complain :D ( Go me!)

Remember guys your parents are only over protective because they love you. They wouldn't want anything to happen to their children. You should cherish having such awesome parents. Imagine life with no one caring for you at all.

I personally think being "grounded" is so flippin' stupid. I mean wtf, if my parents ever said "Your grounded!" then I'd be actually be happy. Most rooms have like, a computer, and video game counsel(s)?

I've actually never been 'grounded'. Went I was like 7 or 8 and my brother and I still got into fights they'd sent us to our rooms for 30 minutes or an hour or something, but that's pretty much it.

And, yeah, it's sort of weird with my parents. They're always afraid of me doing pot or drinking and stuff (I've never done it, never heard about parties where friends have drank or smoked and stuff), but when it comes to my social life they're like 'woohoo, good job! You should have more friends over tonight!'
