Could you at least give Fakawi a message explaining to him why you are leaving? I know how much he respects you, and I respect you just as much. I would like you to post your reasonings please. Although not all may agree, what you thionk we should work on would be greatly appreciated information.

I know mine, nor other posts will change your mind for now. You are a grown man, and have matured and experienced more than the majority here. Have fun in other communities, but if you choose to come back, we will be here with open arms.

He was a developer when SRL first started, after a long time of being non active, he got de-dev'ed, I don't think he had a problem with that.

Here is the post where he talks about SRL crashing:
From: JustKidding
Theres alot of things I love about srl forums. There is also alot of things I hate and theres alot of things getting worse. Mainly arrogance. It no longer feels like a community. It feels like a place where people downplay others to raise themselves. They also thrash the creativity of others and supress advancements because they feel others are not responisble enough to not abuse a cheat they are secretly using behind the scenes. Srl forums are no longer what they used to be and I am leaving before it crashes. Claw or anyone else if you want me to continue to test your scripts for flaws just pm me them here. Im not gonna go back.

Theres too much of this community withing a community at srl here lately and this hidden bullshit they keep poking out from behind the scenes hinting at all sorts of stuff. I dont script and never will but I do what I can to help a community. And flame me all you want if you like I could care less of anyones personal opinion. Ive got plenty and I am sure you do. Status and arrogance mean nothing to me.
Ok enough of this.

I took the liberty of digging up the first Forum of mine, call it SRL 0.01 , just for old times sake. These where the remains of the once so proud Kaitnieks community I managed to pull out of the shattered cheating community. You dont want to know how much energy it took me to contact these guys. See number 17? With them we started all anew and created a backbone of today's cheating community.

I don't know exactly why but I too feel this community is slowly deteriorating.

Its too often you hear about secret parts of the community that no one ever knew existed, or some secret dev only project.

The discussion in the "Members Section" is lacking lately too…

All the devs… It is kinda sad how something can get toppled. I know this won't strike home as much with me as it does with you guys but you were their and when Kaitneiks went down I can imagine how you guys might have felt. The way people talk about it I feel this site is only a remnant(definitely not to say it's bad) of what Kaitneiks was. It puts things into perspective of how you can actually get attached to things on the internet. If this site went down I wouldn't be as sad as losing a Runescape cheat as losing so many friends.

Edit: Even though that technically isn't Kaitneiks' site I think you get my point.

However, I must agree with bobarkinator and others, i'm part of this community since last year october, so it's rather long (almost a year), and i also love this community, it's a great feeling, something like coming home or so, maybe it does sounds crazy but that's how i feel.
And i must agree i also see how the community is going bad, all those secrets etc it makes some people feel bad about the "group" if you get what i mean :(

But guys….Every forum on the net has its hierarchy. There are always hidden forums and secret alliances. I mean, you all know there is an "inside SRL…" forum for devs only, but nobody takes offence to that. Then there is ofcourse the Moderators forum, where we discuss users & ranks etc..Then we have the admin forum also. The list goes on and on and on. This is valid for EVERY large forum on the net. If a forum lacks these structures, they quickly perish.

So whats the problem? Yes we have a "secret" (woohoo) SSRL member board, and Ben has kindly donated his minimizable RS-client, but this is still under heavily development and is faaar from either finished nor solid, so there isn't any point in distributing this to the mass for it is not a workable solution yet.

However, I understand Justkidding's point of view. He has been here from day one, and I kinda forgot about him, but then again he has been away for several months, like many of you do. No need for examples I hope. I should have been more keen on keeping him aboard, but on the other hand, he is mature and things can always be discussed with me in a normal fashion, right? Besides, allthough I am one of the Gods around here, I have to share my position with other admins, so I try not to act on my own responisibility (usually) , but ask and poll first on the appropriate forums. If things have been unclear I apologize for that, but 30.000 registrees is quite a burden on my shoulders if you know what mean. Sometimes things slip through. I too have a job and a family to run you know, and we (admins, devs and moderators) are all doing this for nothing, and ask nothing in return.

Once again….. all boards have hidden layers! No big deal. Work your way up I propose. Show us you are worthy of SSRL, moderator- or even administratorship. You all have potential access to everything on this site

Nicely Put, I agree with that. We shouldn't get mad over secrets forums like you mentioned. All sites have them…Even Runescape has them, I have seen the moderator forum. Even bussinesses have them, like upstairs is where the executives work and you cannot go up there is sorta the samething in this case.

I think it becomes more secretive as people have to hear it from others, like I have. For me, when things are just laid out, there's no problem, even if I don't have access to it. TBH I don't really mind being kept in the dark because it's not like any of the admins have ever led us astray. We really are a family here, and in a family, no parent is going to discuss tax returns with their infant, or even teenager for that matter, as they usually know what their doing. It's just that sometimes I refrained from posting or asking questions because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be talking about it because I had heard it from others.

I also know a lot less than a lot of Members here :p so I think this post helped me a lot more than some people.

I understand what you mean, but sometimes we can't tell people what they don't have access to, to prevent people from trying to be promoted just to get it. You see a lot of posts saying 'what script can i write to get members?', and for the higher ranks we don't want that attitude.

Starblaster100

Yes anyone can apply for dev, you send in a dev application to Fakawi if you think you are good enough. There is no set application to use, you just have to say why you think you should be dev, some example of your work etc.

All existing devs will then vote if they think you are good enough.

If we think someone is a great scripter, however hasn't applied for dev yet, we will poll them ourselves. If S/he wins the poll, then that member will be asked if s/he wants to join us.

The latter of the 2 is usually how we do it now a days. Not many people who request to be devs become devs.

Thanks for laying it out like that Fakawi. It can get a little secretive when a dev mentions something huge, like minimizable RS, for the first time you've heard it in a thread, and then people talk about rumors, etc.

Have fun without SRL Forums, justkidding. Never really knew you, but be sure to come back sometime and the devs can be nostalgic and stuff.

I'm not trying to get you to post anything here, but that's not the attitude I think it should have. SRL members is about not leeching, in addition to other things, meaning that me, personally, would fix something up if I see it and it's not working, or at least give it a try. We are supposed to be above leechers. Like I said not trying to get you to post something here, just my opinion.
