my story:
i left the computer for about 30min and when i come back, i see windows where it says "you got spam in your computer, download this file" and "your personal files are being watched.' then i got freaked out when my desktop wallpaper changed to this freaky red caution sign.
so i scanned my computer and it didn't help. i was gettin scared that i might also have a keylogger so i immediately rebooted my windows into a fresh one.
i used norton anti-virus 2007 and i was thinking if you guys might have suggestions to any other good anti-virus softwares

Use avast! its a great program.
Also use spybot S & D, and ad-aware for spyware protection.
BTW Norton is the worst program to use.

I like AVG and Kaspersky. None of my other scanners pick up something that they don't.

AVG Anti virus Free Edition
That or spyware doctor trial ver. and Norton Internet security 2007 and the antivirus too(i got 10yrs left in my norton Mwahahaha)

My most favorite to least favorite:
AVG Free-love it
Nod 32-awesome, but pricy
Symantec (the business version of norton)-very nice, but no idea what the cost is
Kapersky-never used it, but I hear it's good
Avast-I hate the little notifications; they can really mess up fullscreen games
I had ZoneAlarm, but it caused too much trouble for me, so I got Comodo Firewall Pro (free); ZA would freeze my computer with it's little popups, I'm not really sure why, though.

i use etrust pestcontrol now bitdefender i hate it
spybot s & d //this one ownz
i think like 1% or less know about etrust thingy it can find much spyware in like 1 min scan he cant scan slower than 2 mins and its really good i finds much things trojans to you should use it to(ps. torrent him )

I got the "unlimited trial" version of NOD32, look at your favorite torrent site for it ;)
And I often sweep my computers from spyware with a nice program called
Hitman Pro, it automatically runs like 10 different antispyware programs, and it'll automatically update and configure them.

If you're looking for the to go the free route, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy are great. If you have Microsoft, you can get Window's Defender for realtime protection, although I'm not sure how effective it is. It never hurts to have too many anti-spyware programs. AVG offers a free edition of antivirus protection and they also have a free rootkit killer, which helps find trojan programs etc. PCWorld.com has a bunch of free programs that can help your computer out.
