The Claw

Hey guys. I just sort of realised it today, but it seems that theres more and more garbage posts going around. Big credits to ram for cleaning them up, but I think that more could be done. And some sections here are just there for the sake of it, I reckon about 60% could be merged into one single forum, and quite a few deleted. Dont get me wrong, the staff here are doing a great job and the forums are great. But they could be so much better too. So this is what I propose:
Again, this is in no way having a go at how things are run here, or demanding that anything be changed. Think of it constructive criticism, a way of making the forums more sleek and streamlined, if you will.
You may be thinking, "who the hell is this guy telling us how to run our forum?!". But I hope you dont lol. In my time on the internet (~3 1/2 years?) I have created 2 forums, both pretty successful, been admin on another 2 and global mod on 1. Not just small forums either, one of them has over 300,000 members now, another over 50,000. Not to "blow my own whistle" though, just saying that I have had experience with forums :)
So thoughts on this? This were just a few ideas that I was thinking of, feel free to say how they could be better if they were implemented, if they're shit, or some of your own…
The Claw (yer, pretty shit name I know, too late to change it now haha)
- All superfluous/reduntant/pointless forums merged or deleted.
- Larger mod team. As this forum grows bigger, we need more mods to handle the load.
- New forum, which is locked, called Graveyard. All locked posts to be sent there, to remove cluttering up of the main boards.
- Rules made more obvious. I think we need to enforce the punishments for stupid/double posts etc, because its getting out of hand.
- Yea, complete overhaul of the way the forums are categorised. Can be done without losing posts so no worries there.
