SRL Archive - Who Are You ? Who ? Who ?

Hi, i have played runescape for many years and have pretty much become bored with it. To me, the thought of cheating at a game is actually more fun than playing the game.

I hope to learn as much as I can here and contribute whatever i can. I am currently working on my first script (other than an autotalker and powerchopper) and hope to release it for review within the week.

Anyway, i dont know how many new users you get here interested in scripting (outside the scope of making lots of pixel money) but i hope to prove my intentions and become a member of the community.

Hello! And welcome to the srl forums :)

Im going to answer your paragraphs backwards :P.

First off, we get hundreds of new people every day and I CANT STAND THEM, they always ask stupid questions, expecting it to be our job to help them. This is fine, i dont mind helping, but only when they search first, or actaully looks ofr an answer.

You seem to be a person who isnt that stupid, THANK GOODNESS we dont get many of you! WELCOME!

Next paragraph… good, good! Please, we really encorage you to learn to script. That is rteally what these forums are focused on. We have an AMAZING collection of tutorials that can teach you juswt about anyhting. Not to mention (as long as you have searched first) we would love to helpo you ouyt with any coding questions you have.

Welcome! Sounds like you already have a good attitude.

Could you help me with one thing? You look like you just came and you already know basics of scripting. Could you tell me what tuts helped you the most?

I'm asking this because most people who say tuts are good are already good at scripting, and therfore don't even need the tuts.

Unmatched Beginner's Guide to Scripting Scar by Whocares357 is very good, I am currently using that as I have no knowledge whatsoever of scripting! So I hope this helps and good luck :D

To tell you the truth i expected alot of people to make posts like rotflmfwao's.

In response to birfday_cake, i actually read every tutorial in the beginners section, made a very very crappy powerchopper and just added everything i possibly could to it. the best thing that i have found so far is opening the skill includes and just reading what each procedure and function actually does. once you know what you have to work with, it suddenly becomes pretty easy.

i know a month of 1/2 ago i couldnt script now i still cant(:p )
i already making (i think its)a good script
you really got the right attitude
