SRL Freezing and Include Finding Problems...

Well, today was the first day I decided to try and script with SRL, it seems as though its working well, until I try to compile it.

It can't find all the includes in the core file that are automatically included when you include SRL.scar. At the top I put {.include SRL/SRL.scar}, but when it says it can't find the includes, it says SRL/SRL/core/*name*.scar.

Why is there an SRL folder inside an SRL folder? Oh well, I put the existing SRL folder inside another one. It compiles fine. I try to run it, it compiles, then it doesn't move the mouse, doesn't do anything, I try to open scar, its responding… but its just…. frozen. So I end the SCAR process, and try again, to no avail.

Any suggestions? :(

If your whole system is just freezing then your computer is not good enough. Mabye thats the problem?
To check if your system is good enough, run scar then exit, then go to ur task manager and look at performace. Click the tab CPU usage history, if you see that the line is at the top (100%) its telling you that your comp could not handle what you were trying to execute. I recommend closing all other programs (msn, limewire etc.) if you are having this problem.

Huh, don't move any folders around. Just extract the whole SRL include in the includes folder.
To use it do

//{.include SRL/SRL.Scar} gives you access to all procedures in Core folder.
program New;
{.include SRL/SRL.Scar}

begin
SetUpSRL;
end.

I dont think hes moving anything around, i think it's just that he did not understand that you had to get the SRL folder from inside the SRL22 folder.

Don't get anything from anything. Extract leave it.

The only thing you need to move around is the Box.dll pic into your plugins folder.

To clarify: just extract EVERYTHING from the SRL[version].zip file (including folders) to
SCAR 2.03\includes. There should be an SRL folder inside the includes folder, and another SRL folder inside that.

The SRL inside the SRL folder originated out of the need of packaging everything together. Ideally, In the Includes folder we would have a SRL.scar file with the first call 'SetupSRL' and load of all subincludes situated in the SRL Folder. But at the time I developed the SRL system, Squig, RSCI, SI, RSCI and AI where still popular, so we thought it wise to put it in one Folder. That explains for the

{.include SRL/SRL.scar}
{.include SRL/SRL/skill/Mining.scar}
{.include SRL/SRL/misc/DraynorColorFinder.scar}

I personally dont have any other include file inside my include folder anymore, since we included them all. It is all a matter of packaging really.

About the freezing:

What client are you using? You use 32-bits true color? Which script where you running?

I think he is using his own script. One that he just made.

anyways if you installed scar on the default setting then this is how the srl file sould be
C:\Program Files\SCAR 2.03\includes\SRL Inside there you should see 5 folders a scar script and some manuals

I realized what was wrong, I put SRL.scar inside an SRL folder, and put everything else in another SRL folder. It was freezing because it couldn't get to charsnpc and trade, because those and SRL.scar have to be in the first SRL folder, then everything else in SRL/SRL
