Spamming is getting out of hands. I see like 1000 posts per day that are usually bullshit/completely offtopic/spam. And the worst thing is; many of these spammers are members.
Shouldn't being member mean that you should show some good behaviour to new comers, so they know how behave in our forums.

And another thing:
Speaking Finnish. Some people are speaking finnish pretty often.
I'm from Finland also, but I find it really disturbing and insulting towards non-finnish members. It's english forum, so let's keep it at english.

I won't say any names but I'm sure people that are guilty will recognize themselves.

Remember, this isn't chat. It's forum.

I agree with the finnish thing it does get quite annoying. And the amount of spam this forum is seeing is escalating too. Perhaps another moderator or two could help sort things out.

That Finnish crap is really annoying, but if they continue, meh, I just talk Dutch then.

I for one try not to "spam" anywhere else than the bbq pit, and I admit that most of my posts are "spam" at that section, but the whole section is kinda like a spam section.. Oh and about the finnish thing, I try to avoid doing that and mostly when for example n3ss3s does that he also includes a translation, if he doesn't then it's just most likely pointless .. Meaning that it wouldn't do you any good even if you knew what it was about.

Ok it sucks if someone doesn't like you for no reason, but it's not like you guys have open animosity. There are people who annoy me for absolutely no reason, but it doesn't like make it so I can't function around them. Santa I think you just shouldn't worry about it, or talk to Secet privately, with one of the options he gave you, and move it away from this thread. Because as much as it's a serious issue, considering it has nothing to do with the topic, it's still bullshit :p

I find a topic like this, also part of the bullshit you are referring to.. Honestly if it were as big of a problem, then an admin would have talked about the matter.. You don't realize that many people that play rs are under 14 and not all are geniuses. Why does rs have all these anti scam things, and security cave and such? because they know many of the players are kids.

Now some of those kids come to the forum, looking for a way to get 99 in a day by autoing.. They have no idea how to script, and some don't even know how forums work..

There are also "members" that decide to post "bullshit" but I honestly think that if it were that big of a problem, an admin would do something about it.. In a mature manner, not with a topic saying "posting bullshit". I know you mean well by this thread, but to me it looks so offensive towards the admins.. why? well because for one you are saying you see 100s of spam every day. That makes the forum look bad. YOU are adressing the matter, instead of an admin, which also makes the forum look bad.

If this spam really bothers you, then just press the god damn report button. Don't need to make a topic about it and criticize a whole forum that has a huge amount of the most intelligent people I have ever met.

Spam has gotten carried away..including off topic remarks,off topic POSTS, thread hijacking, and useless posts…Everyone is guilty of it at one time or another…even me…but I try and keep this in mind when I post…if I take the time to write something, and I expect other people to read it, I should at least make it worth while…If you disagree with what someone has posted…Unless it's a poll…State your reasons…same as agreeing with someone…If it made you laugh…give some reasons,other than just spamming "LOL"…if you have something to add off topic…try and add something worth while to the thread….if someone upsets you enough you feel you have a need to Flame them…at least be the bigger person, and post a link answering their question, etc…As far as posting in other languages…I thought this was discussed before ?…… http://www.srl-forums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=115138&postcount=45

In forums you need to follow some basic rules, but in chat you can talk like "lol", "haha" and so on.

I think the reason most people have been spamming is that this is a close community, and I know that I've made friends and I'm sure others have, therefore people just want to chat sometimes.

Another reason I believe is that people are bored waiting for a new SRL to come out so they have nothing better to do.

A final point by me is that, no offense to the admins, but maybe they need to crack down a little more on Spam, I think even I deserve an infraction. But I believe more people deserve infractions and maybe some other forms of punishments.

Very well said. I'm generally bored alot, because I don't really play any games etc. anymore so mainly I just chat on msn and read these forums.. A big difference between this forum and many others is that here is no black market or something where people sell/buy accounts etc., meaning there's really no point for people to spam up their post counts to be trusted or something, so I don't really see any profitable reason for doing that..
