its all politics mate…past mistakes made by some cause others to make grudges, and cause their in positions of power here or at other places they say "fuck it i dont like you"…its sort of a popularity contest, sort of power gone to the head..it can destroy a board and a community. even on what appears to be a peaceful happy board on the outside, theres always an admin disliking another admin, mod etc, for whatever reason, valid or not. ive seen it at every board ive been to (warez, photoshop, etc).

and yer, none of that was directed at star or anyone in particular its just saying that at every board, where theres admins and mods, there will be power struggles either within the staff, or between staff at other related boards. its pretty much unavoidable so the best thing everyone can do is not take it out on the public boards, and resort to PMs etc if neccessary. again, not directed at anyone in particular here.

there is something to avoid it, get a mature and intellegent staff, and i think this discription fits with starblaster:)

Boreas (Although he has 2 posts or something) is Global Moderator, and N3ss3s is Global Moderator. N3ss3s, next time you are on msn, I will tell you why ronny is an Admin, and you arnt. Its KYAB only stuff, even though everyone here can go find out about it anyway, it isnt supposed to be spread here. Just like everything here shouldnt be spread there. [offtopic]

Wow, well I'm really gonna make this a mega post then explaining everything i possibly can.

My week has been a good one :) I got a nice big paycheck, I got the grades at A Level I needed to get into the university of my choice and I became a SRL admin.

Firstly I want to say thanks to everyone in this thread who congratulated me; I really appreciate it and I hope i can contribute to SRL to make this forum an even better place than it already is.

Now, what you must understand:
The moment you are asked to become a staff member on a forum, your whole perspective of the forum changes. You have to act mature as to uphold the reputation of the staff of the specific forum, and you have to make mature decisions constantly. Never can you piss around on a forum, or post absolutely stupid posts because people will always judge you for doing so. "OMG why is he an admin, he's swearing and bashing another forum member, staff shouldn't do that…" Well if i was a regular member, it would be OK, wouldn't it? Until a forum mod steps in to break up the fight. Thats the only downfall of being a staff member i can think of.

Fortunately for me (as a lot of you will see it), but also unfortunately for me (as i see it) I am a staff member on a lot of forums that i really love going on. That means I can't muck around at all on these forums, and it really does take an effect on you. However, don't get me wrong, I love being staff on forums. Being able to contribute and make the forums you love a better place is such an amazing feeling, and I love doing it. Thats why i end up being staff on a lot of forums: I find a forum i really love, I contribute to it because i love it a lot, and sometimes i am rewarded for my efforts when an admin takes notice of me. However, not being able to always speak your mind frustrates me, as many of you have probably seen in a few of the threads.

Now about Solarwind. We started fighting because he wanted to crack my ess miner, just to show off, or earn some reputation or whatever he wanted to do. I asked him nicely not to, but he still threatened me and fought with me and was generally being an immature kid about it. On one thread we had a huge blow out and he's hated (yes, hated) me ever since. I've moved on; apparently he hasn't.

Yes i have lost my temper in the past with this kid, but what do you expect? He was posting inappropriate language in many a thread, and I warned him about one of them. Here are the PMs i received from him.

I've moved on long ago, but every time there is something involving me in a thread, he'll just go and flame me as usual. I've gotten pretty used to it now, and it doesn't really bother me anymore.



Next thing on the menu… Fakawi is 43! Not 70. Please don't get that wrong, it's another small thing which annoys me. I really think Fakawi deserves so much respect. He (and all of the other staff members here) have produced such an amazing community and i couldn never thank him enough for that.
