Alright heres the deal..i gotta pure mage. 36 hitpoints, 61 mage, and everything else is a stat level of 1. I plan on getting the mage to level 69 so the level 59 fire spell will not fail. What does everyone suggest I do next? Im willing to spend ALOT of time on the account….i just want it to basically be the best f2f pker it can be. I don't plan on upgrading it to members….any suggestions?

It will be hard to beat most f2p rangers since you will be wearing robes and arrows will go straight through that. I would say get 69 mage and get some range since your hp is low and you could get koed my str pures.

im thinking about 60 hp 69 mage…and just hunting addy warriors around level 8 wildy or something. Bind, cast all spells that makes them useless, then start killing em with fire. What you think man?

Can't really say what you want your hp to be since you dont control it, I never really went pking with fire blast , I mostly Ice blitz and Ice barrage since im strictly p2p. It might work if you have a group of people fire blasting.

i got advice to never go into wildy with a pure mage alone then you got 10% to kill some1(noobs are easy) and <50% to servive because low hp and weak against rangers

Yes what he said, Your easy pickings for a ranger, I suggest at least getting defense up a bit if nothing else, itll help you run far far away, Why not just fire strike or high alch till lvl70 mage, then train defense, or train defense and mage with fire strike.

Range is the answer.. (My pure has 99 range :))

get your range around the same level as your mage. Wear d hide legs and mage hat mage top and maple short. Honestly when I pk in f2p I have 85 mage and 85 range but I was my range with my high def. Rune chain d hide legs rune full, green vambs.

Pure mages have no place in the wilderness if not in low levels or in large groups. It's all range/2h or huge strengh now. Personally, I'd keep the range and only have it to bind with, and then go range/2h or get a large strengh via pest control, and if you can't p2p then you'll have to live with lower damage stats and higher hp.

So yeh, keep the magic but diversify to have a strengh or range, that way, if someone comes along with armor, all you have to do is wail on them with fire blast, and then when they switch/take armor off, switch to melee/range and wail on them that way.

However…i cant hit that high with archery in f2p either can i?

When I made my first pure mage, I got it to lvl 60 mage, then got 60 range, this worked quite well while pking. So as "Buckleyindahouse" has suggested getting your range up, not only to increase your HP but make yourself more powerful when in the wild.

I agree. Get about 60 range whenever you are ready to start training it. Do not forget to train some defense in though too, it would really help to have it while PK'ing, due to defense helping you block hits.

IMO, I never really thought pure mages in F2P worked well for pking. Unless you enjoy killing people at lower levels, since to me that's the only time when pure mages are most effective. And if you are going to pk at higher levels, you would have to travel with a group. But either way people always goes after the mage first.

Just one note before you continue your pure. At my lvl in F2p, (cb 55+) pure mages… get… OWNED. The pk domination goes. Pure mages(cb 3- 41) Rangers (42 - 52) Pure Str (53 +)

So think about how permenant you want your pking to be.

Maybe get 20 or so def for mystic.

40 def and 40 range aswell for d hide chaps, mabye train range to equal range

get high str lvl as it wont raise your combat (exept trough hp lvls)
