SRL Archive - MSI Archives

Well MSI did start just being a group of people who were going to work on making multi skill scripts, and since then its turned into an include, not necessarily on purpose it just ended up being that way. So I was wondering do people want MSI to be an include or would you rather it just be a group to work, or big scripts or functions together? MSI can always work on single functions then maybe they will get added into SRL but I think now it would be best if we ditched the include thing, and just stuck to making scripts and functions. I'm going to poll this, so I'd like to know what everyone thinks. If you like the idea of MSI being an include or do you think MSI should just make multi-skill scripts and elaborate functions for SRL.

Please if you have any suggestions or comments or anything constructive to say please post, I'd like to know your thoughts.

IMO - The best thing to do right now would be to turn MSI back into just a group that works on making multi-skill-scripts but thats just my opinion.

well what I thought MSI was going to be was an include with Power equiptment in it… like it would be and include with like : MSI\Skills\PowerMiner.scar


this way we could include the powerminer so it power mines then we can make it go to bank or something with custom walking procedures within the script and have like : MSI\SKills\Smelt.scar … so then it uses a custom walking porcedure in main script and goes to smelter the smelts… and walks back…

this way all people would have to do to make a script ws really work on the walking…. all the skills and misc stuff…and all MSI would do is keep track on making regular scripts that could compile together to make one script…


we should really discuss on what MSI is going to be.

Thats basically why a made this thread I just want to know what people want MSI to be, personally I don't care, I think it would be fun to make it a group project thing but like you said Dark, if we made each skill an include then "making" the actual multi-skill scripts would be a cake - walk. So I kinda think we should do both in a sense I want to see what people say though.

I see that a few more people have voted, any response to any of these votes? I'd really like to know what people are thinking about MSI.

I voted on changing it to group project. I just don't think MSI will get very far, definitely how it is now. If you want MSI to actually succeed, I think it needs to be public in somesort. But If you do that, some code in MSI may be from authors who don't want it public. Maybe both, different sections in the SVN where people can work on the MSI include and work on MSI - related scripts, and where people can work on non-MSI related scripts.

I guess but thats just saying to split people up, I'm sure that would probably work, don't get me wrong, but I want to try to reach a common interest that everyone would like to participate in. I see where you are coming from though, maybe we can split it up, but I'd like more votes before we proceed any further.
