I know that I should delete it like every time I log in if I auto, but I don't know why.
Can someone please tell me what is that file for?

UID.dat is now obsolete and is not used by jagex anymore. UID.dat is now Random.dat.
It is a file that jagex puts on your computer to identify you and the accounts you have been using. Kind of like a tracker of sorts. Deletes whenever possible to help you not get banned.
