Incorporating Minimum combat level in SRL ?

This is probably got to be one of my biggest pet peeves, as I have spent a lot of time training my army's combat ,out of respect for the 'Golden Rules" set forth, and for the common sense that these rules were made for….

It really chaps my ass to hear of people still using lvl 3s …..

I know a few people add it in their scripts (SKY)

But I would just like to suggest it being incorporated and buried in SRL….

Pros and Cons….Please Discuss…

Limit as much attention to SCAR/SRL , and promotes responsible cheating…..
More code to sift through,potential problems….

That wouldn't be good, because how would we train lvl 3's higher if the script kept logging out. Unless you want a global variable for autofighting, but then ppl can just set it true in the scripts. Other then that, it's a good idea. But hey, let those noobs get banned, they will redirect the attention off of you. :D

:redface:…Let's just pretend we never has this conversation :redface:

Ok, I guess Autofighing would be the exception to the rule, and I guess i could have just edited my post to make myself not look so "Blonde":rolleyes:

and my point was..the level 3 using the same routes,etc as our trained characters in the same script would attract attention…

no let this be lived!

if you make it an option in SRL so the script checks the level or not.

this way it works with autofighters.

this makes it so the option is there…
this will make it so when someone wants to make a combat limit in there script they do not have to write it up just change an option…

and if the option is true then when a player logs in directly after login it checks combat level.

Hmm, how about..maybe a separate login procedure…..nlogin…checks combat level, logs out if less than 20 ? Then you could use regular login with nonfighting scripts.

I think it should be the scripters choice, but should be recommended and widespread throughout the forum.

ya that why i was saying make it and ption and if option = true then …. at the end of the login procedure it checks combat…

easy right you giuys :p

this makes it a choice.

or i know!

make a new stat under the username id that reports the lowest user combat lvl autoed with :p

this way we can spot the low lvl using users :p

agreed. Most people that are able to remove the combat block. Generally arent level 3 autoers :P

Since it needs to be built into SRL for this to work, and it needs to not work on auto fighters, the only way I can think of is this:

Having it built into to GetAllLevels where it compares combat level to highest non combat skill. If combat level is <20 and theres a skill >20, then it gives a fake error or terminates or logout false or something.

Though it'd be nice, I think this would cause too many problems if built into SRL.

Though, Boreas's idea has set me thinking in the other direction.

Another thought: What if you only checked combat level in procedures that had to do with item collection (depositing, RRW, symbols…)? Since most autofighters aimed at lower-leveled characters don't use many of these procedures, it shouldn't affect too many scripts negatively. The only problem would be if someone used their own procedures to deposit items.

I think Wizzup's Ess Miner's usage rates would drop dramatically, too :)

yes like if someones combat is <20 and there is a skill > 40 you know for sure they are autoers with lvl 3's…

but what if they decide to fix it by attempting to lvl up they have to do it manually and cant do an autofighter which sucks…

My sig has spread so far that pretty much every thread on this forum has at least one post with it. It's in the SRL rules and a couple other places. They had plenty of chances.

well, let me elaborate on this a bit more….it would just be an addition to the existing login procedure, and if less that 20 combat, logs out and gives them a link to a tutorial, etc….

that way, people that didn't want to use it,(or for fighting scripts) have a choice, but something as simple as one additional letter to the front of the procedure…..many people will argue, that they will circumvent it anyways…but, if it is inside of SRL, then it would be a bit harder for them, then just searching through the script….

just my $.02

Ill back you up RAM

Youd do this by not having it in auto fighters!
No one really auto fights for a profit anyways, jagex could care less if they saw a level 3 killing chickens. But a level 3 in the mining guild is a whole other story.

I don't see it as confusing :S

procedure CheckPlayer;
begin
GameTab({whatever tab I forgot lol});
if(GetCombatLevel < 20)then
begin
case random(6) of
0: writeln('We luv lvl 20s, get yours today! (Train)');
1: writeln('lvl 20 is teh way to go, go, go!');
2: writeln('please make sure you are lvl 20 before autoing, sir/maam');
3: writeln('Can you lvl a bit to 20+ before you auto maybe? <3 u!');
4: writeln('dirka dirka mahomijinad, lvl 20 pl0x por f@v0r.');
5: writeln('Did I ever tell u my 30,000 lvl 19 and under noobs got banned?');
end;
if(LoggedIn)then Logout;
TerminateScript;
end;

So what we are looking at is sticking this somewhere hidden among SRL, then if it's a fighting script, they don't check level; if it isn't, they stick this in above somewhere after LoggedIn. If one noob is below 20, I'm taking a risk they all are. This would just require some people hiding the CheckPlayer procedure somewhere

Boreas

2007-08-19 23:09:14

Yea but hiding a proc like that would be too easy to circumvent. The only way I see it is building it into something that is needed. Loginplayer could contain GetAllLevels, which could contain the check. Which leads us back to the autofighter problem, so it should check if there is a non combat skill above 20, and combat level below 20.

still suck for the people who do have a lvl combat 19 with a lvl 23 skill …

owell its their problem … but it should be specified in SRL rules that anyone under lvl 20 combat … with any skill above lvl 20 will not be able to operate scripts….

I don't think so. Sure, anything less than 30 isn't good, however it's hard to level accounts past 13(my average) with the welcoming island tools unless you gradually level all skills evenly. I just think less than 6 with 30+ skill is bad. It takes a night for an army of 5 to get 13+ combat, but then another night for 2-3 more.

Well you guys are the scripters…. put it in your scripts if you want it. Dont wait for srl to implement it. Be a vigilante :p

The point is that in script its much easier to get around…

Really? I would have thought one change was better then (insert amount of scripts you use here) changes in your script collection.

If they can do that, they probably don't auto with level 3s :P

Rofl read the 8th post in this thread. Posted by me. Saying exactly the same thing. Prompted by cheesehunk. Really. If you can script and know how to remove it and find it. Then you probably arent one of those people that are autoing with 3's
