Random.Dat .. how far can they go :p

well currently they can put this in 8 dif locations!!!
just to let you know on all the current file loc:
(if you block them all they will recommend you to use unsigned :p.)

now they use two diffrent types of folders…

.Files_Store_32
.Jagex_Cache_32

and Random.dat is put into these folders… these folders can be positioned 4 dif locs in your comp…

first they will try :

C:\WINDOWS\

then they try:

C:\

3rd they try:

C:\Documents and Settings\(current user)\

and lastly they try to hide there files :

C:\Program Files\(browser used for RS)\
(or wherever your browser is loc)

like i said if you block all of those they have no place left to go and recommend you to use unsigned client..

thus proving unsigned client is safe ( if anyone needed proof :p )

Jagex can scan your current processes and even do a "sweep" of your HDD if they want/need to. This just makes it harder. If I remember right, Mopar has told me said that the .Dat is engaged during client runtime, and without its presence the game will not initialize.

If Jagex really wanted to, they could eliminate us, tbh.

The thing is, we have a sorta competition with them, they make and update and we struggle to adapt. They are just toying with us really.

no did huh :p

but then again they know we got most of their economy in our hands :p

and bebe the client can be initailized without "Random.UID" if you use unsigned XD :p.

Well jagex must have knowen Unsigned Applets Weaknesses when they released it.

Meh jagex could kill us off easy but then their income would be sliced in half at least.Macro to make mills,sell mill to buy a pin>macro macro macro mfing macro,buy another pin…nearly half of the rs players have at least macroed once.
if they kill off scar which probably isnt that hard,a whole lot of people will stop playing.doing the same thing over and over and over again isnt as entertaining as youd think…

And yeah im pretty sure they have spies and such inside our forums.and most of said spies arent even leecher.if their overly polite and dont make too many mistakes and dont act normal they may be a spy.

Unsigned applets are used by a whole lot of the smarter people.the dum people just get banned.Even jagex doesnt like pea brained arrogant idiots filling up their game.

Un-signed Applets are better to use, but they lag your computer a little more.

You have a good point(s) too, Kaustav 002 ;)

Off Topic: Is there anyway we could block Jagex from " downloading" the files onto our computers, with a program so we can still use a signed applet?

Dark_Sniper

2007-08-09 13:29:32

yes but as I said….

if you clock them from putting the files on to your computer… the client will not start …

like bebe said.

the client will not initialize without random.dat …

the only client that will initialize without your "UID" file is the unsigned client :p

and all this is is just proof that unsigned client is safe.

Except unsigned doesn't have the world switch button so there goes some scripting ideas. What we need is a way to edit random.dat then save it to all the possible locations. Then when runescape starts we would have taken out all the bad stuff but kept the good stuff.

Dark_Sniper

2007-08-09 14:02:21

well even if you edit random.dat… you have to edit it every time(the client intializes)….

its best if you just … use unsigned.

i would start a new thread about this but i wasnt really sure where to post it so… here goes. you know how autorune or whatever that one bot program was called that made your uid -1 yeah doesnt that mean if they chain banned that id all of the users of thatprogram would be banned? and also if this is true doesnt that mean that you can change your uid to someone elses uid resulting in them maybe getting a chainban?

Procedure EraseUIDs;
Begin
ReWriteFile('C:\\Windows\.jagex_cache_32\uid.dat',false);
ReWriteFile('C:\\Windows\.jagex_cache_32\random.dat',false);
End;
A solution? just over writes it.

This could easily be seen by Jagex.

I dont thing the problem would be that it would be "Seen" by Jagex…

The thing is that you can't overwrite or delete the file as long as rs is open.

If you are on unsigned applet JageX cannot read or write on your computer.

Smart person FTW!

Soo… How is this locking accomplished? Read only?

Also, to force off attributes such as read only and system file go into DOS and type

attrib/? and look at the help info.

Ok, I updated my solution. It really shouldn't matter to jagex, all it does is erase the contents of the file, not the file itself.
Procedure EraseUIDs(i:String);
Begin
ReWriteFile('C:\\Windows\.jagex_cache_32\' +i +'.dat',false);
End;

Procedure ChangePlayer;
Var
i:Boolean;
Begin
LoginCheck;
i:=True;
Begin
Repeat
FindFastRandoms;
If(FindFight)Then
RunAway('ran');
If((KillUIDs)and(i))Then
EraseUIDs('uid');
i:=False;
Until(Not(LoggedIn));
If(KillUIDs)Then
EraseUIDs('random');
NextPlayer(Players[CurrentPlayer].Active);
Exit;
End;
End;

That should work better.

your nearly right,

Random.dat is processed runtime, however all you need is the runtime instance of it and you can change ANYTHING you want within it.

and it will initialize without it, its created like uid.dat is, you just cant delete on run-time as it is being used.

But you can rewrite it…. Just use my little bit o' code :D

its a RAF so you cannot use an external appication to edit it, as its in use all the time runescape is running on your local machine. you need to get an instance of the raf and edit through there =]

you cant run that code then use runescape? have the script start from the homepage instead of in the world. Then just edit it before you go on :)
