—————————————————–
Please write down a paragraph about Yourself.

I'm a moderator on Freddy1990.com, I'm a very active member and I'm constantly trying new things in scripting. I spend all the time on Freddy's site but it's not as active as I would like it to be therefor I get bored. I think I would like being a member of SRL and posting around here.

The script I will be showing you IS going to be improved with the following:

- Walks into the Lumby forest to get trees when it dies
- Multi accounts
- A little anti - random

HI there!
Thanks for learning how to script, you are off to a great start!

unfortunatly this script doesnt really fit the criterai to get you in. I t looks nice, but what you need is.

*multiplayer
*antirandoms
*antiba
*failsaifs

etc, and this type of script just wont be able to cvut if for you.

Keep up the great work though, I can t wait to see you next app in a month.

If you are unsure how to make a script like that, there are plenty of example ones, not to mention some great tutorials.

Welcome to the forums btw

Hehe, if I'm unsure of how to make a script like that, I don't want to make one using SRL, I would rather make my own procedures until I'm accepted. I have never been banned using my scripts, they are very random. Multi player, I can do that today, what really do you need for anti-ban? If I make the bot chat, even with hundreds of set phrases, I can tell when somebody is autoing with SRL. Failsafs, what is that?

Thanks for the comments, however do I really have to make it with SRL? I made my own include with my own procedures, I really think that should be encouraged!

Aslo I will add anti- randoms, they will switch accounts for now, if I'm making my own for it to actually do the random, it would take a very long time, more time than I want to spend on a script I made just to stop the leachers for asking for it.

Lets see…

first of all, that propably doesnt compile because if()then works like:
if(is statement true)then…
So you cannot do if(00000)then.., it must have something like if(50 = 50)then… doesnt have to be that simple, but you know wut im talking about(hopefully).

Then, after that, instead of huge if()then rampage, you can use

if(statement is true)then
begin
case BlaBlaBla of
1: begin
// stuff
end;
2: begin
// stuff
end;
end;
end;

read the most popular tutorials in the beginners section, then look at intermediate and if you wanna some cool extra look at the advanced. Advanced as also some good stuff like DDtms and so on…

Well , i like your inthusiasm and confidence in yourself

however it is not reall necisary for every scripter to have to re-invent the wheel.

We would love to have you extra functions, and it would be much easier for you to make scripts by using srl.

Why write a whole procedure , when u could just use one line and know that it has alraeady been tried and testeD?

Huh, it compiles perfectly

lordgreggreg, it's because then it's too easy, I saw no clue when I was learning to script why it should be easy. I would much rather it be a challenge, I can script anything and I'm not trying very hard to get into SRL because well, no offence or anything, but I don't really care. I want to be accepted so I have another community I can post in, and so some of my functions/procedures can be in SRL. The PH include is only 741 lines long, I know, it should be longer I just haven't been working on it enough lately.

bobarkinator, I have not done anything wrong in your do-do not, thing, I've made maybe over 100 working scripts, I've been scripting for about a year and 3 months. My standards just aren't as high. Wait, I did your new do, thing wrong.

Hey, yes, it is easier, but to say its not a chalange is just crazy

Even with all the srl goodness, you will still have a big pain getting thigs to work right.

try walking from lumby to varcok :p trust me, its hard to do it correcly each time.

If you really are advanced as you say you are, why dont you try to make a script that can run overnight?

We would love to have you in this comunity, but if your not even going to try hard to get in, whats there to tell us that you will try hard once your in?

We like good atitudes too, no offence, but i think you will really get allot out of putting in some more effort.

Scripts that run overnight are why people get banned, my scripts add more responsibility, I will get a lot out of putting more effort, I have made an auto-walker, the challenge is not walking to Varrok, it's walking to Fally. Or Seers (I never finished that one, I got bored, it was a pointless script).

I have made scripts that run overnight just not for RS, I could make the woodcutter run overnight with proper account switching and anti-randoms.

Thanks for the feedback, however I don't think it's crazy, well I would be saying that even if I was crazy, however I like it this way, if I can make my own functions/procedures with NO help, I think that's actually an accomplishment. Using SRL makes it too easy, it doesn't feel right.

Tell ya what, you show me a script that walks to fally. I'll let ya in, that would be some proof for me. (and it needs to do it consistanly)

And perhaps i should have refraised my chalange.. a scipt that runs over night… without ever getting banned. ;)

Im glad you are able to do things on your own, as you are making scripts, you will always end up having to at some point.. and you can focus on that.

But for everything else, srl man, yes, its easier, but it is realiable, and it has already been tested.

Using SRL let's you write the real challenges. Writing something little like ClickMSColor is a waste of time, not a challenge. If you want a real challenge, write something like Ratz. The more you argue, the deeper it gets.

yep, and now you have to wrry about auto coloring, raod color chages every laoding screen, and all kinds of fun stuff.

I can't let you in, but i do know that you presenting a script like that will either A, impress everoyone enough to let you in, or B, make you start to use srl.

You have a gret headstart over everyone here, you can code very well, just drag some srl in with you, and you can REally make an impresive script :)

*sigh* If I wasn't so stubborn I might. I see Smartz's point, I could script the woodcutter, to last longer, it sounds like fun (Am I the only person who has fun scripting?).

Boreas, have you seen how long the include is? Not very long, if I'm getting around NOT using SRL and I can still create a quality script, then does it matter how much time it uses? I can learn more getting around using less resources than needed. There is always more to learn.

So if I make this woodcutter to all of the standards posted here, without using SRL could I get in? If yes, how long do I have to wait before I can re-post it?

:D good, your getting somewhere. See using srl lets you focus on the more fun parts of scripting. You can have to worry about banking or anyhting, you jst have to worry about the nice compleicated, script specific stuff. (which you will be making srl methods for us right?)

You need to use srl, dont waste you time re creating the parts you need. Thats not the point here, the point is for you to see the need for srl, and to use it.

You have a miniumum of one month to create your new srl script. There is a wiki and a srl manual on this site to help you, and tutorials too.

But yeah, bottom line, you need to use srl to be a srl member, sorry, but i t makes seince, i hope you end up liking it.

I have written 2 tutorials that may be beneficial to read if you'd like to learn SRL and possibly apply again in a month with an SRL script to get accepted =)

Try checking out the first chapter of my tut Things The Beginner Tuts Don't Teach You. Then, after you have the basic SRL commands down their, check out my tutorial Learning the things it takes to become a SRL member. Then, if you get all of those things down and have a well written script, you'll definitely get in the next time you reply.

Good luck!

Hey if you want it to be challenging think about it this way, you need to make your scripts work with SRL, thats the challenge, you need to find innovative ways to use SRL procedures and functions, with them still working the way you want. I think that could be posed as a challenge, not being able to customize everything the way you want it but still having to accomplish a goal?

But again, like everyones said, you must use SRL to be an SRL member, please re - apply in a month if you feel like it and I hope to see future scripts from you, using SRL of course :D

Ok, now you have convinced me…actually I want a sig with my SRL stats in it, so now I want to be in SRL. One issue, I'm told not to make a script just to become an SRL Member…even if it's a really good script? I mean it has to be good if I want a good sig.

Edit: my first couple of scripts were in SRL, I know the basics.

Edit2: The only thing I've read is the SCAR manual. No tutorials.

its just a bad thing to do.
Yeah, arent them srl stats awesome? Thing is , most poeple only use scripts (using is what get the srl stats)

look at wizups scipt though, his first post has a link to a scrip specific stats.
