SRL Archive - Celebratory Events

Hey,

I reached the 1k posts and would like to take this opportunity to tell you guys something about my staying here :)
I've been here since September 2006 (59%). At that time I didn't really came here to 'script', I came here to 'earn some gp's'. That's when I found CharmZ draynor willow chopper.. It was awesome! It responded, handled randoms, everything! I ran it about 2 times and then I thought: 'hey, I need 85 mining to earn some gp's!!'.

The plan was to mine in the guild to 85 mining (which was like 45k coal (h) ). I came pretty far, doing little bits at a time (30k coal - 82 mining). But at that point it was becoming a little… well… boring. :p

Then in February I came back to VillaVu to find myself a GuildMiner. Also this script was working great! I liked it.. I read it through a few times and it became more clear every time I read it.. I decided to read through CharmZ' script, I understoud a lot of it. I decided to start my own script, a Varrock West Oak Owner.. After a weekend of working it was finally there! I tested and improved it a few times and it ran for 4 hours with still players true!

After I made that script I became more active, I started to meet the community.. And I liked it! :D I started to make another script, a Yew Chopper. Actually it was not as good as my Oak Owner, but I still decided to post the Yew Chopper instead. It had better standards and better coding. People liked it, gave me tips, suggestions, etc! I was so excited! After that it was vacation and I decided to make another script: a Tutorial Island Runner. I scripted it in the weekend and posted it. Again people liked it, it actually worked for them! :D

At that point I totally forgot about RuneScape and started learning more and more.. I learned so much that I actually become a Developer! :)

Here are some posts of me in the correct timeline:

02-10-07 - My first thread ever!!
03-15-07 - My first script posted ever, I think my postcount was still below 100
03-26-07 - People are starting to notice me as a scripter (Jukka and Ejj)
04-04-07 - Instant membershipt granted! :D
05-04-07 - My first tutorial
05-05-07 - I got the SRL Master Cup!
06-01-07 - I got my Helpers Cup!
06-24-70 - I got my Tutorial Writers cup!
My latest creation > ACA

So in almost 2/3 months of being here, I learnt a lot. Grew in scriping and grew in the community. I'm really proud of being a SRL Developer now :)
I hope I can grow even further in the future and keep on making great scripts :). I would like to thank all of the great people around here, but especially Boreas, Lorax, WT-Fakawi, Wizzup, Smartzkid and RkroxPunk :)

And now a little bit of me :p.. I'm 15 years old ;) and live in The Netherlands.

Congrats, on being all around awesome… It might just be you living in the Netherlands or speaking Dutch that makes you an amazing scripter!! I know that there are many people that look up to you and want to follow down the same path. :D

I do not get this at all! For the past week, I've been at the beach daily, for about 6 hours every day. I do not put on SunTan lotion, I have my shirt off, I'm not in the shade, I'm only in the water for about an hour. And yet, I'm not even burnt yet. Is my skin so white that it reflects the UV rays?! :p.

At least my hair is being bleached naturally by the sun :D.

You should've seen the New Year celebrations in the middle of Melbourne…

Basically, my grandparents own a penthouse in a sky-scraper, so we all gathered there. And then right when it turned the New Year everybody in Melbourne got on to their balconies or streets and just shouted the Aussie chant in chorus. Then the fireworks went off, and then my Grandpa and I got this telescope and looked for "chooks" in the massive crows running across the bridge. That was crazy. Meanwhile the Aussie chant is still going on. Imagine everyone in Melbourne all shouting that, whew, that was crazy!

Lol Nielsie…I can't restrain. You still rock for not yelling at me yet :).
