SRL Archive - Jr. Member General Help and Discussion

I've returned after a long time. This time I am serious about whipping some scripts up and getting involved in the dev process.
I work in sw development, and decided to return to RS/SRL just to burn my free time.

The problem I'm facing is that lots of posts are really old/not maintained. It would be great if people could point me out to threads/posts that still hold true. I'm trying to focus on "learning how to script'/"how SRL works" sort of aspects. Not really interested in RS scripts themselves, but pointing out a few working scripts, could be a nice refresher.

Some people might find this post an example of laziness but I personally feel that I wanna dive right into something interesting, than spend hours trying to differentiate between useful and deprecated knowledge.

TLDR: It would be great if people could point me out to threads/posts that still hold true related to scripting/development

If you're looking at osrs then you're in luck. Once you've got Simba(1.3 recommended) installed a good guide to start with is https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118229

There are a few SRL scripts in the public forums that you can look at to get back in the feel of working with lape. There is a lot more activity on discord nowadays, feel free to pop in and ask away :)

Thanks! Does this mean that rs3/rs3 scripts are dead?

I think SRL-6 is not working at the moment since an interface update that removed a fixed layout recently? There was some discussion on discord while back and I think people had it working with a few changes but I dont think that made it into a public release.

Cant be sure, I havent logged into rs3 since eoc.. :/
