For those of you that suffer from acute recurrent ignorance, here are some rules and guidelines:
- Only vote "no" if you have proof the person is a spammer, liar, or overall bad guy
- Be open to different outlooks on people.
- You are not required to vote, and should not vote just to vote.
- Just because someone is not well known or not from kaitnieks does not mean they can't contribute!
- If you've gotten this far, good job. Now read "Common Sense"
Common Sense (Some bad reasons to vote "no"
): - "na i dont like his name"
- "his name is [jagex staff name], i think he's from jagex"
- "i've never heard of him"
- "someone that knew someone i knew got scammed by someone with a name like this"
- "i'm in a bad mood"
- "he used aryan at one point in his life!!! omg wtf!!!"
- "he's from [insert community name here]"
- "i feel like causing trouble"
- "i feel like going aganist and trying to undermine this srl"
- "[your name here] r st0opid?"
Remember: In the applications we are looking for the following types of people:
- People with good attitudes
- People who are willing to contribute
- People scripting with the SRL include
- People following SRL guidelines - Multiplayers, breaking out of potential infinite loops, Antirandoms, Antiban, good scripting standards etc.
Megan r st0opid?
Number "4" should be "Just because someone is not well know or not from kaitnieks does not mean they can't contribute!"

I'll just go along with the main idea of this post, and pretend to understand that. :p

Its a way to say "Hey stupid! Read this!" and confuse them in the process but get the point across none the less ;)

You use very different words, than where I live. Acute's obvious meaning is an angle less than 90 degrees. Recurrent is like repeating something, and ignorance means
stupid! So I'm like suffer from less than 90 degrees angle, repeating, and being stupid?
So obviously, I would be like Wtf! haha. :p

Lol, its common sense anyway. Everyone should know this unless they haven't voted before.

i think that way too many people are being accepted and we should stop being at lax about who we accept
we just make sure their scipt looks legit and say ok!
i think that the people should have at least 5+ posts in the help secionts helping other people with scar/SRL problems and actauly release mabyey 2+ quality scripts that WORK FOR SHURE.
A lot of people are just posing some crap the made in 10 misnutes (probaly with lots of help from a code whore on MSN) and using it to get into SRL member section.
After that they dont post anything excpet errors they get on the scripts that we worked hard on.
I know this doesnt apply to all people and there are some excpetions but i belive that overall we need to have more rules about who we accpet into SRL member.
This is just my personal opinion dont flame me for this……..:fiery:

Yeah… Look at the first page of the member list, and I see a few ppl with like 2 posts and member status. Their last login was like 4 months ago.

here is what i think…
i never accept ANYone if they have less than 5 posts. cmon, how can someones only post be thier application
dont accept anyone whos name doesnt match the name on the script…
dont accept anyone who has code for runescape which uses clickmouse() or movemouse().
ya know what really pisses me off, ive seen members with 0 posts, yeah, thats right 0 posts. if you want thier name i can find it.
i agree mostly with benland, except his first line, they dont have to be a spammer or a liar or a bad guy to not have contributed enough to SRL

Can someone make a sticky for something similiar for the applicants point of view?
Like:
Don't copy a script, yohojo will get you!
Make a script that uses SRL
Have a decent post count (not cuz we hate people with low postcount, but becasue we need to get to know you first)
There is a lot you can learn before becoming a member.
Help out people etc.
Don't just make a script for the purpose of becoming a member.
Stuff like that
Hopefully it would cut down on the number of applications that get denied right away, then we can concentrate on really sorting the 'good' from the 'bad' without worrying about the 'not a snowballs chance in hell'.

hi i have a question. An app just came in with this:
Are you affilated in anyway with Jagex LTD?
Yes
but no one seemed to notice it or give it any importance? Is it an automatic no? if it isn't why do we even ask the question?

oh oh oh, I got one! Alright, here it is *drumroll*: Don't decline people just because they have a low longetivity rating, it will be pretty clear in ones app if they will "take everything and run" (got that quote from my own application… lol), or if they will actually contribute. Prisoner and myself for example, got in with 1 longetivity status, and we both got accepted, and we are contributing, instead of doing the thing I just mentioned. So, here is how to phrase it:
Don't decline someone because of a low longetivity status!

Well, first of all and IP check can proove if the person is a banned user, and if he is a copier or can be easily checked, too, for example by asking the person to send over the other files with which he or she worked while creating the script, or simply by checking existing threads. Well, I am not saying that accepting people with awsome script and 10 posts and 1 or 0 longetivity is normal, but if a person has more than 25 (or maybe 50) posts, and the script looks reasonable, but not so awsome that it was probably done by someone with a lot more experience, then that is no reason to not allow him or her to enter. Or at least not reason enough. ;)
