Not Aloud on the Computer?

Ok, my dad told me today that he is going to install software or some program that will only let me on the computer for 2 hours a day, minus however much my brother goes on. Considering my brother is more of a computer addict than me, that means I will get around 30 Minutes or so computer time a day, so, no autoing, no SCARing, no anything. Does anyone know what I might be able to do to get on more? I dont know if I will be able to go 2 months/the rest of my life without computer for more than 30 minutes. Even two hours is small, But I guess if I cut out autoing completely, I would be able to make it. I still want to be active in this community, but with this time restriction, I might not be anymore… I want my computer time, and I want my autoing time, but 2 hours MAX a day is going to ruin those plans… :(. As I have asked above.. Does anybody know how to save my life/ computer life?????

Download and burn a linux livecd; it won't let you auto, but atleast it will let you get online. (I recommend knoppix)

Umm, I am not sure but i have seen some of the programs that limit computer usage during the day and all you have to do is boot into safe mode and login as administrator (usually no password) and you are good. Although it is safe mode.

Otherwise i would say live CD is the way to go.

Or you could tell us the program that is being used and someone here might be able to bypass it.

Oh also there is another way to bypass it if it is a program that starts when windows starts. When you get onto the computer go into run and type msconfig and go to startup tab(i think) and uncheck the program to not start on windows start. That should work also.

Umm, wrong. Depending on what the software is, he might not be able to. For example, try ending all your AVP process while not in safe mode. It protects itself, like other system processes. What you might need to do is to find a way to securely delete it from the system, either by gaining admin access and uninstalling, or through some other method. If you want to know more about this, PM me. I'll find a way for you. Been doing this for years now.

Edit: When my dad installs it, i will tell everyone what program it is, and im sure someone will help me out.

Options:

1. Go to a friends house and sleep over :D They might let you on their computer if you teach them some "complex" scripting in scar.

2. Go to the library. It might not have scar on it but you will have time to be here with us :D

3. Ask your dad 'calmly' why he is doing this… Then tell him 'calmly' your point of needing the computer…. He might undersand and loosen the restriction over time.

4. Get a job…And buy your own computer.

5. Cry…..

Hope these help, including number 5 :D,

@Option 1: He can't sleep over every week, much less every day.

@Option 2: Libraries have about the same time restrictions as he will have.

@Option 3: I think his dad does it no matter what the point is.

@Option 4: Viable, yet I feel as though his dad won't be happy, as it seems as though his dad is limiting time on A computer, not THE computer.

@Option 5: Umm, ok?

Not to bash you, but just a friendly response.

Assuming that the program doesn't embed itself into your system.

I once had a parental control software that embedded itself into your system; When I tried to kill it, it also killed the system.

Also, some software lists itself as a service (services tab in msconfig). Sort the list by Manufacturer, then look for anything with the software creator's name on it

Be careful; if the software is embedded strongly, it'll kill your system

Check your program files and just flat out delete it, OR go to Start ->> Ctrl Panel ->> Add/Remove Programs ->> The rest is self-explanatory.

Let's hope my dad doesn't hear about this program.

well, normally, the ways these work is. The person installing sets a password, and they can set a password or account to a time limit. there for, it will be running in task bar, then all you gotta do is, get your dad's pass, enter it in, and BAM! your in :P

Harry

2007-07-02 22:38:28

Yeah, download a personal keylogger. Not a keylogger that sends that data to a server, a one that is hidden that you can view later to get your dad's password :p

If it was only that easy.

That gives me an idea. Why don't you get an undetectable keylogger (I got one if you need it), then when he installs it, you'll know the password. Then just enter that in, as J_F says.

EDIT: Yup, hy said it.

Smartzkid

2007-07-02 22:42:39

:p That's probably one of the easiest solutions here

Good thinking!

Set up a keylogger before he installs it (either ron's or kane's keylogger should do fine)

Just incase, make a .bat file with this in it:

C:/Program Files/SCAR 3.06.exe -nonews -open Keylogger.scar -run[/scar]

And drag it to Start/All Programs/Startup

Then, customize keylogger.scar (or w/e you decide to call it), to hide itself as soon as it's started, with all the options preset (another recommendation: don't name it anything to do with keylogger; also take out any comments that mention keylogger. Name it something like 'RandomWallpaper' then make some fake procedures like Init, and Rotate, etc))

EDIT: Ack! Got beaten to it by two people!

Here

2007-07-02 22:45:31

Uhh, SCAR's keylogger isn't too great, as SCAR itself can be ended easily. I'll send you a local keylogger (one that'll only put logs into the C drive), it'll be better. And if you suspect me, put a firewall up, then block all outgoing connections.

Smartzkid

2007-07-02 22:54:08

Depends what keylogger you're using…

Also, it doesn't matter if the keylogger is ended, as long as he gets his dad's password…

Harry

2007-07-02 22:55:21

I don't know if I am allowed to post this up here, just edit me out if I can't, here's they keylogger I use. It is totally undetectable even in task mananger. It will only pop up if you do the hotkey. :D I have gotten MANY times my mom has changed the pass.. :p

The keylogger would be the best idea, and you could get a decent summer job at 14, at least in the US. I work at a pool, and I'm only 15. I only make minimum wage (which got raised to $5.85 an hour last week :p), but you could find a laptop or desktop PC on the cheap for a few hundred bucks and be fine.

Indeed. Scar would prolly lag on a laptop, unless it was a high-end model.

Not just SCAR, but unless your looking for portability, you should buy expensive laptops, as they are virtually impossible to upgrade (except for RAM and sometimes processor).

My thoughts:

-You have spent a long time trying to figure out a way around it. You can spend it working on a script.

-You could get a job as a soccer ref or something. That pays GREAT money!

-Try talking to your dad and asking if you can run scar overnight.

-Use "Action Spy Keylogger" trial. (search google)

-System restore after he installs it. :D

-Give the comp a virus and run away? IDK….. ;)

1). 15 minutes maybe? I cant make a script in that time.
2). I dont want a job, and I dont need one. If I bought another computer, he wouldnt let me on that anyway.
3). I am going to.
4). I will if he wont let me do the above

not about SCAR scripting  and btw i think you should first talk to your dad then if he doesn't want to listen make his life hard if he grounds you don't fall for that crap get out of your bedroom and open the tv again then when he gets really pissed and starts hitting you hit back (works like a charm with me and im 14 )

reasons that keylogger won't work

1. ur dad will c ur on pc longer (the program will tell him)

2. if you remove it your dad will find out.

3. overall he will think of something else to make u spend less time on pc :(

I know born2code you were joking about the virus, I am going to use Rons scar keylogger, cause i dont want to download anything else, and if it doesnt work, i will just bribe him or something :)

EDIT: I want to try the thing that smartz said, but I dont understand it really, could somebody help me out? I have the bat file, but i dont know how to get it into the startup thing?

Jagex_Fagex

2007-07-08 20:04:44

drag it into the start menu.. in the startup section. and the program won't tell him how long it was on. not normally. i guess it depends on the program though.

Kik

2007-07-11 15:40:49

If you delete the entire thing, he'll probably find out and just redownload it. Just delete a plugin or some necessary file needed to run it.

Here

2007-07-11 19:49:41

If it's not running and won't run when he tries to run it, then that would be as suspicious as the program not being there.

Here's from my 3 months trying to get rid of 'NetNanny' (i hate that shit to hell!) and the MacAfee Parrental controls:

Google for KBG keylogger, it pwns, can run undetected and get screen shots, websites, keystrokes, basically whatever you do to the comp, it records XD

orrrrr… you could write a brute-forcer (those things don't usualy count #of times you try to enter the password) and really, that's the whole reason I got into programing (not anymore though, I like it 'cause its fun XD) BTW, bruteforcers are A LOT easier to write in SCAR than in BASIC or AutoItV3 :duh: its like 3500 lines of code in autoit…

I'd use the keylogger but if all else fails, write the brute-forcer XD

Here

2007-07-11 21:29:40

Why write it? John the Ripper is more than enough. Anyways, KGB is detectable. Easily. Pack it and scramble the header if you want it undetectable.

NxTitle

2007-07-11 21:34:38

Is john the ripper a brute forcer? If you are trying to find someone's password, I would suggest it, but I'm not exactly sure where the windows passwords are stored. I've heard many things, such as it being stored in some SAM file or somewhere in the registry, but I can't seem to find it.

rotflmfwao

2007-07-11 21:36:56

Some of those programs can be pretty complicated, and hard to end / uninstall. Your best bet would to be to get an operating system that can run off a CD - Linux has many copies of this, but one time I remember seeing a version of Windows that could do the same. But remember, you're very limited as to what you can actually do with these, but you MAY be able to SCAR / Auto. Maybe.

um actually thats easy cause im guessing he will only limit the time to you and your brother so just start up the computer fresh and go into setup to make a new admin account on the comp or just change the password so you can get onto the admin account. thats what i did on old windows 95 when i forgot pass and it wouldnt let me on
