I watched this program a couple of hours ago…It was called “Game Revolution”. Im just posting this thread to see if you guys believe any of the stuff in it is true

1. 25000 computer fans go watch people play star-craft against each other in a stadium built for this event.
2. America sells killing games to get people more interested in joining the army
3. Certain games like re-mission (think that was the name) helps heal leukemia
4. Games cause aggression.
5. Some people play computer as a sport and train 14 hours a day.
6. People marry by gaming.
7. Games were the cause of “bowling for Columbine” and a 14 year old shooting 8 people at school 5 in the head

There are still a couple of points left but I can’t bother to think of them…

Do you think the points above are true?

Oh man, its like you purpousfully picked out controversial points. This is going to get ugly. Perhaps move it to the bbq pit lol.

2 is actually true i would say. But America sells very few killing games for that purpose but they have before.

7 I would say is totally false. Games to most people are a stress breaker and a time passer, not something you want to re enact. I would guess columbine was caused by "bullying" if you like to put it that way. But i like to say that it is just people being total asses.

1 I actually have gone to watch people play starcraft in a stadium only because I was one of them playing. Can't wait for starcraft 2!!!!!

3 i heard about that one, its kinda like trauma center. I think they just say that because then you can be happy because you can have fun while being in a hospital.

4 I think it is the total opposite for most people. People usually play games to get aggression out or relieve stress.

5 I know people like this, it is because they play in tournaments for games like Counter strike source and they can win tens of thousands of dollars for being that good.

6 People that play MMORPGs do (and you have to be a complete nerd), not FPS.

Lordgreggreg…I never said this was all true…I just wanted peoples opinion on this documentary…

I think it is the total opposite for most people. People usually play games to get aggression out or relieve stress.

The researchers actually went into the persons brain to find out…don't know if thats true either…
