 I will first make sure you have basic knowledge about scar(syntax 
+ some of the important functions/procedures). Then i will introduce you to basic 
srl and multiplayer. Then a little bit of object finding and after that you will learn 
about autocoloring(make autocolors yourself!!!) and walking(RadialRoadWalk mainly). 
If you have any specific questions while i am explaining, please ask. 
Be prepared to get linked to tutorials, you can ask questions if you dont understand 
the tutorials, but if you think you understand it, i will test you. For your member script
(sort of an exam) you will write the script and decide what the script will be yourself. 
i will help with specific questions and if you think it is good enough, show it to me first
and i will tell you if you will make it or not.

i will also give lessons to multiple people at the same time, the lessons will go as follow:
I will choose the time of this event, and if you wont be able to be there, then i am sorry 
for you. You are not allowed to speak except for designated question periods and at the 
end of the lesson.

Now that im thinking about it, it might not be a good time to do this now…because im working during harvest, which can be at any time depending on the weather…and up to 11-16 hours a day.

- Some things are a bit hard to understand without someone explaining them to you. I learn a lot from tutorials, but nothing can replace someone actually explaining something to you for your specific case.

- I've been a part of the community for a short time, but I'm already fairly active. I won't waste people's time by asking stupid questions without trying to fix it myself first either.

Because i have an understanding of most of the scripting knowledge needed to write a SRL Member script, i just need some help putting it all together.

Like already stated before, i know most of the knowledge needed to write a script (except finding such things as trees, mining places, etc with coloring), so i will require less time then people who do not have this knowledge. I enjoy learning new procedures, and neat things that you can have SCAR perform.

Well, it's kinda hard to understand who exactly is a mentor, but from what i understand, garrett first, then iloveit.

I wish i had the time, always wanted to give scar scripting a go but so many things to do, never enough time.

there are 4 mentors and 4 students currently. Why not just have the current students come to a decision as to who they would prefer as a mentor until everyone has a selected one?

I think Boreas has the right idea. I mean, heck, we may have a preference as to who we would want, but the goal is the same, to learn what is needed to apply for SRL Member and write an acceptable SRL Application script.

And if it does become this way, I'm in EST, or GMT -5 hours.

I'm in the same timezone as Esteban. I would prefer that we do it late at night though. Like late at night. Like midnight or one or two. . .like it is now. I should go to bed.

I am in AST or -4 GMT or whatever, 1 Hour ahead of esteban and crossback, but I would prefer not at midnight, because that is 1 in the morning for me, and I am in bed :p

I think working with Garrett would be appropriate, and i could be mentored at a much more reasonable time ;).

yeah boreas is right:) yes you can start mentoring, wont stop you, but it might be usefull to tell your time zone and say when you will be available…
im gmt + 1 and im available somewhere from 4 pm till 10pm or something(i have dinner and homework in between though) and friday i have almost no time untill like 9pm. during the weekends im usually available all day(11am till 11pm or something) and after this week im not sure, school will be finished for me but i have lotsa free time then;)

When does tutoring begin?

I really like the idea of this mentoring program and everyone that is getting involved…I understand that gaining SRL Member status is a big achievement for everyone here, However , I think the motivation for learning to script, should be ones' own sense of self pride and a by-product of this, would be the possibility of being knowledgeable enough to be able to apply for SRL Members and be successfully accepted.

Maybe change the title to something like….."SRL Mentoring Program" and your credo to…something like….become the best you can…As even though you may have a great knowledge of scripting, there are other factors that are taken into consideration when voting on members as well……..

of course, these are just my humble opions……

There are a lot of reasons…
1. I want to learn how to script!
2. I don't want to be classified as a leacher (SP?). You guys have helped me out a lot and i want to help other people.
There are more reasons, but I am drawing a blank :/

Well mostly because, I will be loyal, I am on the PC a whole lot. I will try to learn, the concepts of it, but its been a little confusing for me. I would probably need a good teacher to help me out.

I referred a couple of people to this thread recently, so don't flame him for grave digging ;)….I realize it's a couple of months old, but if anyone is interested in mentoring new people still…Please make a thread here and will make a new thread and sticky it, so people can know who they can contact for help.

Made some scripts my own, made a pretty good power miner.
And i was trying to make a red chinchompa catcher, but that one didn't worked out to well :s
