For sure. I can say with near utmost confidence that SRL has provided a lot more than Runescape scripts to most of the SRL Members+ here.

Hey everyone  Just wanted to stop by and mention the exact same thing! SRL is what really got me enthusiastic about programming (and the reason a language like Pascal is on my résumé ). I got my undergrad in computer science and got a job as a software engineer at one of the "Big 4" companies.

I specialized in "intelligence" for my CS degree (which meant AI, ML, etc.), and I think so often of how much writing scripts here mimics the principles and concepts of that area of computing.

Computer vision, for example… and knowledge-based AI techniques… there's so much of it inherently embedded in botting scripts that writing them is almost the perfect 'simulation' of having to integrate these fields of study.

Anyway, despite soo many years having gone by and evolving as a person along the way, I consistently reminisce about my active time on the forums here. So, I also want to give a big thank you to everyone here. I wonder where the hell I'd be in life had I never been part of this amazing, impenetrable, unwavering community.

Hi all, im so glad this community exists. Going through my past posts brings back nostalgia. I love come back here and checking how things are going. SRL definitely got me into loving coding early and had an impact on my career choices.

Hey hey, every couple of years I log in just to see whats going on here at SRL! Its still here and going! I cant say also that SRL has led me to a career my story is actually far from it haha. My childhood of building websites, scripting for RS, making maps for COD zombies, creating bots for WoW & being a hardcore gamer. I spent literally countless hours of my life on the computer, I used to eat sleep computer repeat every day. Fast foward till now. Its all changed.. im now a qualified electrician here in Sydney, ever since getting the trade ive never even played a computer game or anything, its crazy how life just takes a big turn :).

Now lifes all about building my 4wd, its a little Daihatsu Rocky 1996 on my own just by researching shit up. Guess its similar to old scripting times but hands on ;).

Happy 10th birthday, SRL! :spot:

I hope to start with the Human Computer Interaction master programme next year. RuneScape has certainly played a role in this choice. I want to learn more about Computer Vision, Speech Recognition and creating good, usable interfaces. Just like a SRL script which using computer vision to detect objects in RuneScape and a GUI must be easy to use without a tutorial.

I have completed a double Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction & Design a little of a year ago.

Since then I've mostly been focusing on creating apps / interfaces for people who are blind or visually impaired.

That's incredible :O

Alot has happened in the past two years… The cliff notes version is that I graduated from university and moved to Germany to work/travel for a couple of years and am getting to work on some really cool stuff involving ML/DS and finance!
