Ccleaner isnt a virus scanner :| It just cleans up your registry. run spyware search and destroy and then post back its results. It usually cleans stuff like that.

Never heard… I hope someone a little more pro in this area comes soon.
Edit: oh, alex posted just before me, try that. And yes CCleaner is not anti-virus.
It removes cookies and things like that.

Try deinstalling spysweeper and then try again.
I *THINK* (but not sure) that it is a false positive.
After you did that reinstall firefox.

don't just stick with one virus removing program ether get atleast 3.

Xoft Adware remover
Spy bot - Search and destroy


i cannot think of the other ones…
but that should do.

I have never found it to work.



you may want to help your computer out a bit by cleaning it up manually aswell.

I made a Scan yesterday, and this is the results…

If you really have like 300 viruses/spywares, I would strongly suggest burning all important pics/scripts/flies to CDs and reformat your HD and reinstall your OS.
After you have done that, get some good firewall (I love Zonealarm pro), Ad-aware, Spybot, EasyCleaner and stuff like that.

Do scans weekly and don't let suspicious programs connect internet. (That's why I love Zonealarm, it always asks if I want to allow program acces the internet)

U should change ALL ur passwords u have like 4 keyloggers :P

Because I don't want my parents to find out about this :P Hopefully I can fix it in time, because they use credi cards on the internet. I warn them now not to use it.

I'd recommend trying Kaspersky, I think they have a 30 day trial for it…

It has the 'proactive defense' or whatever they call it, which is basicly it looks through running programs and if it's suspicious then it asks you if you want to kill it. I even had to whitelist my keyboard's driver since it thought it was keylogging me :P

I use AVG, it also asks before you even use any program lol. But it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

i have a key for kaspersky, like 2 years left on it lol.. yea, kaspersky is great.. and also look at the processes running, and if you know that there a virus/keylogger/spyware, boot up in safemode, do a search, and delete it manually (make sure you know what your doing)

and lordgreg, plesae stop typing like that, it annoys the hell out of meh, and I know atleast 1 person for sure that also doesn't like you typing like that =)

Try googling that virus and you might find some more information about it. Also get a better antivirus than CCleaner (I doubt it's a antivirus at all).. If that won't help -> safe mode -> delete.. IF that won't help, or you get rid of the virus but it "returns" after every restart or something as such (bunch of copies everywhere that antiviruses won't pick up or so) then.. Reformat? :eek:

Off topic but, any idea where you got the virus from (porn …)?

Can't talk on msn cause I'm not at home and I'm using a laptop with a crappy and slow gprs connection :p

I don't know what created the virus, but my dad was downloaded all this crap (mostly porn) and other shit thats skyware, and after 3 years of having this computer, all this shit is coming up lol.

Lol ya I usually run a spyware check about once a week with spybot and it will take care of all that.

Why doesn't RuneScape work for me? When I am going to world select a choose a world, it's about to load, and all of a sudden, it just exits the whole browser screen by itself without moving the mouse. I have Java installed, but it is still messed up.

Another Problem, Im trying to email myself 440mb worth of IMPORTANT pictures from my families life, but they wont send. I tried AIM Mail, GMail, and Yahoo mail. It just wont send. and it's pissing me off so badly! And I need to send it to myself because, I'm doing a system restore soon. So please help! How Can I Protect it from getting delted from system restore when I can't email them to myself?

Have you tried downloading the RS client as a file instead of accessing it from a webpage? Try that and post back. Also open the Task Manager and go to the RS webpage place and load it up and tell me whats going on in the Task Manager, is it closing, simply disappearing (with the icon still active in the tak manager) etc.

Plus I don't think its possible to send 440mb of pics in Gmail, Im pretty sure the cap is around 120mb or w/e, unless you partition them and archive them I'm pretty sure you cant send a file that big.

Well if your talking about pics, then look at the cap of sending.

Say its 120mb then partition your photos into different folders. each folder being aroudn 120mb, now it would be a hassle to send all of those photos individually so just use WinRar to archive them and then send each one separately. So if you ahve like 440mb worth of pics, archive them under the cap sending limit. This will be easier to upload and you don't have to upload the entire 440mb worth of pics onto like Rapidshare or MEgaupload.

Edit: I should have explained that its a very good antivirus and is worth a shot but in your place I would just reformat.

I dont kinow if you have an external HD, but I would get on another pc, download Knoppix there (linux lve cd), and save all of your precious files on the external hd.
Then reformat, install windows again and just copy your files back.
And your Runescape may not load because your Java can't handle all the virusses.

I don't think you can do anything with a virusscanner. You got some pretty aggresive virusses and those block the install of all scanners.

NO no.. Don't rush into formatting unless you have taken care of everything that is important.

Runescape probably does not work because of the virus, as well as the email etc.

thirdly, umm.. is the antivirus letting u remove the virus detected after u do the scan?

I can get rid of the viruses, I am 99% sure cuz I have had stuff like this..

Also, ur running an anti spyware software.. Try to also do a scan with anti-virus..
