I thought I was doing a nice thing for you by making this section. But then you go and blab about it. If you want to hurt my feelings, just be up front about it. Say it to my face, call me an idiot. But what did I do to deserve it?

The point (one of the biggest points) of giving this section to you was for you to have a leak free environment. God knows the members section has enough leaks. Leaking SSRL completely defeats the purpose. Now this section is useless. Good job.

I hate leakers, that's the reason why i rarely post anything like scripts or code, they ruin everything, lemme capitalise that, EVERYTHING!

It happened outside of forums.
Someone told another Someone who inst liked very much.
He then asked boreas about the section, and ask if people 'recommend' others to get accepted.
He then asked boreas to recommend him for SSRL member and boreas said no, your not even suppoed to know about it.

Not gonna say any names or everyone will get angry.

Why not just oust that SSRL member?

If they leaked, then, obviously, they cannot be trusted, right?

We do now know who told the outside guy about SSRL, therefore no actions can be taken.

Back in the Kaitnieks days 50 rep would give you automatic access to the inside forums. It was commonly known that such a forum existed, though not many people enjoyed the priveledge of 50 rep, which was kinda hard to obtain. Anyway, it is commonly known to SRL-registrees that there are in fact quite a number of levels above the Senior Member. There is the Inside SRL… forums accesible for Devs only, and then there a couple of mod and admin hideouts and there is the Holy Trinity.

Point is: Let it be known there is a Senior Member Board, and let it be known that through good attitude the changes of becoming one of us grow with every post you make.

Best is, be clear to the general audience, that leaking will not be tolerated! But face the reality of Big Time leaking. Albeit generosity, friendship, or general showing-of, a script, a KYAB, a Dev-Script it is all too easily sent. It happens all the time.

Live with it. It's not that big-a-deal is it? Circumstances given, I'd say we are still on the right track and still making a massive impression on newbies about our good spirit.

But wohever leaks will be banned, I can assure you that *grrr*. Twentythousand members, one less….see if I care! :sasmokin:

The problem is this forum is created on a trust-base.. If we already have people leaking, how can we trust them with our scripts that we post in here, etc?

rs monkey was on ventrilo with me and we totally forgot special was there XD.
He mentioned it and special was like what?
so basically we screwed are selves there… but that was an accident.
and i swore special to secrecy and he is fully trustworthy cause i know by the type of person he is XD.

Boreas. Remember when you first made it, it said Senior SRL members = yellow at the bottom where it says people who are logged in. And in the staff section, it had a list of Senior members. You forgot to remove that.. And maybe some people got it from there?? IDK, that very well could have happened to.

I knew something along these lines would happen sooner or later.

Ban the person who told about this section and make a clear post/thread (don't know if this is already in place, as I'm not on these forums often) that states "If you tell or leak anything from this section it will result in an instant ban".

By not banning the person who "leaked", you are showing poor, and even weak administration of the forums as a whole. Be harsh, be an asshole. Demand respect and cooperation. If they don't like it, then show 'em the door (figuratively of course).

C'mon guys. Nothing can be kept a secret. We all know that, all we can do is pretent. It is just impossible to control every single bit of code flowing through this board. I know that cause over the years I have found my "private" scripts at the strangest outposts of the web.

Well, I haven't been here in a while. I respect the people that didn't leak SSRL, such as Ejjman1 and Bebemecat2, both of them I speak to a lot on MSN, and neither of them told me of such a forum even though Ejjman1 was contemplating on suggesting me for one.

Ok, here is my little lame speech on why not leech this section. Here goes :)

Ok, when I first came here, it was still pretty new, the general idea of the forum was to learn advanced scripting techniques, no scripts then were released and still aren't, but that's besides the point. I mainly quit because I lost interest, with only 4(?) scripts released, with not much quality to them(Noobfighter, V2, being my early ones, something else and my beta EVM). My first few thoughts were a bit immature, I saw some flaming that generally could be put aside, not much happened, I moved house and only just got back on to find a leecher.

What is the problem with leeching is this, things people worked hard on to teach respected people, or to perhaps treat them, the work on it has been lost and everyone may have it when it shouldn't be for them(yet), this discourages people to release anything of value to them, and from thereon, gets discouraged to post anything there at all. Of course, this will change from person to person, but it will discourage people. Fawki made SRL Members to prevent leeching, slowly that got leeched and I assume Boreas made SSRL for the same reason. But I expected more, this is a forum to improve scripting techniques, Boreas trusted us with a simple request, not to tell anyone about it. I don't understand how people can abuse something they have gained from learning to learn techniques to improve what they can do.

People such as Fawki and Wizzup? here are legends, as well as the other mods and admins, they're willing to show us advanced scripting techniques with perhaps, some in return, so my message to any possible leecher is this, why sacrifice an amazing opportunity's to please some people that will probably never develop scripting capability's to actually use some of the things here? I'm sure, in time, people will release scripts here, again, why throw away more of the fun from scripting, learning and having fun, just to please some snotty noes brat? Beats me. :\
