I though that we wernt supposed to mention KYAB on the free forums, but i just looked around, and its mentioned everywhere! All of the non members know what it is, I thought we wernt supposed to tell them anything? I guess it is sortof good, because now more people will want to get better at scripting and apply, but we will get more shit apps, from the leechers that want our perfect everything. What does everyone think about this?

can you link to any specific threads?

Well we can talk about it, but we can't make Free member scripts or give out links for download

masquerader, bobinarker or whatever, made a thread in the request thing, and it turned out to have about 3 free members talking about KYAB, and a bunch of members giving more info, and talking about it freely, even though its our little secret.

There have been people like RKroxpunk telling a non member called HugoLord about it… EVERYBODY should be notified, and told that they will be instantly de-ranked if they leak anything about it..

Because some people didn't know it was secret, so a lot of people leaked. If it's a big deal that non members shouldn't know, then we should do something to prevent leaking. If it's not that huge of a deal and the admins don't really care, then it's fine, we just wouln't let anybody leak them scripts/a download link to KYAB.

In all the threads (in non members), the word KYAB is replaced with waffle, I believe. People who posted there now will understand it's members (I hope).

mmmm sorry guys I told Hugolord…..well it was more confirmed. He came and started asking me questions about KYAB so someone had already told him, and I told him about it as I didn't know that we weren't even aloud to talk about it. Once again I give my sincere apologies, but he promised he wouldn't tell anyone and so far the worst i've seen him post about it is that he knows there's a new members walking thing but he's not aloud to talk about it.
I didn't realise we couldn't talk about it, oh well I can't see much harm coming out of it

I can see harm coming out: with KYAB we ARE infringing copyrights. The Public Forum is monitored by SpiderBots, so anything you say there will be in Google within 48 hours. Copyright infringement is what took kaitnieks down, we dont want this to happen here….

We all agreed to keep KYAB semi private as long as neccesary, so please DONT talk about it. If you really persist in talking about this with your non-member MSN buddies, please make it clear to them that KYAB convos in Public Forums are NOT allowed!

This is very serious, we have an amazing tool here let us keep it from becoming another aryan. I do like the waffle change but.

Fawki, why does kyab infringe on copyrights?

Also, just curious about what copyrights kaitnieks was infringing as well? I always wondered if there was a reason aside from "he had a kid"

Well I've seen many members mention KYAB on here, neither me nor the person I told have not said it once, nor will we. Also Benland seems to have no problem with us talking about it although now that i know about all this copyright crap I agree that it shouldn't be. However at the time I was asked it was not made clear at all that we weren't aloud to talk about it. I think there should be a big sticky in the KYAB forums about this. I'm not sure if there is one now but well there wasn't when I passed on the details of KYAB.
But yes what copyright laws would we be infringing. As far as i'm aware it's only infringing copyright laws if u edit the client, but I thought Solar said the client is in no way editted.

Sorry i'm a bit………..thickinthehead :D

The client isn't edited, but its decompiled and that in itself is breaking copyright laws I think.

Yes I made a thread to ask people the hardest walking script they could think of to improve my walking skills, then Dark mentioned KYAB and it seemed quite a few people knew about it.

i think searching for kyab wont result in any non-members threads now, benland has a link to a kyab thread in his sig, so whatever..

i was thinking about removing it, but didnt want to mess him

after all, its his project and he should decide how public it is

Googling KYAB results in non-members posts, but none the link or give an idea of what it is.

But if everyone DLed it, what are they doing talking 'bout it?! The thread says its private.

Erm how is it breaking laws, it's just reading stuff from pipes…

It doesn't have decompiled client in itself, it loads applet from rs site(afaik).

It's in NO WAY Modifying client, you're only breaking Rule 7 = Giving yourself unfair advantage ;-)

Aww crap, we're screwed. Jagex is going to kill us for that one… :\

On a more serious note, I haven't said anything to anyone :D
