5/29: successfully tracking current and next-closest NPC with pretty colors :)

Started this today and I'm happy with the results so far. The script does all the color picking for you. Inspired by @bonsaiFighter of course. Also thank you @Olly @CynicRus

It's a bit slow ATM because gatherIn has 20+ colors to go through. I'll be working on it a lot over the next few days so hopefully I can speed it up a bit.

Also planned on releasing this :)
What do you use to check if you are in combat?

How I detect npcs;
Around 10 cts2 colors, gather those in TPA, cluster in ATPA with low distance and sort by highest.
I either only attack the TPA with most points or check the first and second. (While length Atpa > 2 do remove(atpa(highest)) -> for i = 0 to high(atpa) do..

Have a look at the mayors tutorial on using records to find models, could be usefull.

I think you are using TPA.toAtpa? Should use cluster instead, works better and faster.

Why would you need 20 colors btw? You dont need that many using cts2 I'm sure.
If you dont want to miss out on loot, sure you can use more, but for finding models it isn't needed at all.

I use a DTM of the lock in my other scripts. Works fine.

Yup, already using them.

I'm using cluster. What you see in the video is smartImage.drawATPA

That's just how many the script gives me at the moment. I'll be working on speed it up as I go along. Also planning on adding looting.

I selected the colors myself, only using my script at 1 location. I use the exact same object Finder for looting. (Just other colors/cluster size). Colors are just a color array. One T2Dcolorarray for NPC, other for loot.

Ye but sometimes your draw.atpa showed multiple tpa's on 1 cow in that vid, so I assumed you didn't use cluster/split but toATPA.

Ah the dtm was expected (a la bonsai) I was hoping for alternatives methods.

Cant wait to see how you select the colors :)

Hmm I just watched again and didn't see a single case of this. Each cow is just one color at a time.

I've never had a problem with the lockDTM.
The color finding is pretty simple ATM. Just mouse over the NPCs, check for 'Attack', store that color if true. Then group similar colors together, convert to CTS2, and check them by right clicking (the video starts in the middle of this stage)

I meant at the start of the vid :) how do you group similar colors? :)

Oh the start is just filtering out bad colors. After that it starts tracking the cows with the good ones.

similarColors(); :p

Haha yeah. I had never used drawATPA() before so it was a nice surprise when it turned out like that.

Can you pm me the code later? Realy interested in how you pick the colors :)

Added some basic combat functions and it works pretty well. The color gathering process takes awhile but I'm going to work on writing the color data to a file so you only have to do it once :) (again similar to bonsaiFighter)

And yes, you only need to change the one constant :p

Just wondering, to start of with are you splitting the screen into small boxes and checking the pixel shift in each box and using that check each box with a high pixel shift to minimize the random mouse movements?

Nope, no pixel shift at all. I use the minimap dots to get points on the mainscreen, then mouse within a certain radius of those points while checking for mouse-over text. Every successful color gets stored until certain number (200-500), then those colors get grouped and converted to CTS2 parameters in a T2DColorData variable. Then each TColorData is checked by right clicking and the bad ones are thrown out. And BAM, you have a nice set of CTS2 values for any NPC in 10-30 seconds. (The troll video takes forever because I was still figuring a few things out)

Ran if for a few hours at wfs while I played with debugging and it works really well.

Tracking is looking insane! Cant wait to see the final result :)
How do you track your current NPC? What happens with multi target abilities?

I'm using the red circle for the current NPC. I'll have to test it on some other monsters to see how it holds up.
I wasn't using multi-target abilities, but it would depend on how often you were refreshing. I think you could just refresh less frequently and it would have a good chance waiting while another NPC became the target

There will be a few parameters to tweak every time you go to a new monster, but I'm planning on storing all the settings and colors so you only have to get it right once. I'm moving over the next few days, so it might be a while before I get anything accomplished :(

I meant to ask how you scripted that tracking :) how does your script know that NPC is the one you are fighting?

Oh I meant the red reticule in the game itself.

Ooh okay, but does that work properly for you with monsters you can 1-hit?

I haven't tested that but the reticule appears pretty much as soon as you click on the NPC.
