My story on how to max your account and withouth ban

Hello guys,

Since I've been botting for few years i'm going to share some of my methods to avoid botting.

Script Quality

As you've probably guessed I only use private scripts for accounts I actually care about.

Now how do I maintain these scripts?
The most important thing in botting is your script, without a decent script you can forget all the other steps because you will get banned.

Efficiency

A normal person always tries to do things most efficient, so try to make your script efficient, by watching some clips about the bot you're going to create. Runecrafting used to be a very good way of mimicking this.

Versatile

Your script should have multiple ways of doing things. Example : You could click the banker with left click or right click bank. Walking paths can be versatile aswell. Simple as that.

Fail safes

When scripting you should always think like : "What should my script do If this happens?", build fail safes so your script doesn't get stuck somewhere.

Human like

Antibans are a must for scripts IF you run them for a long period of time. Think about it…what player would play 10h+ doing the same exact thing over and over? None right? So make your script missclick from time to time, let it check the friends list, skills, mouse of out client and so on.

Enjoy the game

I actually play the game after I bot for a few hours, I do bosses/quests/D&D and so on. This is very important if care about your account.

Social ingame

I'm part of a runescape a clan and attend events, I also take some time to talk to some of my clan members and do fun stuff with them.

Positioning

Think twice before picking a spot, as most people know red chinchompa botting is just asking for a ban. There are heavily botted area's which you most likely would avoid when botting, especially with an account you care about!

Last but not least keep your knowledge up to date, track the runescape news/twitter and so on to avoid bot hunting events. Keeping your knowledge up to date also gives you the opportunity to make scripts for places where people never expect bots.

Thanks for reading and be safe!

Fail-safes and positioning are the most important IMO. Don't let your script get stuck and don't stay in the same busy place on the same world for 20 hours a day like I did :p

I honestly don't think 'human' antiban (misclick, random camera rotations, right/left click) does anything. The most important thing is to not get REPORTED.

BTW how long did it take you to max?

I agree. Someone who's spent a lot of time doing something isn't going to keep making silly mistakes like that. Hell, I've literally never thought to myself "I'm bored, I'll right click this time instead of left click" while doing something (though I do rotate my camera and check xp and so on every so often). I've been running scripts that I write or tweak myself so they don't fail; I either don't put antiban in or remove the antiban because I don't feel like it's worth the time it takes to do it, and I haven't been banned after close to two months of fairly heavy botting (say, 10-14 hours per day on average, running on my second monitor so I can babysit).

Started in 2009, So 6 years, I also got 20m+ exp in agility, rc and some other skills with bot.

After being obsessed with implementing biometrics and other humanlike antiban features, I and others have found conclusively that it does nothing (months of botting accounts with no antiban in scripts, 0 bans).
The rest of your post contains some good tips though, which I certainly agree with! :)

I really like your biometric antiban procedures! I think they have a lot of value. It's just that right now, I don't think Jagex gives any damns about bots right now. I'm starting to think that they only do bot bans in periods when it won't hurt them too much economically to do so. Since membership is dwindling, I'm not surprised that they aren't banning at all.

It does seem inevitable that they'll begin banning again, so…. Just in case…

I've heard you mention this a few times, but never heard the details. Any chance of you doing a write up with your evidence, etc? I'd really like to read it.

Since this is became and antiban discussion thread.

My thing I think matters a lot is not mousing the middle of a TPA but a random element of it.

Mouse(TPA[random(Length(TPA))])

Clearly it's subjective, he does activities most bots don't.

I totally agree with it. To a certain degree. Atm i am using suicide scripts like fungus, and swamp lizzards collectors which has 0 antiban. And compared to the ones who had antiban antiban indeed atleast in my data range increases ban chance:D. The logic is the less stuff you do the less data jagex has. And the lower chance youll get stuck somewhere during antiban procedures for example if opening skilltab fails and you press some advertisement or poll. Althrough i always try to avoid quaranteed sequences cause they look very bot like. This acts as like forgetfullness. Some months i have like 0 bans on my 60+accounts running :) some months i have like 10-16 But thats nothing compared to like last year running those account i would have gotten on average 90-100 bans per month.

About reports. I have litteraly one account reported like thousand times, hes still botting today and past 11+months. I know those reports cause hes my test account and i dont bother answering noobs so they keep reporting:). Mostly what and probably past few months the only thing which gets me banned is being stuck for long periods of time.

Clearly it's not subjective because Clarity has reason to believe that the evidence he has is conclusive of antiban being less than useful. A well-known script writer and community member says that he has conclusive evidence, that is well and truly enough to pique my interest.

The only reason anti-bans exists are for the sole purpose that the script does not follow the same routine over and over again. So every one of us should implement them unless they already know the script does not follow the same exact routine over and over again. One of the easiest things to check if a player is botting is 'The search for patterns' which obviously is used by a lot of gaming companies. The more versatile your script is, the harder it is for jagex to catch you but then again your script takes more time to develop, so It's really up to the player to decide what he wants.

The anti-bans are for the mouse movements that jagex logs. Another point is that jagex logs your character position by sending packets to the server and then analyses how often a character
travels through the locations it visits on its route, and looks at the amount and length of repeating subsequences in the route.

Fyi: Jagex don't care for mouse movements. A few people on rs-h have made packetbots and didn't bother to send any sort of mouse data and never got banned (One of them even has an account on the second page of the agility highscores lol)

Now thats funny xD, Well hey might be true that jagex doesn't care about mouse movements, but I will be off the radar when they suddenly do.

Honestly, this is pure speculation, just like most antiban posts. That's why I would like to see a writeup from Clarity on his findings that includes the evidence that he has gathered to support his position that antiban isn't necessary.

he's not perfect and didn't articulate himself perfectly

he's a jmod in disguise

I do look forward to seeing his response. unless he's a jmod, in which case I've now blown his cover and he'll never post in this thread again!

Nothing's wrong with it, it just isn't clear that it's necessary to avoid a ban.

That's a great idea, I would love to do a research paper-style report! I'll work on compiling this :)

In the end I don't think anti-ban has much effect on whether you get banned or not. But I generally tend to add some basic stuff to have peace of mind.

2 things I think you should always remember. Don't get reported by players and don't bot for insanely long sessions. No bans yet :)
