Feast….maybe not the greatest because I haven't seen many horror movies, but it is by far the most gory movie in 30 years.

-The Ring #1- Great.
-High Tension- Looked like crap, never saw it though.
-The Exorcist- FTW!
-Bug- Looks good but I haven't seen it yet.
-Hannibal- Never saw whole thing.
-Hill Have Eyes 2- Looked good, but didnt look as good as the first one.

BUT THE SCARIEST MOVIE EVER MADE IS:

WHEN A STRANGER CALLS
(Not the new version, the old one)

High Tension does look like crap because it's a french dub. Have you seen Psycho (the black and white from Hitchcock)? Think of a twist along the same lines :D

Exorcist is the only actual 'scary' movie..
;)
Ohh, and the original Psycho.

What no one mentioned Dawn of the dead?

The original that is. That movie was one of the first to have concrete proof of gore and violence doesn't make a dumb movie.

If you haven't seen it, find it and see it. Oh, and if you want, search for the remake that was aired on G4TV last Halloween, I was one of the zombies :P

I thought all of the Ring movies sucked. I laughed through them.

The Hannibal Lector series was good though. Same with the 6th Sense and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A lot of scary movies these days are just gore.

For me, the 6th sense. I saw it when I was about 7 or 8, and I was freaked out by it - still am. I had nightmares for about 2 months after I saw it, and I had to sleep with my reading light on.

Yeah, i'll agree with brought-back mountain. :D But, the scariest I've seen would probably be Silence of The Lambs. Whew that one was pretty freaky…

6th sense and severance are the scariest films ever when your on pills. scream scared the hell outa me when i was about 7 or however old i was, now its just jokes. hellraiser is crap, halloween is probably the only other one worth mentioning. i just about stay awake through the other freddy horrors.

oh n sweetleaf, i saw IT when i was really young, it was pretty scary then but havent seen it since.
